Words cannot adequately describe how wonderful Aberconwy House is! As a solo female traveller, I am always looking for a safe harbour on my travels, and Aberconwy certainly was. Upon arrival, I instantly felt so much "at home" in my room (room 4, highly recommend!) that I instantly found myself unpacking, which I never do (I usually just 'live out of my suitcase')! It was such a wonderful place to return to after a day of hiking. The room was incredibly comfortable, with beautiful art by Martin to make it feel even more special. The bed is great - I slept like a baby - and the water pressure in the shower is amazing. Breakfast is the stuff of DREAMS honestly, with local wildlife (squirrels and birds) enjoying their own breakfast right outside the window to make the experience feel even more peaceful. Most importantly, the hosts Pippa, Martin and Marian are what truly makes Aberconwy so special. They spare no effort to make you feel at home, from providing help with planning the day(s) ahead, commiserating over overly large rental cars, teaching you some Welsh phrases, or just chatting in general about whatever. They are the kind of people you actually find yourself missing when you return back home (I do!) and I am so thankful to have met them. Please do not let the closure of the nearby foot bridge deter you from booking at Aberconwy! The walk to the village is very doable, and if you'd prefer, the drive over takes only 5 min. Honestly, Aberconwy is quite simply the best place I have stayed at in years. I'm hoping to return some time in the future, and desperately wish I could just take it with me wherever I go next. :)

The only gripe that someone could possibly make is parking. As you could get blocked in but that honestly isn't a problem. I'm sure if you were to ask one of the owners, they would surely get it moved.

Everything was perfect!

Really outstanding accommodation! We have rarely been to a place where everything was as perfect as in the Aberconwy House. The recommendations the hosts gave us about what to do in the area were excellent and we can’t wait to go back there. Oh, and the breakfast was superb.

The exceptional and beautiful room was by far the nicest I have stayed in, to date. The hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. I would say that their kindnesses are what made my stay so memorable, but the fantastic view from room 5 - of the mountains and forest - was also exceptional. 5 stars from me; I long to return.

The place was spotless and very tidy. Really comfortable. During my check in, Martin gave a very thorough and brief introduction to the place. Marion, Pippa and Martin were all very friendly and helpful with many sightseeing tips and really good breakfast and Welsh cakes.

Everything about our stay was amazing! The owners are wonderful and very hospitable, they are happy to help you with any question, especially where to hike in the area! The breakfast was superb, with perfect view, and you can even get to watch some naughty squirrels stealing bird food. :)

Beautiful property and every room has a view. Unfortunately, it was too cold and wet for us to sit out on the lovely deck among the plants and flowers and birds but the grounds are absolutely lovely. Also, the place is very close to town and access to several good restaurants. Several hikes in the area but also not a long drive to Snowdonia national Park where the hiking is breathtaking as well as the island of Anglesey. The hosts were amazing and can tell you anything you want to know about the area. So kind and gracious. Hot cooked breakfast made to order each morning was also very very good.

There was nothing I didn’t like, I was travelling up from London so would have liked to have checked in earlier but it wasn’t a problem at all!

The owners were absolutely fantastic and really friendly! They were so welcoming and really helpful with suggestions about what to do and where to go! Have already planned to go back in the summer - thank you guys! The food was excellent and there was nothing they wouldn’t cater for! They made an effort to talk to you at breakfast or within a passing and even my friend wasn’t staying with me but they would catch up with him too which I liked! If you’re looking for a home away from home stay, this is your best choice!

The rooms were beautifully appointed, and exceptionally clean. The hosts were very welcoming, and friendly and made everything very easy, with advice about local places to eat, and activities. There was a very wide selection of options for breakfast too, and delicious Welsh cakes and bara brith to take with us for our day out. I would very gladly visit again.
