Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe room I got was moldy. The staff immediately gave me another room which was bigger and which I accepted. Nevertheless, after looking more closely I found mold in the bathroom too. As mold is a risk to the health this is not acceptable as accommodation.
The staff was friendly and helpful.

New ZealandSmall basic rooms, and the hotel is a little tired, and shabby, but clean, convenient and good value for money given the location.

GreeceThe neighborhood was really not good. It was scary. There was a market on Wednesday and Saturday under the bridge and the smell was horrible. Metro starts early and finishes late and it can become really noisy. The white curtains need to be washed! They were filthy. Also, the floor was clean, as long as you didn't look under the beds!
The staff were very pleasant and helpfull. The hotel was in a very short distance from the hotel which was very convenient. Given the cost per night, it was ok.

United KingdomNot the most comfortable hotel. Could use more bedding; was chilly at night. Bathroom was tiny with a cramped shower. Neighbourhood is perhaps not the most salubrious in Paris.
Staff quite friendly and happy to look after bags if (as I did) you arrive early. Good value for Paris. Location convenient for Gare du Nord, which is a mere ten minutes' stroll away. Easy access to Metro.

LithuaniaCheck in is ONLY on 14:00 and they wont agree to let you in earlier (you can leave your stuff tho), rooms kinda cold and they turn off the heater except for the night, so if you return to your hotel earlier than they turn the heat on, you will freeze. Also what I didnt like that they enter to clean your room everyday, regardless if you want/need it. Overall: ok for the price
It's a very good location, near metro station or famous objects, especially near Montmarte. But the neighborhood itself is kinda shady (didnt feel not safe tho). But for the price is ok, if you just need place to stay

UkraineThe toilet room door didn't close completely, sound isolation from the bathroom and between the rooms was terrible, every sound was hearable, especially at night and in the early morning.
The location is great - close to both Railway station where we arrived and the city center, super-close to The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris (Sacré-Cœur Basilica) and Montmartre. We were allowed to leave the luggage after check-out. The staff was friendly and helpful. Clean beds and room in general.

GreeceThis hotel is a really old building that they made some kind of renovation but still old and it needs a better renovation. Good thing is that it had its own bathroom/toilet but everything was old. They cleaned it decently which is a plus but then the elevator was not working and we were on the 5th floor. I did not like that at all. I think maybe the pictures that I saw before booking it are somewhat better than what it really is. To reach to the hotel the first day was nightmare but this is not something that it's because of the hotel itself of the area. It's just the transportation in Paris which for example compared to London, is really not that good. We do not speak French so it was hard for us to reach. But after we reached the next days we were able to figure out how to do it in a more easy way.
The hotel is located in a central area of Paris and it was really close to the venue of the concert that we made this trip for. There some stores to get street food and eat decently in the area. The people working in the hotel were really pleasant and friendly and helpful. This is the main reason I give this rating to the hotel (the personnel and that it was close to the venue).

United Kingdomthe toilet and showers are not separated from the bedroom: travelling in two would have been problematic as there is no privacy. The shower was leaking from the corner and nearly wet my suitcase (corner of the shower not sealed properly, was not the wetness from taking a shower). Shower door: half was a sliding door but did not close the shower entrance therefore a curtain was in place to cover the second half of the entrance. No hair drier or heating - the room was cold as the window was left open by personnel.
close to station and with private bathroom. Ok for one night only but price and structure were not great. Very clean tho
