    Nothing to dislike 😊

A gem of a pub, with good food, spotlessly clean rooms and very comfortable. The history of Alf White (the real James Herriot) the letter and the entry in the register from the 1940s (along with Greta Garbo!) was fascinating. Our thanks to Emily & Claire (owners) and in particular, Freya - a diamond of a girl, happy, intuitive and happy to help whenever she saw a need. Hang on to this one girls! The area is a walkers paradise. A fabulous weekend

I was relying on the bus and it was limited and didn’t run on the bank holiday.

The bed was very comfortable and having the pub/restaurant on site was perfect.

We had a very nice stay. The hospitality was very nice. As bikepackers we want a good shower, good food, a good bed and a safe place for our bikes. They had all of it.

We were perfectly satisfied with it all.

Very comfortable room with ensuite. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. Evening meals were also very good with a good selection and all very reasonably priced. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful.

The inn is close to the road so traffic noise starts early.

The inn is a period piece in time to the 40s and before. You can take off from the inn and walk for miles in either direction and enjoy the dales in their entirety. It’s a three mile walk to Bolton Castle. The lapwings and the curlews were nesting in the fields. The staff at the inn are always extremely helpful and friendly.

The room was clean but a bit too dusty.

The pub is located in a convenient spot for visiting the Aysgarth Falls in the Yorkshire Dales. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. It's also in dark sky territory, so it's perfect for stargazing at night.

unfortunately the bed was too small for us, a double seems a little old fashioned now, and so not a great nights sleep. my husband is of average build as too am i however just a little too squashed up together.

I have stayed at The Wheatsheaf on 3 seperate occasions and everytime i feel welcomed. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble there is a variety of food avaliable for breakfast dinner or a lunch time bite, all of which is delicious and great portion sizes. Location is absolutely perfect for sight seeing. we had 2 nights stay and saw so much of the surrounding beautiful countryside
