Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAs other reviewers mentioned it can be a bit tricky to find- because of the one way streets in the neighborhood.my Apple Maps got us very close, just needed to come a bit further down the hill. I’m honestly not sure of how you would explain it better .
The location was excellent- we were able to walk to Monet’s gardens, a restaurant, bakery. Room was spacious and comfortable, if the weather had been a bit warmer we could have sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed the garden. Host was wonderful as was breakfast. We were able to buy tickets for Monet’s house and garden from the host, and not have to ore/book online or stand in a queue

United KingdomNearest supermarket is one hour walk (or 10 min drive) away, which was fine by me but visitors might wanna stock up at Vernon before arriving at Giverny.
Convenient location. Exceptionally clean. Bathroom has a warmer. Lovely lady who manages this property - a native English speaker, and has a warm heart - thank you for your hospitality! Stunning field of sunflowers right to the south (in July) across the street.

It was a wonderful respite after being in the city for a week. Danielle, the owner, literally goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and supplies you with whatever you’ve forgotten. There’s a bistro room with a fridge and freezer she even has an ICE TRAY!!🤸♂️🎉. The room and bed is so comfortable and there’s lounge chairs to relax in anytime you want to relax. The breakfast is wonderful; I ate so much I didn’t need lunch. Her place is located in the perfect area of the small town of Giverny and she’ll give you tips on when and where to go to various areas of it. Our favorite place so far!!!! And her little precious dog Darwin is the sweetest and part of the charm💕

United KingdomNot easy to find by car. Sat nav got us close but the last 30m would have been the wrong way due a one way street. Plan your route in advance as the roads are very tight and some are one way.
Bang in the centre of giverny, everything in walking distance. Lovely room in beautiful gardens with private parking. Able to buy tickets for the house and garden direct from the host so no queuing.

United KingdomWe had a lovely stay at Le Clos. The location is perfect for Monet's garden and Danielle was so kind and helped us with tickets for entry (no queue) as well as excellent recommendations and bookings for dinner. It was a lovely stay with a great breakfast too! We travelled by train from Paris and the whole thing was wonderful - Giverny is easily walkable and it was enjoyable not to have to use a car.

United KingdomOnly small niggle was that there was no WIFI code displayed anywhere which would have been helpful. And we kept forgetting to ask! This is not a criticism but be aware the village is on a hillside and is pedestrianised. The roads are on a sort of grid with a main road running along the top of the village and another at the bottom with lots of small lanes running between connecting the two. Le Clos Fleuri is at the bottom of one of these connecting lanes and it is a one-way which our SatNav struggled with. We eventually turned off the main road before the village, drove along the top road and then you can turn right into the Rue de la Dime and drive down to Le Clos Fleuri on the right.
Le Clos Fleuri was an all-round excellent place to stay. Good location for walking to Monet's gardens. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. No air-conditioning but there was a fan. We had a welcome tray and a little courtyard outside the room with a bistro table and chairs and there were plenty of comfortable seating areas in the garden. There was also a small kitchenette with a fridge, cutlery and crockery at our disposal so we were able to do a little shop and eat 'at home' instead of going to a restaurant. The continental breakfast was excellent.
