Second stay at Chalets Chamarel, unbelievable location with the best views where the mountains le morne meets the sea- you also have view of some of the islands too ile aux benetiers (spelling?)- picture perfect location. Quiet stay, breakfast and dinner included. Room is spacious with comfortable bed and large bathroom. Breakfast and dinner superb. Wifi not the best in the location but not a big issue for us as we enjoyed some disconnected time.

Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, hotel in Chamarel

Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is located on Mauritius' le Morne Peninsula.

The beach and setting in which the hotel is located is absolutely stunning. The clarity of the sea, and the way that the palm trees meet the ocean - all with the backdrop of Le Morne - is idyllic. The gym and sports facilities are excellent, with separate rooms for resistance/ weight training, cardio machines and a standalone mirrored studio. There are 2 table tennis tables and (if I recall correctly) 6 tennis courts. Staying at Paradis Beachcomber means that you also have access to the facilities and restaurants of the sister hotel next door, Dinarobin Beachcomber. Some of the staff are helpful, with special shout outs to Anne-Kate, Farudh, Manoj, Bass and Mary J.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, really nice restaurants. The gardens are beautiful, the room is big, though little too dark. We had amazing days there. You have also the possibilities to do snorkeling, stand up paddle and other kind of stuffs. The spa is also great. Check in process could bet a little bit faster.

Tamassa Bel Ombre, hotel in Chamarel

Tamassa Bel Ombre is a 4* Superior resort offering the best All Inclusive experience on the south coast of Mauritius.

The staff were very attentive and helpful wherever you were (restaurant, beach, bar etc.) They had a good eye for detail and made it a really pleasant experience to be at the hotel. The food options were good and we liked the 3.30 afternoon tea which helped with the gap between lunch and dinner (we have 2 young children) The burger truck is a nice touch and so is the ice cream parlour. There's access to refill your water on the beach which is handy. The kids loved the outdoor big games too. We didn't get chance to do the activities but appreciated the offer.

Tam Studio, hotel in Chamarel

Tam Studio offers barbecue facilities, as well as accommodation with free WiFi and a kitchen in La Gaulette. Complimentary private parking is available on site.

We spent 15 days in the apartment. Everything was perfectly fine, during our stay the equipment in the bathroom and toilet were even replaced with more comfortable ones, and all this only because the owner maintains the house excellently. We also had a rented car from the host and unfortunately someone broke into it near the store. The owner of the house is a complete professional and by the morning he sorted everything out with the police and they caught the culprit. The apartment is equipped with everything you need, including air conditioning. We felt completely safe here. We can only recommend. The apartment was cleaned every day and towels were changed every other day. It was an absolutely exceptional stay for us and our 4-year-old son. From the apartment, we made trips all over the island and the vast majority on the recommendation of the lady who handed over the car to us. The overall impression of our stay is excellent. There is nothing we can fault. We wish many, many satisfied tourists and good luck. We thank Mr. Razz and his family for a pleasant vacation. We will definitely be back.

Chamarel is a small cosy village which is not highly populated. So the houses are quite scattered and this gives the impression of space and lots of nature around. There were also many small local restaurants that serve local food which is quite affordable for most.

There are no supermarkets nor ATM, no sidewalks so you are out at your own risk amongst the crazy drivers. There is no good value place to stay in Chamarel so the attractions are best visited by sleeping somewhere else and renting a car. Don't miss 7 colour earth, cascade, Ebony forest: do them all in one go since you have to pay to get into the park that leads to all three.

The visit to the Chamarel rhumerie is a must.

The visit to the Chamarel rhumerie is a must. The production chain is well exposed, side by side, to the visitors area. The waterfall is beautiful. Don't forget to climb the stairs for an even better view. The seven colours is very well managed and easy to reach but overall we found it a bit disappointing after all the publicity that we had seen. The curious corner is funny and a 'to do' when you're travelling with children.
