Pienza is a beautiful village, the Val d'Orcia is breathtaking. We were welcomed by Paola, who is a magnificent ambassador for the property, she really made us feel incredibly welcome. The restaurant was also excellent, we had a fantastic dinner. We came off season, (March) which added to the tranquility. I think you would come here to enjoy a quiet, peaceful retreat, and it is a nice base to explore the Tuscan wine region.

Pienza is small but has an excellent selection for dining.
Pienza is small but has an excellent selection for dining. Sight seeing in town is somewhat limited but affords terrific views over Val d'Orcia. If you like Pecorino cheese, you have to visit the shops in Pienza. Quick bite, try Pizzeria Pummaro near gate into old center. For charm and quality meal try Pane Vino & Zucchero. For all round the Trattoria la Buca Delle Fate is good. For a good hike outside of town, don't stop at the spot where they shot the Gladiator scene, keep going.

Pienza has one main street which means it can feel crowded when a relatively small number of people visit. There is limited free parking which is also used by residents.
There are a variety of small shops which mostly sell typical regional products. There is an abundance of Pecorino and hams. It is possible to buy a range of different quality of jewelry. There are also a few clothes shops.
There is a beautiful panoramic walk on the entrance from the North.
The town is blessed with a variety of restaurants and bars which are mostly tradition Tuscan food. There are also at least two ice cream shops.
The market takes place on Friday. In October there are a number of events such as the chocolate festival which means it gets very crowded on the weekend. There are limited public services such as clean bathrooms.
I limited the amount of time that I visited the town during my week long stay mainly due to access to parking. You have to pay 24/7 which is a problem for evening meal when travelling alone in the dark at a parking meter.

We utilised Pienza as a base from which to explore various towns within the Val D'Orcia, a world heritage area. We could have stayed longer to visit more towns and explore mountain biking trails. Pienza in itself is clean, beautifully restored, has chic dining spots and it was a privilege to have visited.

Pienza is now one of our favourite destinations in Tuscany. We have visited San Gimignano, Siena, Monteriggioni. Montepulcino whilst travelling by car and have found Pienza to be so pretty and enjoyable to be in. Parking was easy to navigate and the laneways of Pienza were quiet and so charming. The walkway/lookout side of the town provided vistas that you would hope for. Pienza is also quite close to those classic Tuscan scenes/photos that you may have seen previously.

I loved absolutely everything about this place.
I loved absolutely everything about this place. From location, to comfort, to the friendliest host (Tommaso) ever. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the Tuscan country side. It is close to Pienza and many other attractions and is just a gem of a place.
Alice and Simon were so helpful with everything. Although the apartment is on three floors, we didn't have trouble navigating the stairs and Simon helped us with the luggage. The property is right in the heart of Pienza and it's a delightful village. You can see the church tower from the bedroom window. (The bells do toll several times a day but I loved it.)
We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay while visiting Tuscany.
A wonderful place to stay in beautiful Tuscany. All the beauties are within walking distance. Shop, café, laundry service are also close by. The hostess is very welcoming, although we didn't see her. Helped us to get from another town as we didn't catch the last bus.
The hotel is in the centre of the town. The room is clean and there is a coffee machine. We were very happy with it. I hope to return to wonderful Tuscany one day!
Perfect apartment right in the center of Pienza. Andrea was possibly the best host I’ve ever had. He sent us a map link for free parking and also multiple links for must see locations and scenic driving routes in Tuscany including filming locations used in movies like Gladiator and Romeo & Juliet. He was a wealth of information in every way. Things to do, restaurants....you name it! Don’t hesitate to book this apartment-🙂
This beautiful cozy agriturismo gave us the perfect countryside Tuscan ending to our busy 3 week tour of Italy. Our rooms were nicely decorated, the outside had many beautiful flower pots & fruit trees surrounded by olive trees. We were happy to slow down & enjoy the pool & other guests who were there. Our breakfast basket delivered to our patio each morning was a nice touch. We loved the quite countryside.
Loved the location. Right in the centre of pienza, just outside the walls so super short walk into the old part of town. We have 2 small kids and there was a nice little park 100m walk away. The staff at the hotel were super nice, accommodating and helpful. The hotel room was very clean and nice. Only suggestion would be to have a kettle in the room with coffee and tea. They didn't have this.
The Val d'Orcia is one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany. Pienza is one of the most beautiful towns in the Val d'Orcia. And La Corte Antica is one of the most beautiful apartments in Pienza - right in the historic centre. So we were well pleased. Alice and Simone are perfect hosts. Everything was made easy for our stay. Perfectly located. Everything you need, Spotlessly clean.
Our suite was very comfortable and actually had the best shower we’ve experienced in 12 trips to Italy. Wonderful ambiance overall. Everyone at this family run business was genuinely welcoming and they pay attention to all of the little details to make the surroundings welcoming. Breakfast was very good too. I look forward to returning in the future.
Perfectly located for day trips around Val d'Orcia. Wonderful hosts. Pienza is underrated. Amazing local hikes and restaurants. We loved being within walking distance to Pienza so in-town visits and dining without worrying about parking or night time driving. Spacious studio with comfortable bed, great wifi.
The location is absolutely outstanding, it's a 6 minute drive to Pienza and in my opinion this is the most beautiful part of tuscany. There's a gorgeous view of Pienza from the pool, the 1 bedroom apartment had everything you need for a holiday, the breakfast has a lot of options and the staff is super kind.
We could not have asked for a more beautiful view of the rolling hills surrounding Pienza. The room was authentic and comfortable. Marco is the kindest and most welcoming owner we came across during our travels in Italy. If you are looking for a true Tuscan experience, I highly recommend this location.
Loved this place, nice agriturismo in the Tuscany countryside, just minutes away from Pienza by car, close to some of the best views in Tuscany. The breakfast basket every morning was such a nice touch. Great pool and quiet, beautiful property. Great local wine for sale as well.
Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. We accidentally went to breakfast 15 min late and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were fed. The area is gorgeous and is a great place to sit back and relax. This was by far the best place we have stayed in Italy.
Tasty but small and simple breakfast in comparispn with other locations in Tuscany. Perfect location at town center in the heart of Unesco town. Parking ok at supermarket Coop, perfect hike trail from Montepulciano back to Pienza. Wonderfull terace view from the roof.
Giosef the owner is the provided the best service in my stay in Italy out of all the hotels I stayed in.
visited Venice,Tuscany, Rome and amalfi coast including positano and capri best service by far!!!!
thank you Giosef
The location is fantastic with typical tuscany hills, with behind background the famous town of Pienza.
If is a relaxed weekend you are looking for, the this resort is the right choice, both with friends and family
A fantastic small hotel in the heart of the town. Perfect for a short visit and everything in the room etc. was of a very high standard and quality. Would absolutely stay again if ever in Pienza.
Very nice resort, totally worth the money you give. Only 10 minutes from Pienza it's a perfect option for a romantic escape. Deep in the nature of Tuscany with great staff and tasty breakfast
