Good location, very central and close to everything - it was also across the street from a little grocery store. I was able to check in early which was helpful. It was useful to have a bathroom and shower attached to the dorm room (soap and towels could've improved the bathroom though).

Stunning island setting with view to Isletas and towards Mount Mombacho on the other side of the island. It felt magical as we were the sole visitors. The room was well appointed and luxurious. A shame our hi-tech shower had no hot water, for this price I expect a high end bathroom experience, the water was cold the mini bar was empty and no tea/coffee making facility. The staff however were friendly.

I have never seen so many rude, contemptuous residents in most of the center city. They make Parisians look like a welcoming committee. They make a habit of fleecing tourists, both our hostel front desk and a food kiosk blatantly charged us more than they were supposed to and we witnessed atrocious behavior toward other tourists. Maybe 5% of the people we interacted with were friendly.
Service was comically bad in the restaurants we visited. They have plenty of tourists, but haven't learned much in the way of hospitality yet. Grocery stores are expensive with poor selections.
Arriving into Managua was not at all bad. And we are finding San Juan del Sur a joy, although this too is fairly pricey bc of all the American and Canadian tourists. Restaurant food was much higher quality and better value, service was great and everyone has been so very friendly.
So, really, all of our bad experiences were in Granada. I have no intention of returning and don't plan to recommend it to anyone. I hope to have a chance to see more of Managua before I leave.

Granada is a bustling city with nice people.
Granada is a bustling city with nice people. We like the fact that we were close to stores, markers, banks, parks etc..
What we did not like, is that there are no street signs, and since we were driving, we got lost a few times. Also, the beach was picturesque but unfortunately it was littered with garbage everywhere. It was very disappointing.

The churches and the restaurants.
The churches and the restaurants. There was a variety of restaurants and very reasonable prices. It was easy and inexpensive to get a cab home after dinner if we did not want to walk back to the hotel.
The friendliness and hospitality of the people was amazing.

It is an old city with a lot of old historic buildings. The infrastructure definitely needs upgrading. I have heard many good things about the beach area but I did not go to the beach. There are some sketchy areas at night time. So we did not leave on foot at night. if anyone had a reason to go to Granada I would definitely recommend the Hotel Jardin De Granada.

