Perfect location; 7-10 min walking distance to Multiplex Plaza Mall. Upper floor in hotel had minimal street noise.
The breakfast had many options for breakfast: yogurt, overnight oatmeal in jars, hot oatmeal, variety of breads & croissants. Always 3 bowls of fresh fruit. The chafing dishes needed heat beneath them to keep the fried and scrambled eggs warm. There was always 2 different options as well as the eggs, but never any bacon, sausages instead that tasted like weiners.
The staff was always pleasant & attentive in clearing emply plates.
The bartender made excellent margaritas!

Panama City has positives-we found the Metro and bus system useful and very cheap, but with the price of Ubers you might find them more convenient. We had no issues with the Ubers we used. In terms of things to do these were our favourites:
1)the Canal-the IMAX presentation was informative and watching a ship transit was fascinating-check to make sure there is a ship going through when you want to visit-there can be hours between them
2)the Biomuseum-we thought it was great especially if you are travelling with younger kids
3)the Old City- we enjoyed it but it is a tourist place- we found it interesting that while the Old City is a ‘must see’ it is bordered by areas of the city which are very sketchy, especially at night.
4)the board walk by the sea is a nice place to spend time in the evening
And that was about it for us. We are not out at night so can’t speak to the nightlife. Other than that we found Panama City, loud, and difficult to navigate on foot. For us, 2 days would probably have done it.

I just stayed in Panama City for 2 overnight layovers. I was a single female traveler who always felt safe. Panama City is sophisticated and cosmopolitan. Everyone I interacted with courteous and friendly. I hope to return soon to see more of this beautiful country with a big heart.

This is a modern city with all amenities.
This is a modern city with all amenities. Views along the waterfront are spectacular. We found a great place for coffee and breakfast in the old city and really enjoyed the rooftop bars and restaurants. It's very easy and inexpensive to get around with Uber or taxi. We found the rates with Uber to be very reasonable. Loved the seafood market whch is a collection of smaller eateries, and Casa Casco rooftop which offers panoramic city views. Do venture outside the city to see what else this diverse and vibrant country has to offer!

Panamá City is a wonderful mix of old and new, rich and poor. Wherever we went, especially in the Old Town we felt safe and welcomed. The churches, Spanish architecture, food, and wonderful celebrations should not be missed. The Miraflores Locks, including the IMAX movie is a must see. I would have never chosen Panama City as a place to visit if it had not been for a cruise we chose out of Colon, but, am so glad that we had this opportunity.

We stayed a week, which might have been a day too long.
We stayed a week, which might have been a day too long. Old Town was nice, but if going there try to avoid times when cruise ships arrive. Metropolitan Park and Ancon hill were both great. We visited Miraflores locks - took an Uber instead of a guided tour. It’s well worth doing, but before going be sure to check the times that shipping will pass that day. We had to wait around about 4 hours because we failed to do that! Loved the Cinta Contera great walks and views. Check out Mi Pueblito at the base of Ancon Hill- well worth the $3 fee which includes an English- speaking guide. Favorite restaurant - Lucca in El Congrejo. Upscale surroundings but not upscale prices, with excellent pizza. The rest of the menu looked great too. Murphys bar for happy hour drinks but I wouldn’t eat there again.
The location is excellent, very central and easy to navigate. Metro stop, large grocery store and several nice bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The breakfast bar is amazing (the coffee definitely exceeding my expecations!), the gym and pool are really nice, and I loved that this was an apartment (with a full kitchen, laundry and comfy couch to relax) during my 10 long days of work in Panama City. Felt like the perfect mix of home + hotel!
I stayed in this hotel for one night, which was the night I arrived in Panama from Scotland. I had no issues with the room, the staff or the facilities. The bathroom and shower were great, great temperature control in the shower. There was also a fridge and safe in the room. It is a great location for accessing Casco Viejo, plus it is pretty easy to get an Uber or taxi safely from Casco Viejo into Panama City.
I have been travelling in Panama for a while, and this is the first time I've been sad to leave a place. The room was great, the bed and covers was fantastic! The breakfast was the best one we've had in all of Panama (including 5* luxury hotels) The rooftop pool is amazing, and Happy Hour from 3pm to 8pm makes for an even more amazing time. I can't wait to stay here again next time I'm in Panama City!
A pleasant studio apartment ideally located in the Casco Viejo district in Panama City. One large central room with a small but well-equipped kitchen and a loft above the kitchen with a second bed. The apartment is close to several of better local restaurants for the times you want to dine out. Finally the price is reasonable for the area. You get twice the space of a hotel room at half the cost.
We loved EVERYTHING about Amarla Boutique Hotel from checkin to checkout. The property itself is absolutely beautiful with the views on the rooftop to match it. The little touches throughout were an added bonus (checkin cocktails, cool towels). The staff are very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Panamá City.
We had high expectations for this hotel and they were exceeded. This is easy walking to many good restaurants and not far from the tourist sites. Also when you want to get around, Uber in Panama City is very inexpensive (be like us, tip well)
The corner room is amazing. See my photo of the floor diagram.
Bed was comfortable, room was super clean, Internet WiFi reliable and fast. Comfortable desk and chair to work from the room. Hotel staff were really helpful for everything I asked. Breakfast was delicious! Thank you so much, I will definitely stay here again if I am in need for hotel in Panama City.
The Beach House is a perfect location if you plan to visit Taboga island. Two ferry companies are within walking distance. It's in close proximity to Amador Causeway which has plenty of restaurants, bike rental shops, street vendors and entertainment. A lift to Panama City was less than $7.00
It was ok for a short stay. We didn’t stay much in the hotel, we were travelling around Panamá City, the building and the room were quite old, but it was clean. The access to all the highlights of the city was very easy by taxi. The staff was very nice and helpful.
The hotel's strongest selling point is it's central location in downtown Panama city. The staff were polite and helpful with check-in, and the complementary breakfast in the morning made up for the somewhat basic feel of the place.
Location was perfect. Lots to do in the neighborhood. The staff was A+ and the restaurant in the hotel was amazing. I would definitely stay there again next time I am in Panama City which is hopefully soon (-:
11/10 way to go!!!
This is a funky little hotel right in the middle of the action in the old part of Panama City. The rooms are large, comfortable and very arty. There is a great restaurant and a rooftop bar.
It's a very nice hotel in the financial district of Panama City. Good location, close the shopping centers. Staff granted my request for a room on the top floors. Great view!
Fabulouss location, great staff and service, very good breakfast, nice and comfortable rooms.
The best hotel I have stayed in Panama City. Excellent value for money.
We've stayed in many similarly priced Panama City hotels but The Executive is definitely the best. Room was clean and smelled fresh. Well equipped gym.
