We loved how conveniently near it is from the station. Although you might need to walk more or take the bus to go around and find good places to eat but nonetheless very quiet neighborhood.

I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen.
I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen. The fare is ¥5900 one way and travel time is nearly an hour. I stayed at Toyoko Inn which is 150 meters from the Shin Fuji station. There are lots of car rentals in the area but I was not able to get one as they only accept advance booking from their website. It took me 2 hours getting to and from the foot of Mt. Fuji, by bus and a 15 minute walk in the village to reach my destinations. Roads are quite narrow but they are common in Japan. Like most countryside places in Japan, Fuji is relatively clean, rich in nature, and lots of places to explore. My advice if you want to visit Fuji: 1. Travel by Shinkansen going to and from Fuji. 2. Rent a car so you can visit most of the attractions in and around Mt. Fuji. 3. Spend at leat 3-4 days in the area. 4. Bring cash with you always as most establishments are cash based. 5. Download Papago app on your phone so you can translate Japanese images, signs, etc if you're having difficulty understanding the language. That's it and enjoy your trip to Mt. Fuji.

The host was amazing, he has two dogs. 50 years old traditional house is an experience itself. House is comfortably situated between two stations, one of which is Shinkansen stop. 7-eleven is nearby. Authentic experience of Japanese life different from hectic Tokyo, because not touristy.
The Fuji Green Hotel is a good pick for people looking to explore around the base of Mount Fuji. The hotel is across the street from Fuji station, so it is extremely easy to access for travelers, and there is a small-wheel bicycle visitors can borrow for free if they want to go further than walking distance. The room I stayed in was larger than I was expecting it to be, and had a nice view of the surrounding city. It probably has a good view of Mount Fuji as well, though I stayed during rainy and cloudy weather, so I cannot confirm it myself.
Everything about the hotel was well thought out. Even a hand basin in the room, a small fridge and TV. Comfortable futons as well! The lounge is great with tea /coffee making facilities. Jiro the host is always around to help with anything and will happily run your bath. The small bathroom has a ceramic bath, beautifully designed and a lovely way to end a long day. It was great having such close access to the rail and bus stations for the everyday excursions to Mt Fuji locations.
Incredible value for money, including a complimentary breakfast buffet and complimentary alcohol in the evening. The room is small-ish, which is to be expected, but has enough space for a desk and chair to work at in addition to the double bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and when we arrived early for check-in they allowed us to wait in the lobby. This hotel is also very conveniently located right across from Fuji Station.
During check-in, I appreciated the staff's responsiveness, as they promptly answered the intercom to facilitate a smooth and efficient process.
The twin room's window and the rooftop provided an impressive view of Mt. Fuji, particularly on clear days. Moreover, the kitchen was well-equipped with a variety of appliances, including a kettle, stovetop, microwave, and more, enhancing the overall convenience and functionality of the space.
The breakfast was good and worth the effort.
WiFi and a variety of USB plugs to cover most electronic devices
If it is a clear morning, get out to the bridge over the JR station (two-minute walk) Check out Fuji on the horizon.
Good location, plenty of places to eat nearby, a large grocery store a 5-minute walk and a 7-11 10 minute walk.
Great budget business hotel,
Simple but great breakfast, small but super clean room with all the facilities you will need for a short stay.
Location is just across Shinkansen station but hotel has free shuttle to JR station.
We saw mt fuji from our window on the sunny day!
We could not have wished for a more perfect view of Mt Fuji! The room was modest but very comfortable. A few “easy” and enjoyable restaurants within walking distance. Excellent service from the hotel staff. They could not have been more obliging.
Very authentic japanese experience for no money. The guy owning the place was so friendly and helpful (yes his english wasn’t the best but i didn’t see it as a problem). Had a great view over Mt fuji from my room. Definitely recommend! 😊
The hotel is conveniently located. There are several small restaurants within only a few minutes walk away. It is only about a 10 minute walk from the main bus station and the train station.
I got a top bed the room was very quiet despite a lot of residents, Kazu even advised me for the best place to see mount Fuji and gave me directions to take the train and bus to go there.
I like the convenient location which is right next to Shin Fuji station. I also love the way how it offers a bath for the guests and we love every part of it.
