I went there on a business trip, but loved the whole experience! The Bloemfontein community great you with a smile and are humble. The business community value your time and are grateful for the efforts put in to meet with them.
There town is rich with history and old buildings used for office space. I loved the old buildings with original oregan pine floors and pressed ceilings. The clean double roads are easy to navigate.
What started as a normal business trip ended with me feeling energetic and humbled by the experience as a whole. I'll be back Bloemfontein!

We were pleasantly surprised by Bloemfontein.
We were pleasantly surprised by Bloemfontein. It is clean and neat. The Botanical gardens are absolutely beautiful. Extremely well cared for - definitely worth a visit. Oliewenhuis art museum is free (R10 parking fee only) and lovely for a visit and a picnic in the grounds.
Nice restaurants; good malls; traffic not too bad at the time we visited.
I'd recommend Haru Sushi restaurant.
Tempe golf club at the Tempe Military Base (open to the public) was an unexpected find - cheap round of golf on a nice course.
Disappointed that the planetarium visitors centre doesn't seem to be open, most days of the week; it only opens for special viewings.
Naval Hill worth a visit - friendly ostriches and beautiful views.

I lived in Bloem for 9 years, it was great in the 90's.

Unfortunately, the city has deteriorated massively.
I would not go to Bloemfontein for leisure or tourism.
It is central to stop on the way to/from somewhere or if you have some work / business / family-event to attend to.
Great place to shoot a dystopic movie seen!

I love the city and especially the fabulous friends and family who live in Bloem - not exactly a holiday destination but defnitely the place to visit for cricket or rugby games.
Traveling around is easy and getting to Bloem is very easy on the highway
Stunning Guest House in a VERY convenient location. Without a doubt one of the best guest houses in Bloemfontein! The towels were so soft along with the luxurious complimentary soap amenities were a great bonus. Beautiful kitchen and living area with a smart TV to stream Netflix, Dstv and Youtube at your convenience. The outside braai area is wonderful. The unit has privacy, is quiet and exceeded our expectations by far. The hosts put a lot of effort in to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Simply the best in Bloem!
The hosts was very welcoming and the staff were so helpful. The rooms are very beautiful and morden. I stayed in the Executive King Suite and room was very luxurious the best I have ever stayed it. The rooms are well equipped. I honestly recommend this place. The bed was comfortable and had electricity blankets. I am definitely making this my place to stay when I am in Bloemfontein. The place is a bit out of town but very safe and peaceful.Everything about the place was perfect.
Just perfect, a fantastic experience from the CREDO Guest House. The owner there was just incredible friendly, and I feel warm welcome there. I am pretty sure I will come back visit the property again! Moreover, the most remarkable thing is the Preller Square is just walking distance far from this 🏨 hotel. You can buy some high classed food from the Woolth shop and cook inside the house, enjoy the leisure.
Svetlana's hearty homely and delicious breakfast. We were then scheduled to leave for Johannesburg. The owner, Nicolas, took the time to explain to us the wonders of Bloemfontein and even its sad history that should never be forgotten.
I gained one more precious memory that I could never get by staying at a big hotel. I love South Africa even more because it has such wonderful people.
*We traveled with 2 of our grand children. After a long trip they had space and interesting things to explore.
*we did'nt feel boxed in, although the space indide is limited.
* we felt save.
*linnen and interior simple, clean, interesting.
*home, far away from home
* near N1-we didn't need to strugle though Bloemfontein.
* enough space between the chalets.
On arrival, the basement parking is secure & convenient. Staff from reception to dining were wonderful!
The room was very clean & tidy; I loved the handwritten welcome card, the BON Hotel hat & hot sauce which I took away as souvenirs.
Breakfast was great; exactly if not better than I had seen online
Hidden treasure in Bloemfontein. We really enjoyed our stay. Very hospitable host Lizelle & Andre. Receptionist was very pleasant & extended help to us whenever we needed it. A home away from home. The place also has beautiful animals. Breakfast was excellent.
It was our second time staying at Stonehill Villa and will never stay at any other place in Bloemfontein. The rooms are nice and spacious, with self catering facilities. The hostess that welcomed us and the morning staff were extremely friendly and helpful!
I loved the location, close to a mall and not far from restaurants. The facilities were amazing, and in the heat of a Bloemfontein summer it was wonderful to have airconditioning. Beautifully designed and decorated and the bathroom was lovely too.
Price quality it was a good offer for me. However, this is more a place to stay (cheap) if you work in Bloemfontein for some time.
There was a good airco/heater which helped a lot during winter.
Good location. Close to restaurants and bars.
When we came to the hotel at 1.30am after long car trip, we couldn’t check-in in case of downshift system of manager. we had to wait about 15 mins — so terrible
In all of 3 rooms were dirty glasses and dirty towels
