We were there for a friends reunion and it was ideal.

Not easy to access room . I was up narrow stairs and lugging suitcase etc not easy. Breakfast in dining room was not great. It is not a pleasant space and is more like a canteen than a dining room. That was the least favourable aspect of my stay.

Room was comfortable and well appointed. I was in a double but on my own. Might have not been so roomy for 2! The large lounge at the entrance is very attractively decorated and was a good social space. We had private dining space and it was the right size and the staff were very good.

We were 'upgraded' to a larger double room but seemingly moved to a room that felt like it was in the prison wing of the hotel. An extended annex in the rear that has no photos in the advertising of the stay.. It was far too expensive a stay for what it was worth

The evening dinner available in the reception bar was surprisingly good

Not the most friendly but it’s massive and so not a massive problem.

Does what it says on the tin. It’s a resort hotel and performs the task well.

Very disappointed in this hotel, it was in a soulless, sprawling building. Basics like a towel rail and a toilet brush were missing. Shower was not great either. We stayed 3 nights and our room was not serviced. The restaurant was buffet style and noisy and impersonal and food rather like a motorway service station. We slept OK but spent as much time as possible away from the hotel. Very expensive for what it was.

Great location for exploring the area but otherwise disappointing. Adequate parking.

We were given the wrong info re evening meals on checking in. We were told the bar and woodshed were open for evening meals however we stayed on a Thursday and none of these were open. On going to the restaurant we were declined food as we hadn’t booked. Not ideal.

Lovely location. Clean hotel and comfy bed.

20 minutes standing in a queue to book in, with only two people in front of me, and half a mile of queueing people behind....shocking lack of staff. Both at reception and the bar area. No lemons or limes in the bar (they'd run out). No food served after 2030hrs, and we'd hill walked 20+ miles....not acceptable for a hotel in today's world. What this hotel needs is 'The Hotel Inspector' to come in and fix what could once again be a great establishment.

Location, clean, fresh towels, and bedding. Barman, 'Innes', or similar.

Our room was too hot, the heating was off, we had the fans on, windows open and it still was impossible to cool down what really affected our ability to sleep well in the room.

I liked the atmosphere in the hotel. Especially the social areas, main lobby, restaurant etc. Food was good as well, we enjoyed our breakfast and main courses. However I would have liked having the option to have a la carta menu as well on top of the buffet.

Very small bathroom, had to climb behind door to shut it. First room they gave me smelt of cigarettes so I requested to be moved which they did but room was small, bed up against the wall and not a lot of storage. Bed wasn’t comfy and could feel springs and I’m not a heavy person.

Nice hotel local to attractions and location good for hiking but close to shops if needed

The bedrooms are very tired and definitely need a little love and upkeep. There is also definitely a lack of staff. Only one front of house staff member on the woodshed bar, it was lovely weather and busy and a rather long wait for drinks.

The property had an onsite fun house and swimming pool so was great for kids. You can walk down to the river which was beautiful. The evening music was also lovely to chill with the family in the evening.

We didn't have breakfast because of the cost (we generally have a light breakfast but would be having to pay for full meal). Dinner was adequate, considering the cost, though a buffet does benefit folk with bigger appetites!

Location was ideal as we could walk into the forests from the hotel. The hotel decor was a little tired but it was really good value for money. It was a real bonus to have a pool free for guests.

It is needing a bit of TLC as some areas were not too good. In our room there was no sink stopper and the drains were smelly! Reported it on the first day and nothing was done about it. Had to use perfume spray to make it tolerable.

It was in a good area.

Rooms and hotel were quite old and dated. The onsite restaurant was very expensive. Check in took a very long time given lots of other arrivals, and not allowing check in before 4 o clock.

Well located. Access to pool and gym.

Our bed was solid. The woodshed was only open one night of our stay. There was nowhere to eat our second night except for the buffet and that didn’t sound nice. The bedroom walls are so thin you can hear next doors conversations.

    I liked the woodshed pub

The dinner costing £24 was hardly matching my children’s school dinner. No fault to the chefs, but they were probably told to work with the cheapest available ingredients. Also 30 minutes queue at check in.
