Situated in Tangalle, a few steps from Wella Odaya Beach, Ananya Beach Resort features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

This was (as already six years before) our highlight of our Sri Lanka travel. The hotel is so beautiful, right at the beach. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room were clean and big, we had booked sea view and it was stunning! We will definitely come again for our third time.

Be one of the first guests at this newly renovated colonial home. This home has air-conditioned rooms with its own private bathroom.

We took the Honeymoon bedroom ( even if it wasn’t our honeymoon) because the room had a beautiful terrace with sea view. It was clean and pretty big !

The place is just a few steps away from the beach. We just jumped in and had a sea bath whenever we wanted. There was AC and Hot water in our room. Didn't expect that. Really worth the money. There was a pool table in the bar and fellow travelers stop by to play pool and vibe. Had a wonderful time and hoping to return again soon.

    The town has very little to offer.

    The town has very little to offer. It’s a noisy, chaotic typical Sri Lankan town. The only redeeming factor was Silent Beach on the Western side of town. We also enjoyed a nice meal at Cactus Lounge.

    I liked the size of the city - just right to walk anywhere, plenty of options to buy fresh fruit, fish and good local food. The bus stand was easy to be found. There were always tuk tuk drivers around for when you needed it, but sometimes they were too eager to give you a ride even if you didn't want to. The city always felt safe, even at night.. even for a solo traveling young woman. There was a great food booth near the bus stand selling the best shawarma ever! There were plenty of beautiful beaches around, but the sea was too stormy. Nearby in Kapuhenwalla is a good turtle conservation project, where you could go see turtles hatch and lay eggs. I am definitely coming back~

    Tangalle is really nice but it is far better just 2/3 kilometres up the coast at Marocolyia beach and lagoon.Very peaceful and tranquil. This where Coconut Island cabanas is.There is also a small lake about 200 meters from the accommodation which is full with wading birds.Flamingos,Sacred and Glossy Ibis etc etc.

    We were planning to stay 2 days we stayed 5 days :) We didn’t want to leave. It’s a real hidden garden with full of nature and full of good people. I am working remotely and the family makes everything easy for me. The pool, rooms and everything is super clean. If we can manage to come back to Tangalle one day, we would definetly stay in Hidden Garden again. In 3 weeks trip of Sri Lanka, so far it was the best place! Thank you for everything. And Brunoooo, I love you smelly boy 💜

    While the property and the location are both great, the best part about our stay was meeting the owners of Sasagara. The family who own the property are lovely and charming, they helped us plan our days in Tangalle and serve a tasty breakfast and dinner. The space is nice for interacting with other patrons if you like but also very easy to stay private if that is what you're after. The beach is also only a 30 second walk away. One of our best stays in Sri Lanka so far!

    We absolutely loved our stay at Seven Turtles and didn’t want to leave, every little thing was perfect. Our room looked out over the beach and had such a calming feeling. The hotel staff are so incredibly helpful and the food from the hotel restaurant was possible the best we had in the whole of Sri Lanka, breakfast/dinner was delicious with a huge menu to pick from. For such a high end hotel the value for money is unreal! Only hope we get the chance to stay again.

    We never planned to go to Tangalle. Reading the reviews of this property put Tangalle on the radar for us. I read somewhere that Nick (the owner) once said: “I became utterly mesmerized by the chaotic beauty of this island and its peoples’ great charm. From that moment my head, heart, body and soul took root here…” I believe, a part of us took root at Buckingham Place. We shall return. And you, yes you reading this, get your butt over there ASAP!

    Location is amazing, nearest place to the best beach in Sri Lanka. For us it become not just hotel but our temporary "home" where you always feels welcome. Tharu and Raji cook best food in Sri Lanka! You can feel Sri Lanka ONLY if you live nearby or with Sri Lanka people.     We had a wonderful stay with Sanu and Dashun. The villa is beautiful, clean, nice and quiet but close to many restaurants and stunning beaches. However, the best thing about this place are the hosts themselves. From the minute we arrived they were so welcoming and made our trip not only in Tangalle but the rest of our Sri Lanka adventure one to remember.     Our best stay during our time in Sri Lanka. This budget guesthouse was really a lot for the money. Staff was super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The room had everything we needed, two beds, ac, fan, working desk, 2 showers (one hot and one cold). This place is right by the beach in a chill and quiet area of Tangalle just 10 min walk from the centre. Also great sri lankan breakfast here!

    We had nice accommodation in the evening, the air conditioning broke down without any problems, at 22:30 in the evening they gave us the same room. The place is excellent, the beach is just 100m from the accommodation, it is beautiful. The staff was very helpful, we were very satisfied. I recommend this is the second hotel I have visited in Sri Lanka well deserved 10 points. Great everything. Thank you.

    If you wanna have a real Sri Lankan experience this is the place to be. The host and his family were super nice to us and provided with everything we wished for.     Very nice place in quiet neighbourhood, 2 minutes walk to the beautiful and empty beach (the best beach we saw on the island). Good breakfast. Large and clean room, hot water and small tarrace. Close to the hotel there are some bars and restaurants- in one of them we ate the best food on our trip to Sri Lanka.

    The best hotel I've ever been to. Lakshitha is the sweetest and most accommodating host. He cooked us the fish we caught on the lagoon. He told us when to go to the nearby beach to see turtles.     I am a Sri Lankan who live in Germany and this is my second experience with Sanjis. - Perfect hideaway people who looking for serenity out of tourists packed areas -Staff is super friendly and so helpful - You can have a candle-light dinner right next to the beach which is so spectacular.

    The room is spacious and well decorated. The bed is comfy, there is warm water with enough water pressure. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and the outside area is also very nice. Probably the best hotel in Sri Lanka.
