The capital of Lower Saxony, beautiful Hanover has been so thoughtfully planned that you can’t tell it was largely destroyed in World War II. The city is full of green spaces, one of which is by huge Maschsee lake where sailors and rowers share the waters with pedaloes. In winter you may be able to skate there. A smaller lake in the Maschpark closer to the centre reflects the grand New Town Hall overlooking it.
The Old Town Hall is in the Old Town where half-timbered buildings were brought from all areas of the city during rebuilding. The square behind hosts one of the Hanover Christmas markets. The others are on Kröpcke pedestrian shopping street, and in front of the station, where the city’s main shopping centre - Ernst August Gallerie – is located.
To the north are the incredible, landscaped Herrenhausen Gardens – awash with colour for much of the year. This area gives its name to the local pilsener – Herrenhäuser. Also here are colourful sculptures by Niki de Saint Phalle, whose work is also displayed in the Sprengel modern art museum.
Set in an Expo City and host of many festivals, the accommodation in Hanover can get booked up quickly, so choose yours on Booking.com soon after booking your flight to Hanover Airport.

Hannover is a typical German city with a pleasant city center where shops remain open until the evening. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The main draw seems to be the Hannover Messe events. If you're seeking peace and quiet, Hannover might fit the bill, but some may find it a bit boring.

I liked that Hannover city has limited traffic around the main railway station where only of buses, taxis and bicycles move quite slowly. The roads can be crossed easily, no rushing. Also, where traffic lights are for pedestrians, the green light is coming very soon after touching the button. Public transport is excellent - always in close proximity with multiple choices, moving exactly, except the buses which sometimes delay. The town is very clean.

If Hannover turly is, as is often heard, the most boring city in Germany, it makes me want to explore more of what Germany has to offer. I mean, how nice must all the other cities be if they find Hannover boring, as it is not boring at all.
Like many larger German cities Hannover was bombed and mostly destroyed in the war and has been rebuilt. If you want to see original pre-war Germany, then you can take an easy day-trip to Celle which has been voted as the most beautiful German small town. Also the famous Hameln is an easily doable day-trip.

It was a very short business trip.
It was a very short business trip.
It is a quiet, easily accessible city.
They have excellent fairgrounds.
I think the extremely impressive wooden exhibition area is a must-see.
We were able to spare a few hours to visit the city and to take a short city tour by following the "Red Line".
We had some great beer experiences that we couldn't get enough of.
This stay was something different, and absolutely amazing! I love the concept and I felt very comfortable. The bed is really nice, the WiFi is fast; the lighting was beautiful and the idea of fitting a shower in the box is just genius. And how it all fits so well in the small space! The staff is also very nice and the location is convenient, close to the central station.
This stay was the highlight of my trip through Germany!
Did not have breakfast.
The location was walking distance from the central railway station. Hence, it was very convenient when arriving by train and using public transport in Hannover. However, typically there were homeless people, beggars, male youth with load music, pubs, bars in the vicinity on the way between station and hotel. Seems to be safe because busy although at night for women travelling alone not without risks.
This must have been the cleanest hotel room I have been in a long time. Really spotless. Very comfortable bed and pillow, spacious room, good prices on the mini-bar and a coffee machine with 3 types of capsules for free usage! Quiet area just opposite of a tram station a few stops away from the central station of Hannover. The ladies at the reception very polite, they allowed me to check in 30 minutes earlier.
Our second stay at this hotel travelling through Germany by car. The rooms are very dated, but it is this factor that makes the stay affordable. The location is fantastic, our room had a balcony, which is often not the case for the price, and the nearby park and shops as well as accessibility from the motorway, made it an excellent choice for an overnight stop when driving a long distance.
All the staff were super friendly, helpful and accomodating our needs, gave great recommendations where to go and what to see as it was our first time in Hannover. The room itself was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel was located very central and close to the main train station, restaurants and coffee shops, it was really convenient to get to many touristy places.
Comfortable bed, I liked the soft pillows and fluffy covers.
Clean and spacious room.
Very good breakfast!
They had a big parking by the hotel which was free.
Friendly staff.
We just stopped for one night on our way through Germany so didn't see much of the area but it was ok.
Two bottles of water in the room free of charge.
Very clean and nice. We just had one stop in connection with our drive through Germany and the location close to the highway is super (and still no noice from highway which was great).
Huge breakfast buffet with a lot of options for the entire familiy.
The hotel is in a perfect location for stays before and after flights. The rooms are quiet and clean. There is a nice restaurant on site for dinner. The hotel provides free shuttle service to the airport. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Rooms where much nicer and cleaner then expected. Parking was easy and it is very close to the city center. I think it was a very good value, especially since we visited during the Hannover Messe and cheap options are hardly available.
It is just a few minutes away from the main rail station and a good location and friendly staffs.
For people who have delayed train this is your ideal Hotel and a walking distance for Mall and underground inside Hannover Hbf store.
It is a great hotel with quiet and clean rooms. Its location is in the center of Hannover which gives you easy access to shopping malls, restaurants and station. I also liked staffs behavior, they were so nice and much helpful.
The staff is very kind. The room had a large window that could be opened. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and the view on the Market Square very pretty. The hotel has a dog-friendly policy.
The location next to Hauptbahnhof, the interior design, the atmosphere, the service (friendly staff), the quality and sizes of the rooms, the calmness… etc
Just great Hotel
I was pleasantly surprised by the grand luxurious vibes of this hotel. It was dead quiet at night even though it's right at the airport. Would stay here again anytime,
