Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongThe style of the place is quite authentic, but it would need some improvement to reach modern standard. For the same price, other Bed & Breakfast in the area are offering nicer facilities for a similar price.
Very convenient location to visit Giverny and this part of Normandy. The people in charge are really nice

United KingdomHeating was rudimentary, there being only a small electric radiator for a very large space. There was no hot water. Yoghurts supplied for breakfast were past their sell by date. All very disappointing after the initial good impression.
Charming location and first impressions were good. The place is characterful, spacious and clean. Fresh bread for breakfast was brought in the morning and was good.

United StatesThere had been a failure to communicate about our arrival time and there was no one on the property when we got there. The phone number on the outdoor sign turned out to be a wrong number. When we finally got into what the proprietor called the Theatre Room it looked to be wonderfully eccentric. He mentioned there were stairs leading down to the bathroom; what we didn't realize until after he left was the steps were practically vertical with no handrails. To make a long story somewhat shorter, we did settle into a room that worked well for us but having flown all night and then driven out of Paris, getting lost when Waze cut out, then finding no one at the property, it was more harrowing than would have been preferred.
This may have been the quirkiest place I've ever stayed. The location was as advertised, easy walking distance to what there is of a town center and the Monet house/gardens. The breakfast was nice and the room we finally settled in was well suited to our needs.

CanadaI thought this place was awesome! I just loved it. The only negative I have to say about the whole thing was that I could not get the Wi-Fi to connect. Other than that I thought it was amazing and I would go back in a heartbeat.

United StatesThe day was rainy windy and cold. When we when we came to the cottage the windows were open and there was no heat. He turned on the radiators so we were expecting heat, but after three hours of freezing we realize that it wasn’t going to work. We were covered up in a few blankets which were the only ones there. If he had prepared and warm the place up and even put a fire in the fireplace, such as he had in his office. Then we might’ve enjoyed it. But there was no way we were going to try to brave it out on a cold cold night. We left to find different lodging.

United StatesLocation is good, and it was a unique experience of sorts. But the one picture of the place (and no website to speak of) was misleading.
We never got our breakfast, beyond what was in the fridge at our little bungelow. No show.. and coffee maker didn't work so we headed out early to the airport with two spoonfuls of plain yogurt and that was it.

United StatesPerfect for us. Very rustic & charming but still comfy & had everything we needed. Host very helpful & called us to check when we would arrive as he would be gone for an hour. Great location a 3 minute walk from Monet’s house & gardens. Lovely town. Host recommended good restaurant where we sat right next to the river.

ItalyThe garden is abandoned and it's a real pity, the rooms and their furniture seem to come from an antique furniture fair, they may be charming but there is also some mistery (...) Our bathroom was not isolated or ventilated, with related issues. A room with no seals between bathroom and bedroom is only for the brave :-D . It could be ok anyway but what we payed looks unbalanced with the true situation. And my idea of offered breakfast is not an unpackaged o.j / bread and an open milk bottle. Ok,covid is out, but we had to visit a grocery store to have our breakfast meal, maybe i'm not hippy enough for this kind of place
The owner manager was very nice,we were 3 hours late and he provided us a sort of "free entry" in that peaceful and green place that is this place. The location could be amazing as for the old country style than for the green garden, each room is a studio with a little kitchen and bedroom in, with its own little patio. Highly reccomended for its romance and atmosphere is suitable for people who really knows what intimacy is. I guess if you are a hippie,an artist, looking for an "intense" experience THAT IS THE PLACE. And it really felt to be in a Monet painting,i swear ( Claude Monet house is 5 ' driving away, nice location!)

United StatesThis place has a lot of potential but it is definitely not there. It needs a major upgrade. It is not clean, lots of flies, and in the cottage we stayed in, we were unable to completely close or lock the windows which made us feel uncomfortable. There was wifi apparently, but it did not work from our cottage. The owner came and went inside our cottage area (which has its own separate gate) as he pleased. At one point he was outside the cottage watering the plants very late in the evening, and kept staring inside. It made us feel very uncomfortable. We cut our stay and left after only 2 nights. I believe that people might have different experiences here depending on the room they get. Definitely do not get the cottage. It was terrible and not worth the money at all. I walked around the neighborhood in the hopes of switching to another hotel. They were all booked up but were so much nicer, cleaner and more professionally serviced.
The one good thing about the place is that it is very conveniently located and within walking distance of all the major sites. And, we did get some good bread in the morning.

United KingdomThere were mice, the shower was broken and hadn't been replaced, the toilet was filthy, the bedding smelled of cigarettes, not enough pillows, mattress sunk in the middle, the kitchen, everywhere, was dirty, mould under the drying rack, broken glasses in the cupboard, garden unkept and full of weeds, table parasol was broken (spokes were torn off the ribs). Disgraceful. They only get business because they're right in the village of Giverny and can charge what they want for a filthy hovel.

IndiaAvoid the route given by GPS for the last 200 meters, as it makes one drive up a very narrow, steep road, which is very difficult. Hygiene levels in the cottage could be better, with better dusting and removal of cobwebs possible.
A quaint place with an old world charm. Our cottage was a converted theater, with theatre seats! It had a piano, which was a wow factor for my wife and son, both enthusiastic pianists. The fridge was packed with yogurt and juice, and the host gave fresh bread every morning. The bathroom was a steep flight of steps down, but we learned to maneuver them. The location was great, with Monet's Garden barely a kilometer away.

South AfricaI had to walk very far from the parking of Giverny to my booking with a big suitcase. I have come from Paris so my feet were very tired. I'm over 60. No WiFi as advertised but I don't really care about that. I just had to let my children know where I was. Breakfast was a little small.
Giverny is beautiful. I came for Monet's garden . The owner of this property helped me by bringing my bag down to the parking. Very kind couple! There was no WiFi but the lady let me phone my son. Merci! If I ever can I will visit again. Highly recommend this place!
