Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThere was a quiet loud aircondition system outside our room right under the window. The sink in our bathroom was really tiny and under a shelf, so it wasn’t really comfortable
Bed was very comfy, there was a coffee machine with capsules in our room, great location

United KingdomThe llift was broken and having a spine disability sometimes I struggle to walk which after the gig I really needed the lift to get to the 2nd floor to our room. My fault tbh as didn't declare my problems but normally don't as lifts normally available. Wouldn't stop me coming back the staff where great and helped me when I was suffering bringing me a drink etc and letting me sit in the bar even though it was closed.
The location is good not far from centre or the gig venue we had. The hotel is very nice and bar downstairs looks fab. Rooms have so much space we had the deluxe room, lovely complimentary mini bar and spacious shower. Would use again if visiting for any other gigs.

Beautiful premises and great location. Not only plenty of choice on site to sit, eat or relax but surrounding location is great too. Exceptional customer service, from the doorman on arrival to the 24hr night staff who were so incredibly polite and attentive with departures and arrivals. Very helpful reception too.

United KingdomOnly thing for us was the glasses had not been cleaned very well and the sink could have done with some bleach, the rest was nice and clean.
Nice neat room with all you needed for few nights stay. Lovely reception staff and location was spot on. Great bar area with lovely cocktails. Doorman super friendly. Great location and only 5 min walk to the tram or a quick taxi journey to the city centre. Would highly recommend.

United StatesThe lift was out of order, which would pose a problem for some guests. Rooms facing the square have to deal with noise from bar guests, as there are some tables outside. The signage on the coffee maker in my room was pretty cryptic; seemed impossible to get more than an espresso shot from it. But the one big drawback was a smell, much like dirty socks, which was strong whenever I opened my room door, and also noticeable in the stairwell. Everything seemed very clean, but the place didn't smell like it.
Stylishly updated property in a historic building, with a lively restaurant and bar on site (I had only an evening meal, which was good). My room was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom and great shower; there was a complimentary minibar that included a welcome bottle of prosecco. The location on St. Paul's Square in the Jewellery District is wonderful, with green and peaceful environs and lots of great restaurants nearby. (It's about a 15-20 minute walk to New Street railway station.)

United KingdomDownsides with the room: Pillows were too cheap and soft. -mattress very low down and not of great quality. - ventilation from their AC was poor, so I had to open the window. The TV position is too high in comparison to the height of the bed. - automatic sensor light in front of open wardrobe kept going on and off sporadically all night even when somebody rolled over or moved a leg whilst sleeping, odd since the bed was quite far away from the location of the wardrobe in question. - Fridge was luke warm. Breakfast We opted to go for breakfast in the morning. The food itself was lovely, but we waited 55 mins for our cooked breakfast. I should be honest and share that one of the causes for this timely delay was that we asked for a customised cooked breakfast. The waitor was attentive and honest in saying he would need to seek the chef's approval. Ultimately, we would need to pay £42 instead of £30 to accommodate, but we decided instead we should just order one of the other options provided on their menu to stick to £30 each. The £30 pp covers unlimited continental food and drinks and a hot meal. Sadly, our amended order coincided with a rush of other tables at 9am, so our order was down the pecking order, and consequently, we lost time to prepare for a timely 11am check out. I'm sure there are valid reasons from management as to why the cooked breakfast options are rigid. But having experienced other hotels at higher and lower costs for breakfast, generally you can customise a cooked order providing items are all valid options from the existing breakfast menu for a 'Full English'. It just didn't feel flexible that this incurred extra costs when requesting removal of items and asking for reasonable additional items. Perhaps the food stock is ordered in, and deviation from the menu causes stock issues? However, you can pay half the price for a flexible option cooked breakfast at a Premier Inn, for example.
Lovely location a short walk from the city centre, Utilita Arena, Grand Canal, stations and parks. St Paul's House had great decor, an impressive bar area with immaculate toilets, and a smart presentable entrance giving an upmarket vibe. Staff were friendly and happy to store our luggage early before our official check-in time. Any requests and questions were handled well. All drinks in room fridge were complimentary, good flavoursome cocktails. Room cleanliness was of a high standard. We chose not to drive and use the parking, but if you choose to, parking is available. Despite recent known issues of car vandalism in the central Birmingham area, all of the cars within the hotel premises were secure, and there were no signs of damage and/or theft. My favourite features for this hotel were the impressive separation of the rooms to the hotel bar area. Excellent security provision for assurance. The hallway to the 1st and 2nd floors was impressively designed. Slick decor and design of the reception and bar area. And we had a good night's sleep despite it being Saturday night in Birmingham.

United KingdomThings that can easily be improved - bed was only fine, kind of small and average quality of mattress, the pillows were thin and papery feeling. Window is one of those big sash ones but with no latch to keep it open. Hallways are over bleached or perfumed. Breakfast staff were friendly but they hadn't kept on top of a bunch of stuff that was missing, plates, teabags, juices, pastries, glasses etc. (it wasn't busy, there were 2 other tables and we came in an hour before closing so it wasn't like it was near the end of service or they were overrun) This has the potential to be an amazing hotel and we really enjoyed our stay, if these things improved, I've no doubt they would get 10/10 ratings all the time
Great location, Beautiful frontage, and the bar and restaurant look lovely and when we arrived there was a pianist which gave a great vibe Receptionist was lovely and the rooms look really nice and are clean. Also comp prosecco and water in the fridges with chilled glasses is a really nice touch
