Elegant resort, quiet, immersed in nature with breath taking views of the sea from the most exquisite villas. The staff is quiet, kind, professional, the ambience is luxurious but not ostentatious. No loud music, no tvs, a temple of peace and relaxation for couples. The spa is a very upscale experience immersed in the jungle. The biggest surprise is the food: curated by a chef who truly understands simple, fresh taste for elegant meals matched with wonderful wines (and we are picky Italian foodies!). The 4x4 drive up to Kura was also so much fun and one of the highlights of the trip. Highly recommend, a world away from the obnoxious, loud, ostentatious luxurious all-inclusive resorts which have destroyed local cultures around the world.

Uvita is a lovely area to stay in, with beautiful beaches and plenty of waterfalls to visit in the area. We recommend taking a trip to visit the mangroves in Sierpes. Our kids loved the surfing lessons they had here.LouiseUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10
Uvita is my favorite beach in Costa Rica.
Uvita is my favorite beach in Costa Rica. It's huge, you feel alone on the beach. The wildlife is beautiful. Tons of restaurants and places to walk. There are different beach sectors that you can chose from. It is a National Park, so you have to pay, but it is well worth it. One ticket gets you onto all the beaches. Staff in the Nationals Park is very helpful and there are patrols on the beach from the police and the National Park Guards.KristieCosta Rica - 4.0Scored 4.0

It wasn’t my favorite place in Costa Rica. Part of the problem was that it was so unbearably hot. I couldn’t go out and walk around comfortably. I didn’t go to the beach because of the heat and that would’ve been a big attraction also although my hotel was not far from town because of the heat again I found it unbearable to walk into town and walk around which I’d like to do when I’m traveling, so basically, my problems with AveUvita were weather related

Uvita is not the typical beach town, as it's very spread out and you need a car or a taxi to move around. In Uvita, you can visit the Marino Ballena National Park, which is possibly the most famous attraction in the area, where you can do whale-watching boat tours and other water sports tours like snorkeling and scuba diving. We visited the Marino Ballena National Park and found its whale-shaped beach very suggestive and unique. However, we were also very underwhelmed by the poor housekeeping of the park. There was rubbish everywhere and this is disappointing and upsetting given that this is supposed to be a protected natural reserve and you also pay for the access at a substantial price per person, which should guarantee thorough housekeeping. We went also to Playa Hermosa on our way to Uvita, but the amount of signs warning visitors of possible thieves, ruins a little bit of the vibe and it's not very relaxing having to watch your back all the time. Overall the beach is very nice and nothing happened to us. Since Playa Hermosa is also free to access, we recommend a visit, at least a stop by.

The pool area is beautiful with lots of plants surrounding it. Our downstairs room had a little outside sitting area surrounded by palms for privacy. There are 2 nice dogs which would give us company. It was a very relaxing stay. There are a couple of restaurants close by but it's easier to drive to the main road or the beach side of Uvita. The area of the hotel seems to mainly be new houses and is still quite small but therefore quiet.MIRJAMUnited Kingdom

The best thing was the garden and pool were amazing to relax in. The pool was really clean and we really enjoyed swimming in it as the weather is very hot in Uvita. Sara and her husband were so lovely and gave us a lift a couple of times including to the bus stop when we left with our bags which would have been a very sweaty walk! The area was great, a short distance to restaurants and the whale tour agencies and only 5 minutes to the beautiful beach.

Already before you arrive they open conversation to check for any special needs or interest you might have during your stay. Their level of hospitality and attention for details in and around the Casitas create a superb experience at another level! I loved every moment of my stay! Joe's freshly cooked breakfast at the pool can compete with the best. Besides that the hosts are super friendly which made me feel at home. Highly recommended!

The pool is exceptional (very large with many special features). The location is close to a number of National Park Beaches. Restaurant was very good for the few meals we ate there. My favorite feature for this hotel was the exceptional Nature Trail they carved into the jungle. The trail is about a mile long and is very well done. Gives you a close up look at the jungle with minimal effort.
