The beach was nice. You can ride your car on it for a fee.
The beach was nice. You can ride your car on it for a fee. The pool was nice and clean at the hotel. There was no bar or lounge at the place we stayed. Most restaurants and bars in the area were closing at around 10 pm. which kind of put a damper on the evenings in Daytona. There is more rift raft coming into the town, then I remember from 25 years ago. Not a lot of night life going on there. Nothing appealing to my wife and I. Run down and sad. There were a lot of homeless and drug addicts. We ate at 3 restaurants and the food was not good. We did like the town’s commitment to helping turtles by requiring vehicles off the beach by 7pm.

Our stay at Max was beyond amazing.
Our stay at Max was beyond amazing. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our condo was equipped with everything we needed just as if we were at home. Our favorite thing to do was go upstairs to the Beacon lounge to play games and go out to the sunset terrace. The pool was the hangout and we made so many friends. Big shout out to Lisa and Sean. They welcomed us with smiles and set the tone for our vacation. I can't remember the name of the other gentlemen working. I do know he was from Jamaica and had only been with the Max for a short time. He was extremely helpful with us getting upstairs to our room. We had a lot of bags and he assisted us while my husband parked the car. Thanks again for everything you guys did to make our stay 1 for the books!!!

It was Jeep week at Daytona while we were there.
It was Jeep week at Daytona while we were there. We didn't know how loud and busy the beach would be because Jeeps love to drive up and down the beach all day long. Duane, the owner mentioned it but we didn't know how that would affect sitting on the beach. We needed to be there for our granddaughter who was attending a ballet conference at the convention center so the location for that was great, but if you want a quiet, relaxing beach experience don't come to Daytona when it's Jeep week.JohnUnited States - 8.0Scored 8.0

Daytona has changed a lot since I visit in 2003 for the first time to 2024 last weekend. The sand is disappearing and the water seems to be too close to the retention walls of the properties. I remember having to walk from the stairs to the water, people where lying down in the sand. Now it is dangerous to do it due to cars passing by too close from people for my liking. Myself and my daughter are not able to lay very low due to sinus issues. I asked for extra pillows and were given one tiny flat pillow . I was expecting better from an Hilton affiliated hotel.Especially with paying $247.33 per night. I would say it was an ok experience, but definitely wasn’t impressed and will not be staying again.

The staff was very nice. Room felt very clean (I am so glad they don't use bedspreads or blankets). Breakfast was very good, as it is served off of a menu. We had a pool day, and the pool was super clean and refreshing and can order drinks and food. My husband and I will stay there again. I would recommend Holiday Inn Spa and Resort.
