Ella has the most spectacular location, really gorgeous.
Ella has the most spectacular location, really gorgeous. The train trip was wonderful. The waterfalls all around are lovely. The stores in town were fun. But we were surprised by how many tourists there were, how crowded and overdeveloped. The giant outdoor screens, the competing loud music, the catering to western travelers made it less fun than other areas of Sri Lanka.

Nice little town, you can do some nice outdoor activity such as trekking to little Adam’s pick and zip line, see the waterfall, the famous nine arch bridge, enjoy some good meals in one of the restaurants on the main road. Rice&curry at the Chill cafè is very good, the dream cafe has an international cuisine so I had a chicken wrap also really good, instead at The Barn I had a really good overnight oat breakfast. You can also take a cooking class some restaurants offer this activity three times a day 11am, 4pm and 7pm or you can also enjoy a yoga class usually you don’t need to book classes are at 8 am or 4 pm. In my opinion one night and a full day is enough to visit the main things.

This is such a nice town, good and plenty of food options. Lots of bars and the surrounding is very beautiful. You get spoiled here with waterfalls, hikes and so much greenery. Ella is a chilled laid back kind of place like Bali used to be, However the TukTuk Mafia are despicable rude, price gouging and trying to rip off every tourist. If you go to Ella take your own transport. You can rent your own TukTuks and Scooters. I encourage people to use Uber andPickme it works in Colombo. Honest TukTuk drivers are bullied in Ella As well as other tourist hubs in Sri Lanka.

Good starting place for visiting the mountain area of the country. Downtown noisy and inundated with tourists. Those who want a quieter but equally stunning settling but somewhat more limited in amenities may do better staying in a smaller and nearby setting. If you are taking the amazing train ride, do so ‘backwards’ and start in Ella area.Jeffrey

Nimal is one of the best hosts in the business; he sent a list of things he could help with before we got to his hotel and indeed he booked a trip for us to Yala National Park and Diyaluma Falls. He even helped us with finding a ride from Ella to our next stop, what more could we ask for? We enjoyed his conversation during our stay for 3 days in Ella and genuinely thank his supportive and helpful attitude during our stay.

Manager Lahiru and his team of staff look after every guests' needs. All rooms come with tea, coffee making facilities, and bathroom toiletteries are provided. The infinity pool is located on top of a hill. It's absolutely stunning. Anyone can spend the whole day. Highly recommended.

This place is.very affordable, cosy, family run house that is directly in the city of Ella. Rooms are adequate with.ensuite in all three rooms. Large fridge is available. Sudha, the owner, is lovely and spent time to chat with us. She is.very friendly and helpful and also prepares the awesome breakfasts we had. It is a two minute walk to the centre and four minutes to the train station. Highly recommend.

Great location only 1.2km from Ella town so only 500 in a tuk tuk. Beautiful view of the waterfall and you can see the train track from the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