Great town, unique colonial history and architecture.
Great town, unique colonial history and architecture. Granada is on the huge lake and many interesting volcanic islands that you can visit. A great city for biking, black market and "ramba" walking/dining area behind the beautiful Cathedral. Warning: city square park is beautiful but very crowded esp w aggressive and nasty taxi drivers. Many language schools and American backpackers. Realtively cheap restaurants.
One the best hotels we stayed in in Central America! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful palm trees, tranquil pool area, the decor was like an old colonial mansion. The staff are super friendly and so helpful with anything you need. The rooms are large, very clean, spacious, super comfy beds, great a/c, strong wifi for work, and the showers had awesome pressure and great hot water. Breakfast spread was so good. And the location is right in the middle of the central park and walkable to all the main attractions. Highly recommend!
Everything was perfect. This was a bed and breakfast vibe. they did such a good job making it super tranquil. The breakfast was good. One day they had pancakes but my husband has celiac so they gave us bowls of fruits instead which was much appreciated. We loved that our room had a shelf to hold our bags and hang out clothes.
Carlos gave us a tour and history of Granada by car. he is a lovely host.
We slept well. The rooms stayed dark so it was easy to sleep in. Minutes front he square by foot. I really enjoyed our stay.
Staying in Granada was great and staying in Il Padrino was definitely a highlight of our stay in Nicaragua. The hotel owners are super friendly, always there to help their guests. They recommended us really nice restautrants and booked a tour for us. Room was very pretty, clean, comfortable and it was quiet. It is surrounded by plants and it makes he stay soooo relaxing. Breakfast was always delicious. Location of the hotel is just great- it is very peaceful and quiet, but at the same time very close to the city center.
Casa del Agua it’s absolutely a gem! a colonial style, full of great colors, and in the center of the city. The house is located in the middle of granada, just one block from the main square, so you can walk everywhere.
Gerry and his family are very welcoming, and it’s interesting to hear his stories and passion for Nicaragua. Plus, he can give you great local advises about where to go in the city!
We spent lovely days at casa del agua, we will definitely come back, thanks Gerry!
First and foremost, Esther the hotel manager is amazing. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, provide interesting suggestions for activities, even invited the spa ladies in for us to have mani pedis in the open air courtyard. The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. Hazel the cook and cleaner is amazing and prepares a delicious breakfast. If you are looking for a small boutique colonial hotel experience, you can't go wrong with Casa Cubana.
The room was big, clean, air conditioning really cold, the beds very comfortable, the sheets really comfy. Everything in the room was excellent. The breakfast in the morning super good. Carlos was very helpful in making sure everything we needed. If you need a taxi ask Carlos. The rest of the staff very helpful very good customer service and respectful. I recommend hotel plaza colon for your stay. Next time I am in granada i will definetly stay at this hotel.
This was the perfect way to end our trip through Central America. It’s a really charming boutique hotel with a lovely courtyard that gives the feeling of staying in your private villa / little oasis in the middle of Granada, for a very reasonable price. The superior King room was superb, with a lovely pool right in front of the room. The AC worked well and it was quiet, so we slept well. And all the staff were wonderful.
The breakfast was very tasty, hot and served right on time. The hotel is a gorgeous colonial-style mansion that is well preserved and beautifully decorated. The pool is a great addition because Granada can be very hot during the day, so it's perfect to cool off after walking around the city. I really appreciated the help from the two guys working at the reception - very attentive and accomodating.
This hotel is a real secret gem in Granada. The rooms are located in an incredible garden, far from the city noise, like you were outside of the city - but you are in the city center. The apartament is well equipped with everything, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Marton and Monica, the hosts are extremely kind snd helpful. The breakfasr was amazing - probably the best hotel in the city.
Very cosy, beautiful and tranquil hotel. The staff is very attentive, the breakfast tasty. The room was beautifully designed and superclean, it had a hot shower and very good mosquito nets around the bed. We would definitely reccommend coming to this lovely place when you visit Granada. The quality you get for the price is just outstanding.
Oh and the swimming pool is the perfect temperature!
Casa Babu is a beautiful colonial house and has been refurnished immaculately. Every attention to detail has been taken into consideration. From the Candle lit pool at night, candy on the pillow to the crepes at breakfast. The location was perfect, quiet but central and short walk to the main square and several nice restaurants. Yves the owner and host was knowledgable and helpful.
Hotel is very well located, not in the very center but near parque central by foot.
Very clean hotel, food is amazing, especially breakfast and cocktails. Nice and pretty cold swiming pool, useful for Granada heat.
Staff very available and with good taxi partner to get you to volcan masaya.
We were able to securely park our car, and to bring it early morning before we checked in that afternoon. The property and neighborhood are quiet and calm. The rooms, pool, staff, and breakfast were excellent. Also, in Granada, nice to be outside at a pool and yard in the middle of the city.
Marcia and Micheal, the owners, a Swiss-Guatemalan couple, are more than nice, extremely helpful and caring, as well as their personnel. The hotel is modern with a hot shower and high water pressure, which is really not standard in Nicaragua. It is a little oasis in the middle of Granada.
Absolutely everything. The hotel. The pool. The breakfast. Yves (the owner). All of it was perfect.
Yves couldn't have done more for us and is such a joy to speak to. The location is perfect and so quiet. The rooms are gorgeous and the 3 course breakfast is fab.
Naturally the stuff was very polite .
They clean the room everyday .
This is a normal hotel similar in price and in appearance as other in Granada Nicaragua . Please note ;
I'm staying an extra two days .
Best of all the breakfast was delicious :)
Casa Delias is located a few minutes from Granada's cathedral. It's a colonial house with a nice garden and quiet rooms. It's convenient and you can use their patio and kitchen too. The owners are really friendly.
Great little hotel right in the center of Granada. Front desk and restaurant staff were super accommodating and welcoming. Strong WiFi and nice little pool area to relax. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Beautiful colonial hotel ten minute walk from the centre of Granada, excellent clean and large rooms and the staff could not have been more helpful, they were just the best
