The hotel just at the end of renovation. Very clean, everything new. Located very close to the city centre. We have found communication with hotel staff a bit difficult, as we don't speak Spanish, but but when finally understood, they fulfilled our requests.

The breakfast was pretty standard but nice and fresh.
The bathroom is great. The shower has one of those waterfall shower heads and the hot water is plentiful.
And I think the staff is wonderful. I plan to stay there whenever I am in town.

I liked Loja better then Cuenca. It is more relaxed, cleaner, and has a wealthier feel to it. People are very nice and welcoming. Podocarpus is a gem, I advise people to find a way to visit (there are very few outfitters, but there is a couple).

One of the most amazing province in Ecuador.
One of the most amazing province in Ecuador. Beautiful landscapes from dry to cloud forests. It is needed at least one week to travel around the main city and the rural areas. Also, one of the best coffee producers places around the globe. Traditional food is exceptional too! And people, very gentle too.

Beautiful calm city with plenty of things to do!
Beautiful calm city with plenty of things to do! Many museums and beautiful streets! I was enjoyable just wandering the streets and visiting stores and churches that we stumbled upon. I would recommend wandering around the town before going to the Museo de la Cultura Lojana because one of the most rewarding parts is seeing the old pictures of the city. However, you can really only appreciate those old pictures if you know what those sites looks like today. Regarding the museums, not all the information regarding openings is up to date. I would make sure to check with the visitor center in the Puerta de la Ciudad to confirm which museums are open. (Even though it said it was open online, el Museo de la Musica was closed due to renovations).
Recommendations:
-Puerta de la Ciudad
-Museo de la Cultura Lojana
-Museo de las Madres Conceptas de Loja
-Plaza de Independencia/San Sebastian
-All of the churches, very beautiful
-Parque Lineal de la Tebaida
-Mercado Central (en el 10 de agosto). Great breakfasts at great prices!
Very easy to catch a taxi in Loja. However, I also navigated most of the city by foot.

Beautiful city, nice people, a lot of places to visit, food excellent and cheap comparing other cities, people are willing to help, you can ask any question, if they don't understand English, they will figure it out, even asking other people at the street.
You will never find yourself lost in this city .
I will recommend the best place to have a local beer with the "Artesanal del Barón de la Cerveza", plus some delicious *Tapas*, the place is named **LA TASQUITA EC**, excellent black beer, affordable.
I love it, definitive I will come back .

Very nice setting in the Andes.
Very nice setting in the Andes. Spring-like temperatures year-round. Lots of festivities, especially in the fall. Nice vibe in the central city. Friendly people. Quite inexpensive overall. Close to all kinds of great mountains to hike in. Known as the music capital of Ecuador; free concerts every Thursday evening in the Plaza Sebastian. An amazing number of different restaurants with good food. (Try Dumas Restaurant close to the Central Cathedral.) The city is famous for the coffee grown in the surrounding area. Lots of lovely parks.

In the past Loja was just a place to come from Vilcabamba to buy things unavailable in Vilcabamba. But the city of Loja is the artistic capital of Ecuador and in my opinion, is a cleaner city than Cuenca or Vilcabamba.
The place was super clean and tidy. There was a swimming pool to take a nice dip after a long day of hiking and relax in a peaceful environment. Michelle was super helpful, accommodating, and spoke good English as my Spanish is a working progress to say the least. It was definitely the comfiest bed I've stayed in since travelling and I highly recommend staying here if you are in vilcabamba. Short taxi ride from the bus station to the accommodation (5 minutes) 😁.
The woman who checked me in was very warm and friendly. She gave me information about the room and where breakfast would be served. The hotel is in a perfect location in the center of town. The room was big. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything I needed. Breakfast was quite sumptuous with a bowl of fruit with cereal and yogurt, and then a plate of eggs, an empanada and a piece of toast was served. I'd come here again on my next visit to Loja.
The owner is super friendly. Check in and out was very easy. During check in we received a map and explanation about Loja and owners were always available for questions and explanations.
Parking is possible in the parking at home, owner got our car in and out every day because it is a bit difficult to maneuver. This was no problem for the owner.
Apartment is spacious and well furnished and fully equipped.
We liked our accommodation. We had a room, a sitting area and, of course, a bathroom. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The property is well located to get around in Loja and the staff quickly get a cab if you need one. It was also an easy walk to down town and there are restaurants and bakeries scattered around the neighborhood. We had a quiet peaceful time here, it was a good introduction to Loja.
Breakfast was excellent. Mercedes is the best!
She makes you feel like family. It is a great family run operation. Remi is so amazing. He does everything to make your stay enjoyable. Loved the solitude and river walks to the city center. No loud birthday parties or music like hotels in Central I stayed at. Six nights of blissful rest.
Mr. Guido is very helpful and he goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast is good for the price and room has everything you need to make your stay comfortable as well. Room are small but well equipped with a large closet, desk, tv, and a hair dryer. The rooms and hotel in general are very clean.
The staff was super friendly and welcoming, it felt like a home stay or a visit to some distant relative’s house rather than a stay at a hotel. The room was big and comfortable and the breakfasts were fantastic. This definitely ended up being one of our favorite stays in all of Ecuador.
Good business hotel. Super peaceful at night, did not hear a sound and had a perfect rest. Comfortable bed, good shower, good WiFi. I left really early, and was provided with a packed breakfast, very much appreciated.
Cleanliness, friendly and professional staff, well appointed rooms, Restaurant in the hotel, daily breakfast buffet. Beautiful facility and walking distant to everything. Loja is a very beautiful city.
Best hotel around! The whole stuff was wonderful, helpful and kind. Rooms were super clean and confortable. They even surprise me with some cookies for my graduation. Highly recommended!!!
Friendly staff and always available to help. The room was beyond my expectations. This place is a, somehow, hidden gem. I will come back to this hotel next time I'm in Loja. Blindly.
