Its a afantastic city if you have the time to just walk around and absorb the ambience. The people are very friendly once you get to know them. You should definitely visit Miski bar next to Panjim Post office and try their Beef / Chicken cafreal sandwich as well as the prawn cafreal and do not leave the city without trying goa's local beer People's. As a woman, I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe with the men they allow inside the hotel - just sitting around men sitting around lobby staring. Even at dinner at the hotel, we had the same experience - with extremely cheap men sitting around and just staring at women like we were there for their entertainment. The hotel also lies about cab services for guests, insisting that you only use cab services run by thugs - stationed outside the premises. They charge extremely high rates and are complete bullies. All you need to do is walk up the street to the high way and you can take far more reasonable cabs/ taxis - but the hotel doesnt even infrom you about this. Shows how much they value their customers and a basic level of customer service. Pathetic customer service by double tree by Hilton Panaji. Do not waste your time at this hotel.
