Hands down and by far the most TO DETAIL stay we have ever experienced during our world travel. This hotel exceeded the expectations from the second we arrived to the valet parking area, to the reception (just at sunset time :)), to the perks (basket, hat, pajamas,treats...) provided as welcome gifts, to the aroma of the whole property. to the tasteful and beautiful decor. The food was great at the restaurant and the view from our secluded table for dinner was super romantic. Personnel and their attire is immaculate. The Laduree ice creams by the pool, the spa, gym,...the knowledgeable Concierge monsieur was super kind and helpful. This place is sooo romantic. It is costly yes, but the go above and beyond to please guests and provide a unique experience,....which lasts to the second we left. On departure they gave us Laduree macaroons for the road, water, wet towels and even personalized with initial luggage letter tags!!!! just amazing....we will recommend to all those romantics looking for the most upscale and pampering experience.....congratulations to the master minds of this hotel !! location is so beautiful and sunsets are glorious to feel the provenzal wind. xoxo

If you're planning on driving here with a rental car please be aware that it is extremely busy and the roads are incredibly narrow. My experienced driver was uncomfortable with parallel parking next to a precipitous drop The view that you often see in photos from the lookout near the village is beautiful but what you don't see are the lines of other people waiting to get the same shot. In short, it's incredibly touristy which does take away from the quaint ambiance I was looking for. We also visited Fontaine de Vancleur and found that village to be more manageable in terms of crowds, parking, and driving.

Gordes is a magical town, it's all walkable and you'll have plenty of choice for restaurants, be careful not to set out for dinner too late though as places seem to close quite early.
We had a fantastic meal at La Trinquette which I highly recommend. There's also a lively outdoor bar/restaurant opposite with a view!
If you're staying in the area and have access to a car, make sure you check out Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque for it's beautiful exterior lined with Lavender (no need to get sucked in to the hour tour), also be sure to visit Le Sentier des Ocres, Roussillon is a stunning town and the orange Quarry is definitely something not to miss!
Parking can be quite tricky in the very heart but it's a small town and two mins up the road is a massive car park.

Gordes is a beautiful medieval village with lovely shops and restaurants and stunning views. It has a wonderful market every Tuesday morning. However it can get hectically busy during the day as it is phenomenally popular with tourists. It’s best to visit it early, around 10 am, and even at 9am on market day. Limited parking if one is not staying within walking distance nearby

Gordes is a beautiful town with amazing views, some nice shops, several good restaurants, lovely village market on Tuesday mornings.
Stayed on the hill leading up to Gordes, about a 10 minute walk from the city. Perfect location - got some exercise walking up every day, but had enjoyed the space and quiet of being outside the village
Ate at several restaurants in Gordes. Most enjoyed our meals at L'Outsider and Le Garden.
We visited early June. The village had lot's of tourists but wasn't too busy overall. Expect it would be much more crowded in July and August

Gordes has quite a lot of history which is very informative and interesting.. However in the actual village itself there is not a lot to offer. La ville sous la ville is very interesting.
The surrounding villages of Gordes are perhaps more interesting with markets and local cuisine. Lourmarin is definitely worth a visit.

We stayed in Gordes for three nights.
We stayed in Gordes for three nights. Three full days would have been fine but we lost a day going back to Aix en Provence for a private cooking class.
The Luberon area is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed visiting many villages. Would highly recommend. Must have rental car.
Chez Marius Gordes was a wonderful apartment right in the heart of the beautiful village of Gordes. The apartment had everything you could need for a multi-day stay and was sparkling clean! The very best part, though, was the terrace. It had amazing views from everything direction, including a panorama of the Luberon and a beautiful chateau tower seemingly right next door. We had every one of our meals out there, as well as just hanging out time. We highly recommend this property!!
Reaching the hotel by car was a bit of a mission, requiring negotiating a long, narrow and winding road leading up to the hilltop town of Gordes, while trying not sideswipe the rental car or run over the hordes of tourists drawn by the same things that brought you to the Luberon.
But how else would you have a room with a balcony which offered the most stunning views over the entire valley below and the mountains beyond?
The Bastidon is located in a private community within the beautiful town of Gordes. It is only a short walk to the town center where there are many restaurant options and beautiful panoramic views across the valley. The private community has lovely gardens, a pool, table tennis, and other amenities. Denis is a wonderful host and gave us a lot of excellent recommendations about the area. We hope to come back again!
Beautiful and private hotel grounds, perfectly located near central Gordes. The owners of the property were amazingly welcoming and went out of their way to improve my stay. One of the owners arranged a bike rental and personally drove me to the shop several times - truly exceptional hospitality. The room and Wi-Fi were also fantastic and the bed was quite comfortable. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly!
-Beautiful and comfortable room
-Beautiful garden
-Very quiet place, yet very close to Gordes
-Delicious breakfast, very fresh and local products, and prepared according to our needs and even according to very strict dietary requirements - this is greatly appreciated
- The hosts are incredibely kind and welcoming, shared a lot of useful tips about Provence area and very interesting history of the property
Superbly convenient location within 10 mins walk of the beautiful medieval village of Gordes. Fantastic views of Gordes from our room and from most parts of the hotel. Excellent breakfasts outside overlooking the village. Extremely helpful and efficient staff. We had a loveky, comfortable room with our own private patio. Swimming pool on the property and ample secure parking. Highly recommend it!
This was one of the best hotels in France. The 3 rooms are incredible, breakfast is phantastic. But the highlight are the owners, Luc and Marianne. Their support (they made reservations in great restaurants), the decoration (every morning another breakfast dishes) is really unique. We have never seen a hotel like Provence km28.

Lovely private accommodation with a very warm welcome by the owners. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, plentiful and beautifully presented. Close to Gordes with all its great shops, restaurants and enchanting market plus sights galore within easy driving or biking distance from this location. Highly recommend!
Beautiful and pristine B&B in a great and quiet location near Gordes. Luc and Marianne are a great host and they go out of their way to make you feel like home. Amazing breakfast every morning. They ask you every morning how yesterday was and if you need any suggestions for place to go or where to eat today.
The hosts were kind, informative and always ready to help. Thank you for everything guys - we did not manage to outrun tour du France, but great experience :)
The house is very stylish with great garden where the breakfast is served. We loved the small details and colors all around the place.
Cute and quaint cottage feel. Location was great and very close to Gordes with a beautiful backyard of olive trees and a pool. It came with a fully stocked kitchen with cooking supplies which was helpful. The property was clean and even had a peek a boo view of the valley.
-perfect location just a short 5 min walk into the town of Gordes
-very friendly hosts
-breathtaking home and views
-lovely common outdoor and indoor spaces
-would certainly recommend a couple nights stay
The location to all of the sites we visited during the day to include Gordes. The room was very comfortable and cozy. The view of Gordes at night with all the Christmas lights was beautiful.
Fantastic location just a few minutes easy walk to the centre of Gordes. Quiet, great views. Secure parking. Well maintained and equipped. Super friendly and communicative host.
Property is in a gorgeous setting, close by to Gordes. The room was comfortable and clean, with a travel cot provided and already setup when we arrived which was amazing.
The garden and architecture of this hotel are stunning and we even had our own little Sun loungers (as you can see on the photo).
Plus it's super close to Gordes.
