Francois-Xavier and Virginy were so kind in so many different ways. They treated us as their own family, and we loved every minute of our stay. The fetching of pizza's from the local pizzeria, which saved us more saddle time on already sore behinds, was hugely appreciated! :)

We loved this place. It's a two star Auberge so don't expect 5 star facilities; but very well run. The rooms are clean comfortable but " experienced ". Ours overlooked the small square. Fresh air! The dining room .....excellent food by Christophe. Full both nights . But the star of the show is Stephanie. She is irresistible.....great sense of humour and at night runs the small restaurant with panache and a lot of laughs and good advice. Good English too for we Aussies that helps.
Five star fun thanks Stephanie
P.s the bar across the street is very welcoming, and Conques is just 15 minutes away

The room had seen many summers, but it was clean and perfectly functional. Most importantly, the hotel has the French charm of days gone by, and they are hard to find. So this is a very special place to stay. The evening meal was delicious and I would highly recommend booking in for the meal. With had a good breakfast, with fabulous coffee, The hamlet and hotel are in a very pretty rural, location. A perfect retreat from the busy, modern world.
Camping Etang Du Camp, a property with a garden, is situated in Sénergues, 37 km from Notre Dame Cathedral, 38 km from Museum Denys-Puech, as well as 34 km from Grand-Rodez Golf Course.
Conques is a fantastic mediaeval village. Very easy to spend a couple of days wandering around the streets. The church is a wonder. Auberge St. Jaques is very central with a restaurant and a bar. You do need to be able to negotiate the stairs, though.

Conques is a charming town, vertical to the extreme.
Conques is a charming town, vertical to the extreme. Has restaurants of excellence for dinner; however, as in my criticism of the town in my general review, it doesn't provide for breakfasts of substance. That is especially important for hikers of the Chamin.

St. Foy Cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and full of history and sculptures. The little town has a unique situation and no cars/busses, etc. is allowed in the town - only the vehicles of the few families that stay there permanently. It's a place to wind down; reflect on life and rejuvenate your spirit.

Such a historic place. Well preserved and easy to explore.
Such a historic place. Well preserved and easy to explore. The only problem is getting there, but that is part of the charm. The church and the facade are truly magnificent and the town location make you think of Switzerland. Very clean with plenty of restaurants of all ranges and lots of boutiques and galleries.

Conques is a beautiful village and the people are very friendly. There are a number of artisan shops. The church is impressive and the organ recital we heard there was superb. Also the light show of the carvings above the church door was magical.

Conques is a tiny little town perched on the side of a steep...
Conques is a tiny little town perched on the side of a steep gorge. It is now almost entirely pedestrianised as the streets are so narrow. Its main feature is the impressive cathedral which is on the long established Camino route, and so draws many pilgrims walking the path, some going all the way to Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain.
It is largely restored, and oozes character, but do bear in mind it is very small, and has few attractions outside the cathedral. Its worth a visit, but for a full day's enjoyment, Figeac has more to offer.
This was a really charming and comfortable hotel, in a perfect location in Conques. Very clean, with comfortable beds, and my room's en suite bathroom was surprisingly large. Parking is challenging in the village itself, but the hotel has a handful of dedicated spots, which was a lifesaver for us. The staff were very friendly and especially helpful in terms of letting us know which of the area's restaurants were open or closed on given nights during our stay.
François was very helpful and friendly and gave us access to a great apartment in beautiful Conques. He provided for a great meal outside with fellow travellers and responded to our requests with enthusiasm and friendliness. His facility is accessible to public parking and an easy walk up the hill from the Abbey. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Conques.
Lovely place! We upgraded our room to a private bathroom… we had a large room in the attic. It was comfortable… with exception of the heat, with a lovely view and comfortable beds, linens and towels. We were able to use the washing machine and the dryer. Had a fabulous dinner, as well. Highly recommended stay, in the beautiful village of Conques.
A last-minute booking for us when our previous hotel proved inadequate. We really needed a nice place after an 18-mile day of walking the Camino-GR65. We got in at 6 p.m., cleaned up, and ate at the hotel restaurant. We slept like the dead that night. This place was a lucky find for us.
Perfect stay in the cosy town of Conques. The apartment was equipped with everything you need: oven, microwave, kitchen utensils. There were coffee pods, tea and little snacks provided. Very nicely decorated and comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our stay!
We stayed in the guest house which was a generous size. Comfortably furnished. Ample kitchen. Spacious bathroom, great shower. Lovely gardens to sit in and an adjoining path along the river. Short distance from Conques.
Warm and gracious hosts.
This is a higher-end hotel right in the heart of the historic core of Conques. Set in a very old building, with accompanying charm, the rooms are modern and comfortable.
Due to car trouble in northern France we could not reach Conques in time. I cancelled by telephone 48 hours in advance, but did not get a reimbursement.
