Anne was an exceptional host, so friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. She even gave us a ride to the nearby pubs and bus stop! The breakfast was amazing, you'd easily be paying 15-20 euro for it elsewhere. Nothing was too much to ask. The rooms were comfortable and very clean with lovely decor. The area is beautiful and close to the bus stops that serve the island well in either direction, Lynotts luv just down the road is great. A lovely homely place that I will be recommending to everyone!

Achill Sound was a perfect location for our family, not in the middle of the hustle & bustle of some of the very popular beaches but close enough to everything that was needed. We discovered a lovely beach at Dugort, went cycling on the Greenway and on the Island and eat at Achill Sound hotel. All good.

First visit to this area, unbelievable , my mind was blown on our drive from the sound into Achill island. I had no idea such a place even existed in Ireland! (From Monaghan :) ) Beautiful beaches, scenery & friendly locals.

A great place with peace and great beaches.

A great place with peace and great beaches. Not for a crazy party weekend, as there are limited number of places available. Still, It is a great island for nature and some good romantic times. Great sunsets . Beehive restaurant was my favorite. Keem and Keel beaches are gems.

Beautiful scenery, beaches, popular with cyclists.

Beautiful scenery, beaches, popular with cyclists. Friendly locals. Have only been to one village, other areas are more developed,, and popular tourist spots. The 450 bus service goes from Westport, to connect with train stops in the village, and goes through Achill Sound. There are taxis, but it may take a while to get one. Stop in Achill Sound Hotel for food, and friendly locals.

We stayed for 2 nights but I wish we had longer.

We stayed for 2 nights but I wish we had longer. The beaches were gorgeous, we hired bikes and went touring one day, I did find the bike hire a little expensive but it was lovely to have the facility available close to our hotel. Keel and Keem are very busy at this time so we went to Dumh Eige and Doogart beaches instead. We ate lunch in Gielty's which was very tasty and there are lots of activities available on the island such as paddle-boarding, kayaking, walks etc.

Marie, our host, was very friendly and accommodating. She recommended places to go for dinner and some places in Westport. The breakfast was made to order as well as cereals, fruit, tea and coffee. We cycled out to Achill via the Greenway and had a shed to lock our bikes in. The B&B is very close to the bridge onto Achill and is close to a pub, hotel and shop. Highly recommended.

Anne was the perfect host. We were greeted by her very friendly and cuddly fury friend, and then by her with tea & biscuits. The room is big, clean and had a beautiful view over achill sound. Breakfast was delicious and more than plenty. Due to the weather we were not able to see everything, so we'll be back :)

The view from the room was incredible and the window opens so you can get a nice breeze. I arrived late in the evening and the owner was very accommodating and made some food for me. It was much appreciated! The next night I had a chicken curry that was so delicious and flavorful, would definitely recommend.
