It’s modern and the facilities are clean and well looked after. The keyless entry is a real plus so you don’t have an extra thing to carry around with you. Was privileged enough to meet the owner who was particularly hospitable and even helped us out with parking overnight.
The bar downstairs was fantastic and made for a very nice afternoon in the outside area

Royal Dockyard of the British Isles

My accommodation, booked and paid for, was a complete disaster. It no longer even existed. Don’t get caught out, and don’t believe anything you see about staying at ‘Zoom’, it is a lie.
I was thankful to get a room at Travelodge in Portsmouth instead, but all this after a long day’s travel by train from up north.
Travelodge felt like heaven! Portsmouth was fine, but tainted by my bad experience.

The coastal area is nice to walk along. The Mary Rose & Victory Museum are very good.
Portsmouth city centre is dull, lacking greenery or planters, many shops are empty. It is not an attractive city centre!
There is a statue of Charles Dickens in the Guildsquare otherwise the area is grim.

The attraction was the harbour.
The attraction was the harbour. The ticket was expensive but well worth it. The Mary Rose Museum was phenomenally good - exciting, imaginitive and caught the attention of grandparents, parents and children alike. The Victory was almost equally good and the guides there were exceptional. We also visited the Warrior where the guide took over explaining to the children, told us an immense amount but also had us all in fits of laughter. Strongly recommended for all ages
We also very much enjoyed Portchester castle and the exhibition on the prison there (and the cafe in the church.
Was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. All of the staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. The room was very nice, the bathroom super clean (with great shower pressure, a spacious tub, and VERY good hand soap). The bed was extremely comfy — unusual for all of the pillows to be as comfortable as this hotel. The decor of the entire place was very fun, properly themed. I had a good look at all the model boats. The breakfast was pretty standard, very edible. Spectacular location for Portsmouth Harbour attractions & Gunwharf Quays.
The room is enough space for 2 people. The bathroom is tiny but good. It has a small window which can open for fresh air and ventilation. The location is great, I can walk to Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Museum and Arts Gallery, and clarence pier Portsmouth. I booked it for 1 night. Actually, you could book for 2 nights and it would be better for travelling and explore more things. I got a car and there is secure parking in the hotel, £10 per 24 hours/day. Recommend it. I would come back again.
We were in transit having arrived late in the evening on the ferry from Spain and we were due to get the train early the following morning.
The hotel is in a good position as it is a short walk from Portsmouth and Southsea train station. The staff were friendly on arrival and the room was clean. Ideal budget accomodation.
No issues to report.
modern, clean, comfortable and a great breakfast. we only arrived at about 18.30 after flying back to England then a coach journey back to Portsmouth to get our car so I booked the hotel rather than a 6 hour drive after traveling all day, it was a short visit but we would definitely stay here if we come to Portsmouth again.
Perfect location overlooking Portsmouth harbour and the HMS warrior
Rooms were beautiful loved the arched windows on our room
Staff were friendly especially the waitress at breakfast
Reception manned 24hrs
3 minutes walk to gunwharf quays shopping centre, 1 min walk to Portsmouth harbour train station
Fantastic location to explore Portsmouth Gunwharf Quays
All the staff were nice, friendly & professional
Had a free and secure car park
Hotel was clean, nicely decorated and had its own bar
There was a Coop just next door
Had a great stay and would happily stay again - Thankyou Keppels Head Hotel!
Perfect location for our one night stay in Portsmouth. We walked home quickly after a day of shopping at Gunwharf quays and then took the catamaran to isle of wight the next day from Portsmouth Harbour. The apartment was large and comfy. We used the kitchen for dinner.
Wonderful property, especially for the price. Cheaper and closer to centre of Southsea than a hotel and more than you could want. Super clean, provided tea and coffee and shower gel, up there with one of the best places I’ve stayed
The hotel was in a convenient location. It was close enough to walk to the beach, shopping centre or the outlet. Breakfast was self serve which was good and the food remained hot. Staff were lovely. There were lifts also available.
Good cheap no frills budget hotel, close to town and all amenities.
5mins walk to the square tower in the heart of old Portsmouth.
Thin walls and noisy doors but overall good on a budget to see Portsmouth and Southsea.
Great location for easy access to Gunwharf Quays, Old Portsmouth, Southsea and the IoW. Cheap parking in the Gunwharf car park. The room was basic but okay.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
A stop over for 1 night before sailing to the IOW. Lovely hotel, only 10 minutes or so from Portsmouth Harbour. Plenty of places to eat in and around the hotel. Staff were friendly.
Everything was great, the parking permit is a great touch, I was not aware of this perk.
Having stayed a number of times at this hotel, everything was a good as usual.
The staff at this boutique no children hotel was great. Our room was very nice. We had breakfast made to order both days and the city of Portsmouth had so much to offer.
Great location in old Portsmouth. Terrific staff who shared the incredible history of the inn and were very helpful in all respects. Breakfast included was very nice.
