For me, Aix-en-Provence is a little bit overrated.
For me, Aix-en-Provence is a little bit overrated. It's nice, but I would not say is really charming. Students are everywhere - and that's nice, they are enjoying bars and adding a good vibe. Other than this, some areas looks dead - maybe is just because the vacation season did not started yet?
Anyway, overall, for me Avignon is better than Aix

Nice city if you can access it.
Nice city if you can access it. We took the local train from Marseille and no taxi showed up for over 45 minutes. We finally walked to the hotel, which wasn't easy after a 3+ hour train ride. Just be prepared ahead with taxi co. phone number...Great town for foodies and drinkers..Three days are plenty. Plan excursions out of town to make the best of the area.

Aix-en-Provence is lovely.
Aix-en-Provence is lovely. Excellent restaurants, shops, marchés, sites and museums. The core of the old town has medieval charm. There a beautiful squares and the Cours Mirabeau Is lined with plane trees, shops and resturants/bars/cafes.
There are a lot of sites to see related to Paul Cézanne. His atelier is worth a visit. Where he painted his beloved Montagne Sainte-Victoire from the Terrain des Peintres.

The city was busy and some streets were to narrow for the car we rented. Some signals were confusing about narrow streets endings!
The hotel was very enjoyable. It was a great opportunity to relax and enjoy nature. We could stay longer.
We had great conversations with Christopher. He went out of his way to make us feel at home. We were able to wash and dried our clothes at no extra cost. He even packed for us some goodies for our trip.

Aix was a beautiful and historical place. Every corner is breath taking. It is a stress free environment. We just wondered on foot and enjoyed every minute of it.

A great place to visit, steeped in history with plenty of restaurants, bars and individual shops in the old town.
Visited Cezanne's studio and soaked up the atmosphere.
Ate amazingly well.........however it appears that the local French have forsaken their own native cuisine for Italian as there are no end of Pizzerias and burger establishments.
Search and you will find. Probably the best filet steak I've had since living in France for the last eight years was at the 'Cafe Grillon'....excellent fare.
Parking is a nightmare and the roads surrounding Aix at peak times are to be avoided.
A brilliant place for a long weekend........leave the car behind as you won't need it whilst there.
If you do take your car, take a trip to Remy de Provence and Cassis. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic location in the old town, around the corner from the daily market, 10 minutes from bus station, and an amazing sunset rooftop perch perfect for grazing boards and wine!
This apartment is clearly the passion project of an architect or interior designer and without doubt one of the quirkiest, best-equiped apartments we've ever stayed in. So tastefully decorated, and everything you could need to create any dish imaginable. You could move in. Thank you so much to the owners for creating a perfect place for our Aix retreat.
It’s close to bus station but far from city centre! Staff is excellent need a kettle in room ! the tv is all in French ! They kept my luggage nearest restaurant is 15minute walk from hotel! But bus station is next door so that is convenient! Breakfast is good but can be better for France!itz definitely friendly and value for money and that is a consolation for its few drawbacks and very clean quiet and comfortable bed ! For a quick visit to aix it’s quite nice and easy ! Regards to Jennifer who helped a lot at reception!
We went to this charming little hotel in our favorite part of Aix with high expectations and they were certainly met! From our warm welcome to the final Au Revoir the staff was amazing. The room itself was lovely, well appointed, comfortable, and with a beautiful garden view. Breakfast offers many excellent choices and we were more than pleased with ours. We highly recommend La Maison du Collectionneur and are currently planning a return visit. Don't miss out!
Location was excellent. Can’t get any better. We were in the centre of all activities.
The owners of the hotel, Anthony and Margharet , made very sure we were comfortable in our place, attending to every request we made. We mentioned that we did not have English channels in our TV. They bought a new TV for our room with English channels. Can’t get any better hosts than that!👏👏👏👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩
the property is in a good location, easy walk into the historic centre of Aix en Provence. The front staff were very attentive at check in and directed us to a safe lock up location for our bikes as we were on a biking holiday.
Good breakfast room with good breakfast offerings although the lay out of the buffet could have better flow to eliminate a lot of going back and forth.
A superb hotel right in the centre of Aix en Provence. Everything is walking distance from the hotel. We stayed in the suite on the top floor which was magnificent with lovely views of the lush garden and environment. Margherita, Anthony and Ines were really welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend this lovely hotel and would definitely stay again.
The hotel is ideally located in Aix-en-Provence city centre, walking distance from all attractions. It has a private parking which is really convenient. It also has a spa, which unfortunately I did not have the time to enjoy. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Good price for such a quality.
The hotel lies in a good position, just five minutes’ drive from Aix-en-Provence city centre. The room was clean and equipped with airco, and the breakfast buffet was also rich and offered both sweet and salty food. Whenever we were in need, the landlady has always been helpful.
Old center of Aix. Very interesting place with decor beating top tier hotels. Spotless and highest quality interior, beds, bathrooms. Genuinely welcoming and caring staff. The hotel has only 6 rooms, so book well in advance. Definitely would stay here again if/when back to Aix.
This historical hotel is in the heart of the Aix, yet tucked away. It is so convenient to shopping, wonderful restaurants, etc. The gentleman at the front desk is wonderful and was helpful with everything during our stay, including arranging car service when needed.
Beautiful, traditional, charming. Like hotels used to be. Very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. We stayed for 2 nights and it was perfectly located to explore Aix. Just a 5 minute walk to the cours Mirabeau. We will definitely return to this gem of a hotel.
Our room and bedding were clean and comfortable. The location was convient to center of Aix and not too far from Mont St Victoire where we were headed. Breakfast was very good! Hotel staff terrific! Would definitely return!
most likely the best hotel in Aix. luxurious an spacious. good breakfast, fun indoor pool (the outdoor pool was closed for the season) ,easily getting by foot to all center attraction of this beautiful town.
The atmosphere around the hotel, it's very quiet and surrounded with trees and nature. Feels very peaceful, and it's just a 15min drive from Aix-en-Provence. The rooms are clean, spacious and silent!
The location is perfect to visit Aix. There's a big car park in Forum des Cardeurs a few minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel has a nice terrace on the rooftop.
+ close enough to city center/old town (10 min walk)
+ very good price for Aix (pricey city)
+ generous and varied breakfast
+ competent, friendly staff
