Very exciting little town with an authentic charm. The food and the wine are exquisite wherever you go, people are friendly and hospitable. I will return for sure to hike more around and eat more khachapuri and khinkali.

To be honest-it' just for hardcore travellers or backpackers yet. It's not an easy destination, they still need to improve in many ways. The people are very kind - but they are poor. There is rubbish everywhere - Sad to see it. But they are working on it, more and more attracions open every year for you to discover. The mountains are beautyful. If you don't expect too much, please support Georgia with your travel and money.

Great place especially the bridge & restaurants by the river .. 160 km away Uplistsikhe Cave Town is a must if travelling between TBILISI & KUTAISI. Food and restaurants are excellent in both. Ambience is great.

Very good place to chill out in. We were a couple and a Lady friend. Thank you. We were only there 2 days but will return.

The city is nice, but to be honest after time I regret that we did not went first to Batumi or Tibilisi. For me personally, this city is good but for 1 or max. 2 days of sightseeing, after more time I would get bored. The city is very old, sometimes you can feel that it is still not so adapted to the tourism. Nice place for people that are facinated about history and old buildings. Maybe in the summer it has more to offer. We went in March when there was nothing much to do.

To see:
To see:
Prometheus Cave (it is not as touristy as the negative reviews I read, and most of the caves are lit by white light with some colored lights so you see the natural rock colors - it is awesome, the size and formations)
Motsameta Monastery (beautiful, small, on a mountain with a frescoed church and views of more of the Caucasus and river...I heard Gelati is great too but did not see it)
Bagrati's Cathedral and the surrounding ruins, including kvevrebi (clay wine jars in the ground)
Kutaisi Botanical Garden (Bagrati is on the way to this, depending on where you stay), 5 lari admission fee (bring small bills - I found out not everyone has change for 100 lari)...beautiful and with an Orthodox shrine in a tree!
Bukioti (small, colorful cafe with cacao and of course coffee, tea, hot chocolate, as well as achma (a type of khachapuri made with puff pastry) and the best desserts (lava cake, apple dessert which is an air-fried apple filled with nuts and raisins, both topped with vanilla ice cream, and others)
El Paso restaurant - good khinkali
Kolkha Fountain that is in the city center (gold-toned animals with 2 horses on top and a lit in different colors at night)

Beautiful city. It was clean, friendly people.
Beautiful city. It was clean, friendly people. The food was amazing. We went during the winter so the snow was great and everything was running smoothly. Most of the places to visit are at most 1 hour away. Would recommend to go with the local tour guide rather than driving yourself just because the streets and signals are not clear for a foreigner. Food and ticket entries are very affordable. For a trip for a family of 5 people, we did not waste more than 1000 euros
Stayed here with two of my friends before flying out of Kutaisi. I wished we had spent more nights here as the view is very beautiful it is by the Rioni river. We had a balcony as well in our room so it was perfect to have coffee on it in the morning. Elsa was a very kind and communicative hostess. She helped us with anything we wanted. I also loved that the room we booked had plastic slippers for us to use. The location is also very near the city centre. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Kutaisi, definitely pick Gantiadi Hotel.
We loved Teo! She was wonderful. She arranged airport pick up and drop off for us. We were greeted with some homemade wine and snacks. She helped us arrange a car rental so we could explore Georgia. We had a great breakfast and on the last morning she made us a packed lunch as we had to leave very early.
The Balcony Hotel is close to the centre of Kutaisi and we were able to explore the town on foot. What an amazing atmosphere and wonderful owners! Thank you Teo, you made our stay in Kutaisi memorable!
The room was huge compared to average hotels. It had everything I needed. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Air conditioner worked. Internet was fast and reliable. The hotel manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, very quiet yet still a short walk to the city center and a very very short walk to the railway station. Probably the best place to stay if you're taking the train to Tbilisi the next day. All in all it was probably my best stay in Georgia so far.
Hotel "Elena" is located close to the Kutaisi old town, next to the fountain - a great place for walking.
Both - the hotel room and the bathroom - are very clean! When we couldn't find the entrance to the hotel, we were greeted and accompanied by a very helpful hotel host.
Nika served us delicious homemade wine at the hotel, offered coffee, tea, took us to the airport at night - so kind and helpful person.
All the best recommendations!
I didn’t expect the hotel comparing with the price! First let us not say Hotel! It’s a motel!! It’s like you’re in relative’s home! If we come back late we need to wait till someone opens for us! They did not clean the room when we were out !! The breakfast is so poor! Only 2 staff and they don’t speak English !!! Rooms quite small !! I don’t recommend and won’t come back if I visit Kutaisi again
I and my family were in Kutaisi for one night and stayed in the excellent Hotel Goldenera. I am very happy that in our country is a Hotel like this with exceptional Hostess Nino. Clean, nice, and cozy rooms to stay in in Winter, but I think I will come back again. Recommend to all guests from Georgia and around the world.
Ramaz is an amazing and lovely host, he lifted us from the airport and then helped us find an apartment for a 3rd night, also helped us to book a car.
The welcome gift was a bottle of Georgian wine.
The world needs more people like Ramaz, we will sure be back one day, it was one of the best experiences we've ever had.
Great room, very friendly guesthouse in an excellent location in Kutaisi. Fantastic Georgian breakfasts. Very grateful to the guesthouse for organising my transfer from Kutaisi airport and receiving me at an inconvenient time in the middle of the night. All in all excellent, would totally recommend.
It was the best experience to sleep with natural sounds of the river! You need to know that it is not Four Seasons net of hotels, but this hotel is all about comfort and good staying🔥 Grigori, thanks for your attention and information about Kutaisi and Georgia👍 There is a good parking and piano😍
The hotel is pretty simple but comfortable.Good location in the heart of old Kutaisi.
What actually makes it special is the staff. The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. We had late transfer to the airport. She organised us coffee and homemade cake.
Good location of hotel if you have early flight from Kutaisi airport. Taxi to airport costs ~30 lari and it takes ~20 min.
Hotel is clean and comfortable. Good price / value ratio.
Nice garden with pool and tree house although we didn't try as it was winter.
The property is managed by the lovely family. It has a beautiful view, tasty food, and kind service. I had the best sleep and it was a perfect runaway from the cities. Kutaisi has a beautiful soul and staying at hotel Tskhumi was an experience of that soul.
Great location, brand new, modern hotel overall, very clean and cozy rooms, delicious breakfast, very helpful and supportive personnel at the reception. We were also offered a free transfer to the airport which is very nice from the hotel's side
The owners were the nicest ever, they warmly welcomed me, made breakfast in the morning (which was awesome) and even got a cab for me to the airport. Best value for money you can find in Kutaisi, if not Georgia. Will surely be coming back!
Everything was great it was one of the best hotels we stayed in in Georgia. Big room we had all the facilities we needed & the owner is very friendly & he brought us homemade breakfast his wife made every morning & it was so delicious.
The best Georgian breakfast you can ever had: georgian aroma tea with lobiani
Great host, very eager to help always
Can meet you upon the arrival at the airport and bring you to the check-in upon your departure
Pleasant, clean hotel with attentive staff. Very good value for money. Well situated hotel for travellers who just need to stay overnight before their departure from Kutaisi airport.
Cute hotel in kutaisi every room has its bathroom and the price is amazing! Good value! A cute doggo will great you and make sure the guests will enter and leave the hotel safely
