We liked the waterfall repelling, spent half a day at the rope swing, major highlight of the trip, didn't spend a lot of time in town, loved the Fortuna waterfall, didn't prefer the free hot springs. Enjoyed the Fortuna waterfall hike BUT beware of the steps…great hike but 500 steps DOWN, then 500 steps BACK UP!😉 beautiful falls and swimming area! Loved our zipline and rappel tour!! (Go Adventures!) And the hot springs across the street afterwards…ALL in the rain!🙃 Loved our hotel Arenal Rabfer! Walkability! Worst: DRIVING, roads, local drivers and scooters! This friendly family owned business is a great option for a little escape in the magical rainforest paradise. Owners provided us with a traditional Costa Rican breakfast which was super delicious. Our villa was located high above the ground and was super nice and clean! This hotel is a short driving distance from the centre of La Fortuna which is nearby the base of Arenal Volcano! Definitely would recommend and visit the place again!

It was great to have hot springs and a pool onsite, plus plenty of wildlife including a sloth mum and baby, lizards and loads of birds.
