Lovely friendly warm welcome. Staff were exceptional throughout our visit. Room was clean and tidy, great to have an iron and ironing board in the room. Plenty of toiletries. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. Nothing was to much for any of the staff. Would definitely stay again.

Four of us had dinner in the restaurant and like in so many hotels the meals were a bit disappointing. The restaurant is nice and the service was good.

It's hard to fault the Earl. Friendly staff, great bedrooms, secure parking and a short walk to the city centre.

There’s nothing I didn’t dislike.

This is a beautiful art deco hotel. It gives the air of grandeur, staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a bathroom that has both walk in shower and a bath.

The bed was a little uncomfortable with a big dip in the matress room 202 There needed to be background music playing instead of a small radio on top of the reception desk for a large hotel reception The tables were very small for 4 people to eat around we had to put bottles of wine on the floor to make room We were by the lift which was noisy

Unfortunately I had to send my ribeye steak back it wasn't done to my satisfaction and the next meal wasn't very good either. For the price of £57 the meal not very good.

Everything it was a great theme of 1920s loved it.

unfortunately the bathroom was not up to standard, I think a safety issue. The shower you could not open if you tried it hit the sink and also the bathroom handle stopped the screen opening. It was poorly built and equipped. I having had a knee replacement and another poorly knee i had difficulty getting in the bath I had to hold onto the two handles within the bath I could not get out so my husband helped me. Bath towels were wet in the morning because only had a rail to dry them needed a heated rail.. No shelf to put your things

ambience of the hotel room, breakfast and bed excellent. It is a shame that the restaurant was not promoted better on outside of the hotel or inside especially sunday lunches this needs to be greatly improved

I believe I was misled by pictures on booking.com as I was expecting a traditional quirky art deco room as advertised instead we received a modern room which was no better than premier inn . So I was disappointed having booked over 12 months ago that this happened. Booking.com should state clearly which room is available since you have the option to ‘select room’ . Paying for what I received was rather expensive. Diane at reception did offer to change to a room that I wanted but we had already unpacked . This should not have happened.

Room was opposite double doors which sometimes was a little noisy, room 216, but didn’t detract from enjoyment.

The covers on the bed were really thick, it was a warm night and I do like to be covered but could've done with a thin sheet on the bed.

Staff were amazing, very helpful! Rooms were lovely and roomy, beds are massive!
