It had a fabulous view from the lounge and bedroom however it is very run down and needs alot of TLC and money spending on it to bring it up to standard. Our bathroom was especially bad, cracked tiles on the floor and the bath badly scratched and desperately needs replacing. The overflow on the toilet was like a river and ran for ages after flushing. We reported it but no attention from the staff.

A warm welcome awaits you on arrival. Very helpful and was able to purchase WiFi for the kids.
Dunoon is still developing as a destination. It is however a good base for travelling around Argyle and the Cowal peninsula. There are plenty of ferry links relatively to allow travel on Bute, The Mull of Kintyre and on to Arran as well as the link to Inverclyde. We were there for two half days but managed to see Puck's Glen and the Benmore Botanic Gardens, both well worth a visit.
Had a nice sit in Fish Supper beforwe going to a concert in the Burgh Halls. Burgh Halls was a good venue

Beautiful town with gorgeous scenery.
Beautiful town with gorgeous scenery. The Castle Museum is well worth a visit as the staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. The history of Dunoon is fascinating. The Lorne Inn is a great place to eat but there are plenty of other places too. Puck’s Glen with waterfall walk is nearby and the Botanic Garden is close by also. Dunoon is handy for the ferries to Gourock and the Isle of Bute.

I found Dunoon to be a pleasant and friendly town with all the amenities i needed. Cowal is a beautiful part of Scotland with tremendous opportunities for outdoor recreation. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, yet is close to Glasgow and its amenities.

A trip to Benmore gardens was worthwhile and the surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful. Dunoon it.self is beginning to feel a bit run down and neglected, very limited eating options at night even at the weekend where you strugle to find anywhere after 8pm still serving food apart from carry out food .

Dunoon is a lovely little town that needs to advertise its wares much more effectively. In particular opportunities for walking in the surrounding countryside. There is a reasonable range of shops and places to eat but opening times are too restricted to attract more tourists.
Only 5 mins walk from the foot passenger ferry terminal.
Ideal setting right on the esplanade thus the name lol.
Positioned perfectly for lovely walks and always people walking with or without dogs say hello.
The hotel itself is wonderful and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful.
Breakfast and dinners are great as is the overall service, very friendly.
I booked 3 nights but ended up staying 4 and have already booked another week in September, can't wait.
Room was scrupulously clean and tastefully decorated. The fridge in the room was a bonus as the milk for tea was fresh.
Breakfast was well presented and plenty of it, and the view from the breakfast table was 2nd to none.
There is plenty of off road parking and the B&b is central for lots of trips and activities in Argyll and Bute.
We had to arrange an earlier check in time to fit in with a family wedding. The hosts happy to help us with this.
Loved the ambiance and condition of the property. Loved the views especially from the common living room and the breakfast area, it overlooks the water and is great. Great outdoor area that goes right onto the beach. The owners were so friendly and accommodating! The breakfast was wonderful, we are from the U. S. And I loved the tradition breakfast why my wife loves the pancake breakfast. This is a true gem and we are so glade we stayed.
The Whistlefield Inn was a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location. The staff was friendly, helpful and accomodating in this historic inn. The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable and the location lends itself to some great hikes and exploring the towns in the area. An extremely relaxing stay.
Beautiful location and close to places we were visiting such as Pucks Glen, Hunters Quay and Dunoon. Easy to find from the main road. Beautiful location by the river. Lodge was clean and beautifully decorated. It was very comfortable and cosy. Great communication from owners. We hope to stay again soon!
Quiet location not too far from Dunoon centre. Adequate room size, comfort and facilities and breakfast, good service.
Street parking but quiet so no problem. Good value.
Did not eat in Hotel in evening ( had pre booked Lorne restaurant in Dunoon-excellent-need to book ahead).
I was looking for somewhere cheap to lay my head at night for a weekend festival, instead I found a clean, comfortable and well maintained hotel, with excellent staff within walking distance of the festival site. If we are playing again next year I will definitely re-book!
Ideal location for exploring the area, lovely and quiet, beautiful setting. It is a little further from Dunoon than we have stayed previously, just enough locally to entertain the kids but we were blessed with good weather for our stay.
The place was a great size for our group of six. It was really well kept and walking down to the water was really beautiful. And, the fact that we could do some laundry was a pleasant surprise. It's a beautiful area.
The area was very pretty with Dunoon Town close by. The walk up to the waterfall close by was beautiful. Caravan was clean and tidy with good facilities and comfortable. Free WiFi was very good.
We had a really wonderful stay at the Park Hotel. The staff were so lovely, even changing our room to give us a seaview. We both thought the food was delicious, really enjoyable stay!
Hotel is in a fantastic location. Just a short walk to the town centre. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and ready for a 2pm check in.
