    We booked only one night in Negombo, to be close to the airport, as we were flying home the next day. The room was very spacious and clean. We did not take breakfast, as had to leave at 6am for the airport. We would be happy to visit Negombo again, and hopefully spend a little longer there.

    Did not get to see much of Negombo. It was a very nice hotel I booked a two bed room and I got exactly what I asked for. Next time I would like to get something closer to reception. The toilet , hot water and pressure was great. We enjoyed our short stay.

    Negombo is in two parts.

    Negombo is in two parts. I was in a district of Negombo, close to the airport not in Negombo itself. I did not realise this nor was it made clear. I thought the hotel was an airport transit hotel. It wasn't t as it offered no shower and change facilities once you checked out. The reception area was tiny. There was no comfortable area to sit,no outside space. I had too long from checkout to my flight. I therefore had to pay to keep my room on. There was quite a walk to Browns beach, few shops and restaurants along the way. No signs either to the beach..If you require a hotel overnight, free airport shuttle and you have a decent flight time then the hotel would be okay. Otherwise I would not recommend as there is nothing to do at the hotel and restricted to other amenities.

    This is usually the first stop arriving to Sri Lanka or the last stop on the way back to the airport. However, Negombo has the potential to be a destination in itself. The beaches are not bad (may not be as good as down south), nice beach front cafes, restaurants and deck chairs to chill with a drink and watch the sunsets. Diving is possible during the season (not mid April to Sept). Lots of cafes and restaurants with variety of food (local, western, Asian and middle eastern). Stays can be in hostels, small family run hotels or 4 & 5 star hotel chains. Negombo has the canals, churches, Buddhist temples and Hindu Temples to explore. Negombo town is not as busy as Colombo, but has everything you need. Train and main Bus terminal will take you to all destinations within the country, not forgetting the proximity to the International airport. Recommend 2 to 3 full days.

    20 minutes from the airport.

    20 minutes from the airport. I got in at 3am and didn't want to travel 1 hour+ to get to Colombo. Stayed in Negombo. Much quieter than Colombo. Price was great too! Negombo is a nice Colonial city, with beautiful churches, an amazing Buddist temple, boat ride around the lagoon, lots to see.

    Unfortunately due to my recovering from two breaks (ankle and femur) I wasn't able to get to the beach so I can't give you an account but it did look pretty wicked, as for negumbo resort what a great place to get a very relaxing holiday, really good bars with all the latest music and serious food in the restaurant's. You can't go wrong with a stay in negumbo

    Hans and Chamara are exceptional hosts. We spent two nights here after flying into Sri Lanka from London. I chose Ziegler Cottage for its proximity to the airport. They organised a driver to pick us up from the airport and we dined on the most exquisite Sri Lankan food at the hotel. We even woke up late one morning (thanks jet lag) and missed the allotted breakfast time but Chamara still prepared it for us and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. There is a lovely pool and the quiet beach is at the end of the garden.

    We started and finished our trip here in Negombo and absolutely loved the nature villa. It offers very comfortable and clean rooms with lovely interior and even a coffee/tea facility was provided. The villa also offers a great pool to relax. Also we enjoyed the amazing breakfast which let no wishes open. The beach, restaurants and supermarkets can be easily reached in walking distance. The owners are so welcoming and supportive at all times, we felt like home and will definitely stay here again once we come back to Sri Lanka.

    A really great first night in Sri Lanka. We made use of the restaurant and spa facilities which I'd absolutely recommend! The food was excellent and they had an acoustic guitarist/singer in the restaurant which really added to the atmosphere. We had amazing massages in the spa for a really good price. The staff were attentive and polite and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is easily walkable to the beach but we only stayed in negombo for one night so didn't explore too much. All round, happy with my experience

    Our stay was a wonderful welcome into Sri Lanka! The hotel organized our collection from the airport and we were greeted with delicious fresh juice on arrival. All the family welcomed us and treated us like we were family. The homemade breakfast was tasty .very comfortable beds as well, quiet area. We were brought on a tour of the nearby lagoon was a very beautiful place to go in Negombo. They couldn't have done more for us! Thank you so much for everything!

    Great place! Strongly recommend it if you are staying Negombo and especially if you've just arrived in Sri Lanka because Yohan is so incredibly helpful. And when I left some stuff behind Yohan was able to put it away for safekeeping until I could get back to Negombo to pick it up too. Rooms are good, AC works well making for some comfortable nights. Filtered water is available for free as well (as is as much tea as you want)

    Great hotel for a comfortable stay in Negombo. I liked the rooftop area with a bar and an infinity pool - nice place to watch sunsets or just chill. Conveniently organized PCR test - same price as at clinics + small (very reasonable) fee for medics to come over to the hotel. Rooms are super clean (loved it!) and comfortable with everything you may need. Aircon and wifi work very well. It's a very good value for money.

    Regal Resau is a very well appointed newish hotel on the Negombo beach strip. The infinity pool on the 7th floor next to the bar is a winner and the restaurant below has an amazing view and ambiance. The extensive snack and dining menu is very good and available all day which is a bonus. The beds are the best I ever have slept in in Sri Lanka and the room is very comfortable. Staff are helpful and friendly.

    Had a really nice stay at Ayur Ayur in negombo. The staff were so welcoming and helpful at all times. The breakfast was exceptional, a great selection of foods. Our room was really comfortable and the Aircon was great. The pool was so nice after a humid day! We had no problems with the current situation in Sri Lanka. We would definitely visit again. The property was a 5 min walk to the beach too.

    So glad we chose this hotel on our last day in Sri Lanka! The room itself was clean and very comfy and bathroom was spotless. You can tell they take good care of the property. It sits across from a field where you can watch the sunset. On top of all this, the owner was kind and hospitable which made our stay even better. A short 20 min tuktuk ride to the airport.

    We landed early evening after an overnight flight, this was a good choice for our first night in Sri Lanka. The hotel is on the beach and the rooms were comfortable. They have a very interesting bar area.

    Nice beachfront hotel in Negombo. We booked the family room, it was comfortable enough for five of us and has a big swimming pool too. Overall worth what you spent there.
