Reine is a beautiful but very small town in Lofoten.
Reine is a beautiful but very small town in Lofoten. I went there for two nights and it was just right. First evening just explored the town, on the second full day I took the bus to A and walked around (they have some nice hikes with views) and on the next morning did climb to Reinebringen before going back to Svolvaer. So the trip was nice and productive :)
There are two restaurants (visited both and they have nice fish dishes); small shop at the center (mostly for snacks or burgers and ice cream) so if you need a proper grocery store you will have to walk to opposite short (around 30mins walk or 5mins by car).
In Reine you may also do some cycling and kayaking. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Its a picture perfect town.
Its a picture perfect town. I don't need to describe its beauty. Its apparent from my pictures itself. We were lucky to see Northern lights (Aurora Borealis ) during our stay. It made the stay even more unforgettable.

The cottage we stayed in was cosy with a fantastic view of the water and mountain, sitting there with a hot drink in hand and enjoying the view after a walk on a windy rainy day was the best way to end the day. Has all the things we need for cooking. Free parking space, easy to get in and out of places. It's a pleasant stay.

We did the Reinebrigen hike.
We did the Reinebrigen hike. Lots of people but amazing views.
We also rented a boat from the hotel and went to Vindstad and did the hike to Helvetestiden and Bunes beach. Loved it.
Drive down to the town of Å. Went to the old bakery for cinnamon rolls. Charming. Stopped for lunch at Maren Anna on the way back to the hotel.
The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant. We stopped in at Anitas Sjomat for shrimp and brought them back for dinner at our cabin. One night we walked to dinner at Gadus. Charming and convenient.

This is a truly beautiful and majestic landscape, and definitely not to be missed. Inevitably it's own fame and success, together with its one main road, means it can be busy at times, certainly during summer months.
I wouldn't miss it for the world, but there are other really stunning places in Noway to see without the cavalcade of motorhomes, so don't miss those either.

Beautiful location if you have a car.
Beautiful location if you have a car. Very remote with lots of hiking and water activities (for additional fees). You definitely get the sense of what a rugged place this is to live in year round. We had a wonderful (expensive) dinner at the Gammelbua restaurant. No fast food. Try the Coop Prix in Reine to pick up food for lunch/snacks. This is such a beautiful spot that renting a hotel early (6+months ahead) for the high Midnight sun summer season is a must. We enjoyed the museums in A (village south of Moskenes) as they set the stage for us to understand the recent legacy that is Lofoten today.
Beautiful location and very comfortable bed and bedding - the best yet in fact. The views were gorgeous and the location fine for us. This is an expensive area of the Lofoten Islands and we found it really expensive for what we got. It was very small and we were on the ground floor so it lacked a little privacy and we could hear the elephants stamping around upstairs! I would stay again but I would need to be assured of a top floor unit with balcony. I felt it was a little unfair to charge the same amount for both upstairs and downstairs.
My two-night stay was a truly memorable experience. I booked the small rorbu Minibua, wich provided beutiful views from the kitchen window. Minibua was cozy, clean, and well-equipped for easy cooking. The bunk beds were comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. The accessible parking nearby was a convenient perk, and I found it incredibly easy to explore the surrounding area.
Overall, Rostad Retro Rorbuer is super charming, and I highly recommend it for a cozy getaway in Lofoten!
A lot of new rorbuers were built since the last time I stayed here (about 8 years ago). It became bigger, but it is a trend you see in the Lofoten. The location is very good, good to discover the southern part of the Lofoten. The accommodation is comfortable and has everything you need. Good equipped kitchen, clean bathroom, good beds. There were not a lot of tourists when we were here, however, it might be a busy place when it is high season.
Fabulous converted rorbu (fishing hut) right on the water in Reine with beautiful views. Comfortable with a small living room area and kitchen that is equipped enough to cook basic meals. The sleeping situation is a sort of bunk bed with a double bed below and twin bed above that we found comfortable. Quite nice that breakfast is included at the B&B down the street. Great location as a jumping off point for hikes (e.g., Reinebringen).
Brand new Rorbuer with spectacular views over Reine. It was very well equipped and comfortable. Wifi was good. We didn’t have a car, which was no problem as the bus stops about 50m away. Right beside the bus stop is a supermarket so dead easy to self cater, although there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance.
The Location of May's is ideal, amazing direct views of the fjords & close to everything else. Its a very good sized apartment, very modern with all amenities and facilities that one requires. Reine was one of our favorites in all of Lofoten, and staying at May's made it totally worth.
Newly built with all modern amenities. Self check-in was super easy. Location is very impressive with Reinebringen in the front view. Coop supermarket is next door. Early morning sun shining on the mountain gives an amazing views. Highly recommended.
The bed, it’s so comfortable.
The location, Reine is tiny, but it’s right in the center.
Fridge and kettle available (instant coffee and tea too).
Room was really spacious (two comfortable chairs and a coffee table).
Beautiful views.
Very clean.
Simply, but clean. In this part of the country, you will not find a modern hotel, which is why this accommodation is a good choice. In the room is also a kitchen. There is no reception, you will receive codes for accommodation.
Everything was absolutely perfect and magical. The location is great— very convenient access to Reinebringen and a grocery store— and the view is phenomenal. The property was spotless and very thoughtfully stocked and curated.
The best view I've ever had in any accommodation I've stayed in (see image). Location is a fair walk from Reine but there is a bus stop nearby and restaurants. Great staff and home with a rich history.
the property is well located in Reine !
very clean, well maintained.
the owner is very helpful and help when problems arise
The appartement has a sweet view on the mountains.highly recommended !!!.
Awesome room, in a big house, with nice view. Almost felt like a Hotel. Kitchen was perfeclty equipped and everything felt cozy. The view from the balcony is superb. Check-in was super easy.
The house is fully equipped, the views are incredible and its owner Regine is super friendly and professional, I will certainly return to this accommodation on my next visit to Reine.
laundry room, kitchen, very clean, nicely updated, view & location were a 10, they even had an electric car charging station, within walking distance to Reinebringen hike
