How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The hotel was in a good place close to the town and shops ten minute walk to the see

Neal and Debbie were very welcoming and we enjoyed our time there,the breakfast was lovely also and personalised to how what we liked it, we highly recommend staying at Glenavon for a short break 😀

The hosts made me feel very welcome without being too intrusive. They are a charming couple. The breakfast was outstanding. The attention to detail on the full Welsh breakfast plate was very precise. The grilled tomato on the small square of crunchy fried bread was delightful! All of the elements combined well to provide me with a most enjoyable eating experience that set me up for the rest of the day. I'll be back at some future juncture!!!

The room was at the top of the house and there was some noise as it was a windy night.
The bedroom was clean and airy with excellent shower and toilet room. Notable touches included a flannel, toothbrush holder and radio/alarm clock. The breakfast room was well laid out with a good selection of juices, cereals etc. There was a good choice of fresh items for the cooked breakfast.

Very clean room, excellent breakfast.Hosts were very informative and approachable. The accommodation was excellently placed being near to the promenade and also the many shops and attractions and the various eateries.

It isn't a dislike, it's just a review but maybe some : Bottled Water (as advertised) would have been nice to make a drink, (I had some so I was ok). : place mats would have been very useful in order to be able to put cups down in order to not potentially stain the furniture. : bin liners in en- suite bathroom would be good.
Very lovely hosts, very welcoming. Room was clean and tidy.

Absolutely nothing
Lovely, friendly welcome on arrival, we were shown to our rooms and given all useful information such as how to work the shower, exceptionally clean bathroom, lovely clean, comfy beds, little extras such as tea, coffee, wine glasses downstairs that you can take up and enjoy a drink in your room. Delicious breakfast with a great choice. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts who are lovely, friendly people. You will definitely not be disappointed with your stay here.

We stayed here on Bank Holiday weekend to have a good location for golf courses we were playing in the area. Debbie and Neal were amazing hosts, very accommodating and pleasant to chat to. The property was well located with a short walk into town and the included breakfast was great.

Not much not to like. Our en suite shower was a bit small but still clean and fully usable.
Easy to find. Lots of of on road parking and we always got a spot outside the property.

There was nothing we didn’t like about this b& b, although as a personal preference I like some fruit offered with breakfast.
We loved the friendly, comfortable atmosphere. The room was clean and nicely decorated with space to move around. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits were provided and refreshed daily. I liked having the two chairs as it meant you weren’t forced to sit on the bed. Our dietary requirements were catered for at breakfast and there was a nice choice of cereal and cooked breakfast. All in all a lovely stay and good value for money.
