A nice place for the travellers want to stay away from the busy cities like interlaken and Lucerne. Never the less well connected with both of places with a travel time of 30 minutes to 1 Hour by train. It’s must visit city alongwith the Rothorn Kulm. The lake is very nice and you can find food mart (COOP) very near to Brienz station along with local restaurants there.

Brienz is a small town on the shore of the Brienzersee that in October was a very beautiful and peaceful place to stay. It has a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The Rothornbahn will take you to the top of the Brienzer Rothorn with is fabulous views of the Alps. There are a lot of hiking trails that are easily accessible from Brienz. You can also take the boat across the lake to hike around Giessbach falls and enjoy the terrasse bar at the Grandhotel. We enjoyed eating at Tea Room Walz (which had a great vegan option) and Berghaus Planap (a bit of a hike). An outstanding selection of cheeses can be found at Chas Fritz. We also just enjoyed walking along the lake on the Brienzer Uferweg.

True gem of Switzerland.
True gem of Switzerland. A wonderful wood carving town by the lake side. Great food and culture here. Perfect place for walks. If you need to chill out without an agenda and do your own thing , this is a good option to explore. Safe to travel with loved ones. Locals are respectful and friendly. Also a good place to make a base and travel to other cantons of the country for day trips via ferry , train and bus (highly recommend taking a Swiss Pass) You can also take a dip in the lake and drink alpine water straight from the tap as the locals themselves do and recommend.

Brienz has the best of both worlds.
Brienz has the best of both worlds. On the one hand, it is a charming village with traditional buildings, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and with wonderful views over the Alps and the lake. On the other hand, it has shops and restaurants and it is served by frequent public transport, so you can use it as a base to explore the region, even if you don't have a car.
The location is amazing with the waterfalls and the lake, and the hotel is proper old school grand - very much lives up to its name !
Staff were all helpful and friendly and our waiter for dinner really helped to make it a great experience.
The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were soft but supportive. Slept really well.
We had a room with a waterfall view which was stunning and the noise helped us to sleep really well ! The view from the balcony was just lovely.
Breakfast was great - plenty of choice and all delicious.
This is an exceptional property located right next to the famous Giessbach Falls, a stunning waterfall. Our room had a view of the falls, with a sitting area and French doors with a balcony. The building is historic and beautifully decorated in all of the common areas, with a large outdoor patio area for dining also. It's a very short walk to overlook the falls close up on a bridge, and they have a funicular that goes down to the lake (Brienzersee) where the steamboat stops on their tour of the lake.
the staff is very nice, pleasant and very helpful especially eva and manuel they have been very kind.
the lake view on brienz is amazing, The hotel is in an excellent location and the train just makes it better.
on the last day we had to go early to the airport. eva suggested that we take breakfast with us so she arranged everything in the night so we took it in the early morning and went to the airport.
so thanks a lot eva and thanks to the staff.
surely one of the best hotels i have ever been in.
Everything was lovely for our stay at the hotel. The room with a view from the balcony was so pretty and comfy, also with a huge bathroom! And we visited during the Axalp airshow, so it was perfect location in Brienz to spend the night. The breakfast was also outstanding, fresh and plenty of choices. Would definitely return to the same hotel if we are ever back in the area!
Best hotel ever. Great location, amazing lake and mountain view. Parking is available. Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Great balcony in the room to enjoy view. Coffee and tea was available in the room to enjoy balcony in the mornings/evenings. Small but enough breakfast with fresh products.
Excellent spot with private balcony overlooking lake Brienz. Close to station and ferry. Lovely local hotels and shops. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The apartment was quiet and there was a private garden which was nice. There was a good washer/dryer which was great for us with small children,
It was cosy and special- the food was delicious. They had cute little station for self service different teas and coffee… even soup you can make in a cup with hot water :)
Location was good and close to Interlaken , we were by car but I also saw a buss passing by in front of the hotel.
The location is just superb. It is by the Brienz lake side and the view from the window is mesmerizing. It has this rustic old world charm and feels amazing to include such a stay in our travel making it all the more cherishable.
Lake Brienz is absolutely beautiful and I had a great view from my room! The room includes a delicious breakfast. The B&B is close to all the things to do in town. Cristina who works there is absolutely delightful and so helpful.
Location was great. A slight uphill from the station, less than 10 mins walk. Great view of the lake and quiet location. Breakfast was delicious and staff all very nice. Nicely renovated chalet. Brienz is a beautiful town.
The location of Hotel Brienz was perfect. The scenery was amazing and it was easy to get around in the town and on the lake from the hotel. There was also parking available, which was very easy.
The location is quiet and nice not far from the picturesque Brienz. Modern building near the local small village, interesting concept of "museum" together with hotel.
The location by Lake Brienz was fantastic, lovely view from almost all rooms. Restaurant on-site which was convenient. A short walk to Brienz West train station.
