The staff were really lovely and friendly. The location was absolutely lovely. It’s an easy walk into Grasmere and there’s loads of walks you can do for the hotel.
A Regency house overlooking Ullswater, the Macdonald Leeming House has an award-winning restaurant and views of the Cumbrian Fells. It is a 15-minute drive from the M6 motorway.
Great hotel with friendly hardworking staff. Ideal base for walking surrounding fells, and close enough to Glenridding with ulswater also a short walk away. When here you feel like you have escaped the crowds and can relax, definitely be coming again.

Patterdale sits at the rugged end of Ullswater, and offers access to Helvellyn, High Street, and other peaks of truly astonishing beauty. The hiking in this part of the Lakes is strenuous and at times difficult, so visitors should be prepared for that. But the views are worth every step.
Patterdale itself is quite small, with a hotel, a pub, and then the Brotherswater Inn a little up the road. You'll need time to get around and time for meals and drinks. It's not a place to move fast, but it is a perfect place to stop and breathe.
Plan your hikes carefully, consult with local staff, and check the weather.

It’s truly a breathtaking stunning location . The hills and mountains are superb , the air so fresh. It’s serine and relaxing, highly recommended to restore your batteries so to speak . Wonderful to step outside the hotel and walk around the edge of the lake and take in the views.
One or two shops up the rd at Glenridding cafe’s and restaurants. Boats for hire on the lake .

Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere.
Patterdale is not Keswick or Windermere. The scenery is spectacular and a haven for walkers of all capabilities and water sports. We found the area beautiful and like being abroad. Definitely will be coming back to walk and do some fishing. We made our way to the White Lion pub which is a focal point for both visitors and locals serving excellent food and a variety of local beers.

A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away.
A great Lakeland village with Glenridding a short walk away. Between the two villages they offer a selection of shops and pubs/hotels. There are countless walks and fells straight out of the door of your hotel. Ullswater in nearby and offers great water sport activities or just boat cruise for the less adventurous.
The B&B is in a lovely location, quiet and leafy but close to Patterdale. The owners are friendly and around when you need them. The room we had was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, local produce and home made jams. We were in the area for a wedding and left feeling like we'd been on holiday because our stay here was so good. We couldn't fault anything and would definitely recommend. We're hoping to be able to come back again in future.
A wonderfully quiet location, great facilities, a bedroom AND a lounge. Adam, the host, greeted me at the door, offered to help with my bags and to give me a lift into the village to get some dinner. He made sure everything was just right without. Breakfast was spot on, I would highly recommended Crookabeck to anyone heading up into the hills around Patterdale.
Amazing location and great staff on our first nights stay here at the Patterdale hotel. The food is exceptional and the breakfast is top quality. The rooms are spacious and accommodating with some of the comfiest beds available for a great nights sleep. I would love to visit the lakes again and if I do this is the place I will stay.
We stayed for two nights here. The staff were very nice. The area around the hotel is quite pretty and the lake is close. There is also a pub just down the street where you can go for drinks or dinner. The breakfast at the hotel was quite nice and included eggs done several ways which we appreciated.
The hotel room was dated and shabby, with marks on the walls, old worn carpet, door handle on the bathroom was loose and lopsided. The bathroom was mostly clean but the grout between the tiles around the bath was dirty.
The restaurant had limited choice and the food was basic and overpriced.
The hosts were really welcoming and helpful. The location was great, unfortunately nowhere to get an evening meal in Patterdale so we had to walk to the next village. My room was cold. Breakfast okay but no more. Lovely homemade marmalade
The staff the hotel and the setting are all absolutely amazing. We were taken great care of and the food was to die for. I highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone spending time here in Glenridding.
The location was excellent and close to activities. The views outside the hotel were excellent. There is also adequate parking outside of the hotel. The locally-produced beer tasted AMAZING!
The staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful. Really good food. Relaxing and clean. Great walks from the hotel, no need to drive. We would definitely stay here again.
the location was amazing,a beautiful quiet spot away from main roads but only by a couple of minutes away from patterdale and glenridding,we would definately go again
