Completely misleading description, not on the Riverside as stated, no easy parking, extremely difficult to find. Room was extremely cold, no facilities, no kettle, no-one else in the property but not given a view. Listed as a luxury hotel, it is not. If I hadn't paid beforehand I would have asked for a huge discount. Dreadful place simply foul.

Lovely stay just outside of Alcacer do Sal. Need a car to access but very close to town. Very quiet and peaceful location - loved seeing the light and fog over the rice fields in the morning and listening to the birds.
Isabelle has done a wonderful job of converting an old rice barn - keeping the old details but updating with modern and fresh decorating. Nice common area to relax during the day or evening. Isabelle and her staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. Breakfast was superb with many options hot and cold.

Aside from one qualification, the location is superb, a five minute walk to the river with its restaurants, cafes, etc. The qualification is that the flat is on a small street in the old part of town, so parking outside is for the most part out of the question. But there is nearby parking, at various spots, within easy walking distance.

A nice and quiet place, with small nice restaurants.

Some bridges with different coloured light cross the Sado river, joining the two halves of the town, and give a touch of magic to the town during the night.
Two huge stork-nest on the top of the Cathedral complete a very suggestive picture of the town.

Alcacer do Sal is a lovely place to spend a relaxing break.
Alcacer do Sal is a lovely place to spend a relaxing break. There are numerous restaurants/cafes/bars. There are places of interest to visit, for those interested in history and archeology. Also just a short drive away there are some beautiful beaches and interesting towns and typical Alentejo villages. Good for walking and cycling.

The tourist office is small, but helpful.
Next time it would be good to hire bicycles as there are designated cycle paths, with easy cycling.

The unusual and historic hotel over looking the town below...
The unusual and historic hotel over looking the town below with views for miles. The river with lots of cafes and restaurants long the prom. Out of season still plenty of places open and the only draw back was the walk into town, 10 mins downhill, half an hour to walk back up.

I really liked everything with no reserves, starting on the contact with Maria, our host, that was super easy going and clear about informations.
Then the location is perfect, the decoration very contemporary and fresh. Beds are very comfortable and everything was perfect in what concerns cleaning. I really felt at home!
One warm word to the staff that I had the opportunity to met.
Thank you Al’Casas do Sal, I can’t wait to discover your other space Casas da Horta in my next trip to Alcácer do Sal.
The hosts are very aware of the reviews. A lot of the issues in past reviews have been solved.
Very easy to check in.
The room is very generous in terms of space, it is excellent for a couple.
We also found the room very clean.
The washing machine was a great addition.
The location is great, right on the main avenue. Free parking right in front of the building.
Nice touch in having two floor towels in the bathroom, and a mop, since the shower glass door sometimes leaks to the floor.
We were the only people staying on the property when we were there, so we had the place to ourselves. It was quiet, peaceful and in a very pretty location. It was our first night in Portugal, so a relaxing way to start out. Abundant parking. Fairly easy to find, and not a long drive into town to get some dinner. The breakfast area was quite wonderful and we especially liked the woman who prepared our delicious breakfast.
Location amazing, excepcional views, the restoration of the building and integration of the necessary facilities for the use as hotel of the former castle and convent were beautifully done, achieving comfort and quality for guests.
Staff very friendly and competent, 5*
Delicious breakfast, with lots of options, even including local gastronomy.
Pousadas de Portugal is still a synonym of quality.

The hotel staff was very nice and flexible. We booked two rooms late in the evening without knowing that the check-in closed at 23:30. The hotel staff called us to check when we would arrive, and she waited an extra 30min for us to arrive.
The rooms are clean, and one of the rooms had a beautiful view to the river.
Very nice and helpful staff. Wonderful pool in an amazing setting. Unique experience staying in a renovated castle on the hilltop. Breakfast was also delicious with a wide variety to choose from. Easy walk to town for dinner. Views from the hotel were like a postcard.
Amazing views from our riverside room, similar to the breakfast dining room with panoramic views. Excellent breakfast, very helpful staff and lively restaurants nearby. We have visited this area a number of times and this hotel is a great local treasure.
Just out of town, this is an interesting redevelopment of a former industrial property. Hotel was clean with good facilities for guests and businesses. Excellent restaurant on site, wine store as well. We highly recommend.
Breakfast was great and looking out at the workers taking care of the vineyard while enjoying the food was an extra treat. The hotel area and room were spotlessly clean. Bed and linens were first class.
A delightful little village near Alcacer do Sal, Quintinha is the perfect place to unwind and get to know the real Portuguese lifestyle. Best views, great for walking, nice service by Joao.
