Perfect location, nice hotel and good service. Staff is friendly and helpful, and management is outstanding (we had an issue, which was handled by the management as should be in all hotels).
The modern Panorama Resort hotel is located directly at Štrbské Pleso. A wellness area with Finnish, steam, and infrared saunas can be found on the ground floor just behind the reception.

Unique building in a great location below the Tatras mountains. If you're a fan of modern architecture, you should visit! The room was excellent with views - I went at a quiet time so was lucky to receive an upgrade. Comfortable bed and the bathroom well equipped. The breakfast was good too. Also, if you enjoy wintersports / hiking, then Štrbské Pleso is q good destination and a bit different too. Highly recommend.

I think what has been lately updated is WI-FI quality in the establishment. Good food in the restaurant is also a big +

I was up in the mountains so didn't see much of the towns. I got the little train up from Stary Smokoviec and went for shopping in Strbske Pleso. Neither town appeals to me but Popradske Pleso is gorgeous. One of my favourite places in the Tatras.

Every morning, I woke up to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, which were often shrouded in mist, creating an ethereal atmosphere. The fresh air and cool temperatures made hiking and outdoor activities a real treat.

A beautiful village at the foot of the Tatras by a beautiful lake. In the vicinity of the ski slope, many trails for walking and cycling. There are several hotels, restaurants and shops by the lake. An ideal place for a few-day trip, both in winter and summer.

Great trails, both half-day or full day, from moderate to slightly challenging (especially for anyone with mobility issues). Skok waterfall trail is terrific. Jamske Pleso trail is flatter and less rough, but we did see a common viper on the trail and fresh bear poo!
The trail around Strbske Pleso lake itself is very enjoyable and scenic.
Furkotka restaurant (opposite Hotel Toliar) and Koliba Patria restaurant overlooking the lake we're terrific value and lovely food. Lary Fary cafe was a nice midday stop-off too, lovely hot chocolate and tea.

Strbske pleso itself is too touristy and developed.
Strbske pleso itself is too touristy and developed. The real value of this location is all the hiking that's possible in the area. The nature here is stunning. An easy one hour hike will take you to another lake called Popradske pleso and a further 90 minute hike (a bit more difficult) from there will take you to the largest lake Velke Hincovo pleso. That area is beautiful. It looks like something from The Lord of the Rings. There is also a great restaurant in Strbske pleso called Furkotka with great food and service.

This was our second stay. Deluxe apartments are spacy, well equipped, with nice view facing Solisko (although both rooms we stayed in (405 and 303) are facing the same direction, 405 has a slightly better view - especially from the bed where you see these beautiful mountains right when you open your eyes). Reception staff was very helpful and I really appreciate their attitude when we raised very specific parking requirements (lowered car). Great intimate wellness with 3 types of sauna and hot tube (paid extra).
The vila provides all the things you need for a trip to the mountains, and some useful things I didn't expect. For example, the larder of food donated by previous guests, and the glue on hand for fixing weather-beaten footwear. There is obviously a lot of thought that has gone in to the accommodation, which makes it feel very welcoming despite being basic. The host was very helpful advising on how best to explore the area. For the price, I don't think it can be beaten
The food was great, there was a lot of variety and it was tasty. Location was excellent, however at the hotel the parking was little limited. Fortunately there is a big parking lot right across from the hotel. We really enjoyed staying at the hotel with children because there were games. Especially mrs Solomon at the reception was very friendly and pleasant. We would come back again. The apartment was super spacious and comfortable.
Private apartment in a newly renovated residential block. It overexceeded our expectations regarding comfort and size. Really spacious, well equipped with everything you need, and modern. Very suitable for families with babies: we had a cot and even a baby feeding chair. It's not exactly by the lake but a 15 min walk away from Strbské pleso itself - from the map it seemed a bit closer but overall it wasn't an issue.
Location was good. The accommodation is an equivalent to the Youth hostel, basic but well managed and clean.
Sometime can be noisy (small children playing in the corridor or staircase)
The place population (of approx 300 local people) consists mainly of tourists in the hotels.
But still some cheaper eating facilities still exists near the railway station.
People are very nice. The tourist office is excellent.
A modernized panoramic hotel between the lake and the train station (Zubačka), right next to the hotel is a supermarket with basic food, fruit, vegetables, drinks and also souvenirs. Varied and rich breakfast, always fresh pastries (salty and sweet), plenty of food even before 10:00. Luxurious view (6th floor) of the High and Low Tatras. Excellent price/performance ratio.
Overall, we had a great time in Hotel Toliar. While breakfast could have had more vegetarian options, the room was very quiet and comfortable (with a balcony) and the hotel location was ideal to start the hike to Rysy. Also, there’s a nice supermarket downstairs, and the place is close to the train station, many restaurants and Štrbske pleso lake. Highly recommend!
Good location right next to a supermarket (located in the neighboring hotel) and a great restaurant (called Furkotka). Also very close to the Strbske pleso lake (2-3 min. walking). The room had a large balcony with great views. The hotel has wellness facilities (three saunas that cost 12 € and massages that cost 18 €).
The location was very good and my Slovak friend was happy to find shops and places to eat near the lake. The hotel provided good service and answered any questions. The room had a view of the mountains and the sunrise was spectacular. Breakfast was superior and the service provided by the staff excellent.
Perfect location for hiking Kôprovský štít, Rysy, Mengusovská or Zlomisková dolina. The full breakfast for 12 euro option was great value for money. More food than we could eat. Great for hiking groups that want to avoid the crowds in Štrbské Pleso.
Comfy & clean place with eco natural design & excellent location for exploring High Tatras. Enjoying morning coffee with magnificent mountain panorama including view of Krivan during sunrise was simply divine. Definitely place to come back.
The penzion is located in a quiet village and is excellent overall with easy access to the train that goes directly to Strbske Pleso. The proprietors are very friendly and accommodating, willing to help with anything.
The property location is perfect for hitting the slopes. The staff were great, breakfast was fresh, lots of choice and plentiful. The hotel is very clean and the bar is well stocked. The evening meals were tasty too!
