Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCleanliness on arrival disappointing, but didn't spoil our stay. The extractor hood above the hob doesn't have any filters fitted and the mats on the floors are a slip/trip hazard.
High quality fixtures, fittings and finish throughout the flat.

Singapore- facilities are modern and reasonable
- Modern designed apartment allowing great privacy and convenience. - Location: right at the Center of old town, allowing us to experience the historical venues: 1800s-church, Hat museum, etc. - Lovely neighbourhood: just 3’ walk to Market Hall, where you can enjoy a local breakfast set including soup, bacon toast and coffee for barely £5.

United KingdomNot the fault of the host but the surrounding area is undergoing some building/alterations and there were closed roads/footpaths everywhere. Also parking restrictions were a bit of a problem.
Apartment was spacious and well equipped, ideal as a comfortable base for a short stay.

United KingdomThe lack of parking made it quite awkward with a baby and a toddler. The brochure suggested that there was standard on street parking but when we arrived it was pay and display and you could only put 3 hours on at a time which was a little inconvenient. I think the brochure should be clearer that you have to pay to park between the hours of 6am and 6pm. For what was already a relatively expensive stay compared to other apartments we’ve been to in the past adding the cost of parking too in the current cost of living crisis isn’t helpful so I think they should be a little more transparent here. Also the view to the front is a derilict building which makes it feel a little creepy so wouldn’t recommend the venue for anyone staying on their own but appreciate that can’t be helped at the moment.
Absolutely beautiful modern apartment with everything included that you could possibly need for a brief stay - from teabags/coffee to a dishwasher/ washing machine with washing and dishwasher tablets even included. Lovely spacious feeling with really comfortable beds.

United KingdomThe main issue was the parking as it said it came with parking but did not explain it was paid for and started at 6am in the morning. There were no instructions we could find in the apartment explaining how we could pay in advance so it meant waking before 6am both mornings and registering the parking for 2 hours until we left. Something telling you about it would have been very helpful.
The access was OK but took a few goes as the placing was not great of the key pad. Rooms were spacious and although we were not in the room that much, was comfortably equipped.

AustraliaNo parking. Castlegate car park did not feel like a safe option for our hire car. Paid on street parking was from 6am to 6pm up to a max 10 hours so not possible to leave car all day. Probably best for people without a car. Very little natural light in basement flat. My personal preference is for natural light so it felt very dark and a bit gloomy to me, although nicely done.
Good size, good facilities, easy walking distance to train station and bus routes.

United KingdomThe owners need to have a serious word with the cleaning company. Shower rooms: There was no hand wash in the dispenser in the bathrooms. No fresh toilet rolls just half used ones. Fresh toilet rolls should always be left out for guests. Poor hygiene Kitchen: No washing up liquid in the bottle. An unusable filthy smelly (still wet) dish cloth and worn out tatty sponge. Floors: The wooden floors in the living area were sticky to walk on in bare feet and the soles of my feet were black. Just disgusting. The cleaner (who arrived at 9.50am just as we were leaving) said she had no supplies of products to replace those missing. Not her fault! She explained that her boss is supposed to leave supplies in her locker but doesn't. So she has none to replenish and replace. The poor housekeeping of these flats seriously lets them down. MORE IMPORTANTLY: These flats do not seem to meet fire / building regulations None of the windows open so it is not possible to evacuate the flats other than through the front doors which are nearest to the kitchens. In case of fire you would be trapped in the bedrooms. I would welcome the owners' comments on this last point especially.
Very convenient location. Modern flats. Well equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. Good showers and hair dryer. Nice towels

United KingdomAlthough it did not bother us sadly there was a derelict building across from the flat with homeless people/squatters residing in it. There is also a homeless outreach building across from the flat so every morning and evening there were large numbers of people congregated outside. I would bear this in mind as it could easily make some people feel unsafe. There are no windows which open on the main living floor so the space got very warm very quickly even with the fans on. As there windows do not open if there was a fire you could easily become trapped with no way out. There was also no fire extinguisher or blanket. No free or secure parking nearby.
The apartment is very modern and well decorated throughout. They have all of the appliances needed and a fully stocked kitchen. The place was large with enough room for us all to move about freely.

United KingdomThe parking and local homeless people caused no issues during our stay, but local residents warned us of some recent car break ins. so we decided to park in the local NCP Car park, very cheap and with CCTV and only a 5 min walk from the apartment so wasn't a problem.
The standard of the property was amazing, it reminded me of a new build show home! I even took some pictures for ideas on how to renovate my own house. Everything you need to work and relax.

FinlandThe heat was left on so when we arrived it was over 30c in the apartment. It also didn’t have any windows you could open to let air in so it was always warm. Being 6ft 4 I couldn’t fit in the beds as they had smaller than standard size.
The property was really clean and in a great location. not far from all the shops but in a quiet road.
