The maitre dee at breakfast. She was unwelcoming telling me I wasn’t on her list. I was but had arrived at 2230 and spoken to the reception staff who had agreed I could add 3 days of breakfast to my booking. Other than that excellent.

Room, welcome by :reception staff decor and bar area

I booked a massage - wasn’t great. Not the standard you’d expect for a 5 star hotel, was disappointing. Massaged my back , shoulders and back of legs , did not massage arms or front of legs- confusing as we booked full body massage. Asked for firm pressure twice & this wasn’t done.

Decor lovely, breakfast was great. Check in easy & quick. Spa facilities are perfect. Palm court was a great place to relax. Rooms great- no complaints.

Such a beautiful hotel and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We couldn't have picked a better hotel that's literally within walking distance to so many places like the shops, train station, the cavern club etc. Loved the spa and the room was so spacious and clean. Very comfortable bed and such great value for money. Highly recommend this stunning hotel and can't wait to go back!

Couldn't get the temp correct in the room - sleep was hotttt! We felt a little invisible to a lot of the staff members sadly. £50pp for spa use after paying what we paid for the room is extremely steep, we did not end up using the spa. It's a shame breakfast also wasn't included in the room rate.

The stand out was the beautiful decor - especially the bar area. The room was spacious & we we're so kindly upgraded free of charge. The gentleman who kindly took our bags to our room was so lovely & knowledgable of the area. The lady at check in was also very lovely too

Wallpaper closer to the criollo h was bulging a bit due to damp in the past. Could only notice when in bed though and the light caught it

You can get a bit lost around the corridors so clearer signage would be good. The bar is expensive. We ordered a cooked breakfast which we waited more than 30 minutes for. I had to keep asking what had happened. I was told it was particularly busy, but that needs to be catered for.

The hotel is in an area of Liverpool city centre close to bars, restaurants, museum, art gallery and shops. Its about a 15 minute walk to the Royal Alert Dock. The hotel has been tastefully renovated from the old Liverpool City Council building and is beautiful. The Palm Court bar/snacks area has a lovely chilled atmosphere. The staff throughout our stay were very welcoming, polite and attentive. We stayed in an executive room which was lovely. Plenty of room with really comfortable bed, tea/coffee facilities, fridge, iron and hair dryer. Bathroom didn't have a bath but the shower was perfect. I have to comment on the great lighting over the bathroom mirror. Perfect for putting makeup on! We didn't use the spa facilities so can't comment.

Nothing! the staff were fanatics and made me feel welcome

The staff at the hotel looked after me and my new wife. We got married on the same day and the staff accommodated an early check in. This allowed the wedding party to get ready earlier.

I think this hotel would have really benefitted from a court yard.

The bar area was fantastic and like a step back in time. The architecture and use of light are amazing.

The breakfast was a big let down, the cooked breakfast was incredibly greasy and I ended up leaving it as the staff never came back over to ask how it was. They also called us up to the counter whilst we was still eating to pay for one of the breakfast options that was an extra, instead of waiting until the end or at least until we had finished eating

The reception staff were lovely and very friendly! Everytime we walked through reception they asked if we were enjoying our stay and made recommendations of places to visit whilst we were there!
