The most beautiful accommodation I have been to in Iceland. You can find books about puffins, relief, flora and fauna of Iceland. There are also games and multiple paintings with birds. It does not seem to be an accommodation, but a home in which the owners have put their soul. the location is gorgeous, it reminds me of the Lofoten islands. unfortunately it is not open in winter because there is a risk of avalanche, but you can catch the snow, as we did in the first days of October. I love the simplicity and Nordic influences of this place!
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region.
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.

This town is wonderful and quaint.
This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!

Stayed two nights in this gem of a town.
Stayed two nights in this gem of a town. First night we camped and it was a fantastic campground. Second night was calling for snow so stayed in the hostel. Best Bonus grocery store we have seen with prices much less than anywhere else in Iceland.

Interesting in itself; however, you need a car to explore the area. Side roads, not too difficult, lead to many beautiful sights. I probably said "Wow" more in the few days in Westfjords than any other time.

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall...
The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall called Thundering Waterfall. It is actually several waterfalls topped by a bridal veil large fall. Well worth the steep hike up. One of the most beautiful waterfall we visited in Iceland. The drive back toward Reykjavik was stunning along five fjords and many waterfalls. Glacier views. Lava fields. And mountains. So wanted to eat at Tjoruhusid. But needed a reservation and could not get in. Recommend making a reservation before you leave home. A perfect ending to our trip to the Westfjords.

Our location was in the center of the historic district,...
Our location was in the center of the historic district, which made it easy for walking to everything. I enjoyed the architecture of the colorful houses in the Old Town neighborhood, The Heritage Museum, and getting fresh seafood from Fiskbud Sjavarfangs, the market down by the harbor. My daughter took a boat tour to Hornstrandir Peninsula for a day, but the weather was not conducive for outdoor activities during our stay so that curtailed the activities that we were interested in doing. We had two delicious fish dinners at Husid and an amazing buffet dinner at Tjoruhusid, which is in an historic log building down by the Heritage Museum. You have to make reservations ahead and they have 2 seatings for dinner. I have never seen such a huge variety of delicious soup, seafood, salads and desserts. Isafjordur is a charming little historic town with so many outdoor activity choices for all ages, fun shopping for handcrafted items and great fresh seafood.
We loved having the whole half of the duplex to ourselves. Very quiet - no noise at all from neighbors or the street. The house was very comfortable with lots of space. Has eat in kitchen that is fully equipped, should one want to stay longer. There was a parking spot right in front of the house. We appreciated having laundry facilities in the house. Cute and private back yard with seating outdoors. Easy walk to all of Isafjordur, including a grocery store a few blocks away. Never needed our car until we left town.
Okay guesthouse in Ísafjörður. Stayed a couple of times, before and after trip to Hornstrandir (highly recommended!) (as well as for a couple of days last winter). The place is a cool historic building organised into apartments, with one kitchen and bathroom (generally) on each floor, so shared between 6 rooms. First room we had was tiny, second was bigger but on lower ground floor so people looking through the window/car lights shining in when people parked!
A lovely little cottage in the centre of Ísafjörður. Plenty of space both inside & outside the property, including an off road car parking space and you are within a 10 minute walk of anywhere you might want to go in the town.
All the cooking facilities you could need, although if you can get a reservation at the Tjörhúsið (and like fish) you should definitely check it out.
We had Sólheimar Studio Apartment B. It was just as we expected - cozy, clean, comfortable and convenient. Sigridur was kind and helpful, providing advice on where to eat and what to see. Isafjordur is a special place that is hard to reach. If you are lucky enough to travel there, then you will find the Sólheimar Studio Apartment a great place to stay as you explore the area.
Great location within walking distance of most of Isafjodur. In an area of characterful old houses. Not at all touristy (yet). The house is old, and the interior staircase is steep and narrow, very typical of places in Iceland. We loved the area and the historic nature of the house. Completely comfortable and well-outfitted, with private garden a plus. Free parking in front.
This was easily the best accommodation out of 13 places we stayed in Iceland. The apartment was spacious and designed to perfection. There were a lot of personal touches, and complimentary soda in the fridge. The apartment's washer and dryer was very convenient. The location was within walking distance to everything in town. The owner is very welcoming and friendly.
The check-in process is very easy, you just need to know the 4-digits code for your room and you are set.
The rooms are small but clean. The bathrooms are also small but in very good conditions.
Very convenient location ; you can just walk to visit the old town and go to restaurants.
Location was very convenient to main part of town and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I noticed Breakfast items were refilled as the offerings depleted (I have seen in other hotels a lack of this courtesy ) The room and bathrooms were very clean.
The hostel was clean and comfortable, however, it is definitely not worth the money unless you have nowhere else to stay. During our travel around Iceland, we had incomparably better accommodation for similar or even lower price.
It’s good to understand that this is a summertime hotel only, usually it’s a student accommodation so it is quite basic though comfortable. Breakfast was generous, fresh and well displayed. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful room, with patio looking out onto the valley, river and pond. Nice bed and bathroom. Very nice dinner in restaurant. Included breakfast almost overwhelming. Location convenient for visiting sights.
Great location very close to the lake and many good places to see this wonderful town of Isafjördur. Great breakfast. Nice staff. Very comfy beddings. Great view from our room. Elevator very convinent.
Everything. This place is amazing. All the commodities, super stylist and the communication with the owners was perfect. Right in the center of Isafjordur. Wish we could've stayed more nights.
The breakfast was very good it was in the hotel where you checked in. They have a functioning kitchen with stove, microwave, they have tea selection, shared bathrooms, street parking.
