Last time we came up to Scotland we stayed in Carlisle where the property was fine but the location not so much. We had stopped for a while in Gretna after we left and found it so much nicer which is why we chose Bojangles this time. It is quiet, green and so much more relaxing.
We only stayed one night as a journey breaker on our way North but would love to stay linger another time.

Gretna Green is well worth a visit.
Gretna Green is well worth a visit. The area is lovely with nice courtyards which are well kept and shops selling local produce and Scottish gifts. There were quite a few weddings taking place while we visited the historic blacksmiths area. We also visited the outlet centre which had a lot of good shops and bargains to be had.

I could definitely recommend both The Gables Hotel & The Gretna Hall Hotel, although I only actually stayed in The Gables Hotel, but had food in both. The wedding reception was held in the Gretna Hall Hotel & the main meal was amazing.
Some wedding guests stayed further afield and didn’t sleep properly being near a noisy motorway.
The Blacksmiths was well worth seeing & it has an interesting history. Plenty of parking at the rear of the buildings.

Rooms clean , a little small .
Rooms clean , a little small . Windows don’t keep motorway noise out .Complained about noise in room at check out , they seemed not too care . Work being carried out on floor above early in the morning , drilling and banging . These rooms should not be used , wasnt warned about this . Very poor , Didn’t sleep at all well . Staff very friendly and attentive except on check out . Personally wouldn’t stay again
Third time staying here.. The hotel is clean. Staff are very friendly & welcoming. Food is great. Had breakfast and also had dinner. Delicious burgers, and desserts. Our room was immaculately clean with plenty of towels. Had air con too which was helpful as weather was very warm. The place is perfectly located for weddings. But also great base for exploring the Solway Firth and local towns. We found beautiful deserted beaches not far away at Dhoon Beach, Powfoot. Lots of stunning countryside to explore. Im sure we will stay again.
Had to make a stop off in Gretna Green at short notice on our way back from Scotland a day earlier than planned. Booked here giving an hour’s notice. Arrived to a friendly welcome. The owners (sorry I have forgotten their names but they were a lovely couple) gave us a bigger room than we had booked to ensure we had a good night’s sleep. They directed us to local places still open so we could get supper. The cooked breakfast in the morning was lovely. All in all had a wonderful experience.
A really lovely hotel, food lovely, good buffet breakfast. Bed was comfortable, bathroom old but clean, staff very friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night because was a good location with only a2 hour drive to catch the ferry from Cairnryan. Price was good and breakfast cheap enough.
The welcome was warm.
Next to the hotel is a authentic pub where was offered food and drinks. The staff there care you.
The hotel is in walking distance to gretna green. But be aware gretna green is a tourist hot spot!!! To the Hadrians Wall you have to drive or to go by public transport.
Perfect location! great breakfast! great evening meal! Quick service! Staff friendly, professional ! I could not manage stairs, I have mobility problems at times. hotel accomodated for this at short notice! staff very helpful.Perfect car parking facility.
We love Gretna Hall Hotel, got married there in 2005 and been many times since - we have seen the changes and improvements over the years. The staff can’t do enough for you, very helpful.
Breakfast is buffet style and plenty of choice
Comfortable room in a lovely house in a great location. Breakfast was delicious. An ideal place to stop overnight if travelling between England and Scotland. Very close to the Gretna Green Shopping Outlet, which was a bonus!
In an excellent location near to the railway station and the famous attractions, especially just across the road from the Gretna Hall Hotel and the couple currently running it are lovely. It is currently up for sale.
Lovely hotel, staff all very freindly. Room had everything we needed. They even put a tiny fridge in there for my medication. Very close to Gretna Green. Beautiful grounds and a lovely little church. Very quirky.
We like to stay in this hotel when travelling to the north of Scotland.
It is comfortable for a night's stay, quiet, comfy bed, it's located at the services so there are take-away options nearby.
Lovely warm hotel, good shower, large room, no complaints. Breakfast set you up for the day. Just a short walk from the outlet centre and Gretna Green centre. There is plenty of free parking.
Breakfast was at main welcome break site 500yards away was good and reasonably priced for a service area hotel clean and tidy dog friendly but out dated fine for one night
