VNDG gives the most amazing views of Porto. A short walk across the bridge to the city. Its flat where I stayed but the city is very steep with lots of steps so wear sneakers. The tiled churches as stunning. Doing all the touristy things - I caught the cable car, the tram, the furnicular, shopped the markets, visited the churches, climbed the tower, booked for the Livraria Lella, had a glass of wine at the market, went to wine bars, Time Out market for dinner and Portuguese tarts with coffee.
I had a fabulous time and visited World of Wine as Porto is a Great Wine Capital.

There are good restaurands ,and not very expensive.
The riverside is lively and you should take a gable to the hillside.

Beautiful part of Porto, right over the river with plenty to do. Most of the Porto wine "caves" are on this side of the river but getting across is a quick uber ride. We did a Tuk Tuk tour as well and got to enjoy a Fado performance at night. New Years Eve dinner cruise was great but book ahead so you don't miss out! I would definitely visit again!

The area has plenty of interesting things to visit.
The area has plenty of interesting things to visit. Of course, the region is very well known for the vineyards and the respective Port wine cellars, which you can visit and even have a wine tasting. A walk by the river is also recommended.

Being across the river from the old town means gorgeous views and a wonderful relaxed vibe. So many great places to eat and drink all within a short walk. And the old town is easily accessible by foot, tram, even cable car. You are surrounded by the port warehouses, and other renovated industrial buildings. The whole area has had a recent facelift and the city as a whole is very safe and friendly. Everywhere you go the staff and shopkeepers go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing stay. Except the lady in the tourist information. She must have been having a bad day!

The location right on the Douro River was exceptional. We had a wonderful view of the river and of Porto from our room and balcony. Our studio had a lovely bathroom, kitchen and sitting area as well. The breakfast buffet was the best we encountered in our one month stay in Portugal. What a great variety of food, and you could order other items to be cooked for you, too. We also ate dinner at the rooftop bar and in the restaurant and had excellent food both places. Every person we encountered on the staff was so friendly and helpful.
A small hotel located perfectly for visiting all the Port-wine cellars in Villa Nova de Gaja and also for Porto old town. The central station in Porto is just a 25 minute walk away.
At the hotel we had a very warm welcome, the staff is great and the breakfast very nice and cosy. The rooms provide more than enough space to stay a week and everything is nice and clean. The hotel is located a couple hundred meters away form the busy main road so it is nicely silent most of the time especially over night.
HIGHLY recommend!!!
The staff was extremly friendly and welcome upon my arrival at the hotel. I have selected a specified check-in, however, I arrived earlier in Porto since my Alfa Pendular met the scheduled arrival time. Even tho, they checked me in an hour before my requested time and didn't charge any extra.
The hotel location (Coimbrões) can offer a vast number of buses and trains to Porto-Campanhã or Gaia. You can do a 20 minutes walk to Gaia-Devesas station, which isn't that far from the hotel.
A truly exceptional 5 star stay. Everything from the breakfast, to the upgraded suite with a warm welcome and a happy birthday note, the spa, the happy hour reception, and the bar- I truly enjoyed my stay. As a travel influencer and travel agent who visited for my birthday. I will certainly stay here again and make sure my clients book this hotel for their future travels to Porto, Portugal. I literally have no complaints and can't wait until I can return!
The apartment was comfortable, and having a balcony at both ends meant we could always have a wonderful view and a breeze!
The kitchen was well supplied.
The Homeit phone app worked well, and it was nice to have a key for backup.
The location of the apartment was so convenient- subway and trains, bakeries and restaurants all within a block.
We liked having very quick access to downtown Porto, while being away from the busiest streets.
The staff are incredible, helpful and kind. The property is beautiful, clean and the service is impeccable. You are in Gaia not Porto but overlook Porto and the river and 10 min walk over the bridge to Porto. The hotel is very unique because you check in on the 14th floor and go down to your rooms. Absolutely lovely place to stay, we really, really enjoyed it and would definitely book here again on our next visit to Porto!
Excellent location, stunning view from our room. We were in Porto during a heatwave and the pool saved us! Everything was incredibly clean and the included breakfast was delicious. Stylish rooms and excellent décor. Attentive reception and housekeeping staff. The hotel helped organize a wine tour of the Douro Valley and we didn't have to do anything other than show up and pay. Highly recommend.
Fabulous hotel with amazing views over Porto, staff friendly & provided an excellent service in all areas. Good choices at breakfast & restaurant was well worth the visit. Excellent location for visiting Porto on foot - the lift up to the hotel is a bonus after a long day. Wonderful visit to the Douro Valley & vineyards. Will definitely return & no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Newly renovated and immaculately clean apartment in a great location. Comfy bed and sofabed and amazing power shower. Hosts were super friendly and really helpful with travel advice. Outdoor swimming pool was a nice bonus too. Absolutely loved Vila Nova de Gaia which was a more relaxing location than central Porto. We really enjoyed our stay - highly recommended!
Extremely clean and comfortable apartment. Beautifully decorated and has everything you need. Bedrooms are quiet and have blackout blinds. Location felt really safe and is easily accessible. Quick and easy communication with the hosts. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend this apartment to anyone planning to visit Vila Nova de Gaia or Porto!
Breakfast was brilliant - the breakfast experience at Novotel Porto Gaia exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff's professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to assist made me feel truly valued as a guest. The wide selection of fresh produce ensured a delightful culinary experience, and the flexible opening hours catered to my needs.
The Hotel is modern and well decorated, with fantastic views to Porto downtown and all necessary amenities. Comfortable rooms and the breakfast is one of the best we've tried. Attentive service which was much appreciated (Thank you for the birthday surprise). We loved it and certainly wish to stay at Rebello whenever we visit Porto/Gaia again!
When I arrived late back in Porto the weather was too bad to continue my journey, so I tried to book at several hotels around the airport and even in towards town but there were no availabilities. Apparently, this is an almost constant issue. The Holiday Inn Porto Gaia was the only available hotel and the service was excellent.
Big, modern and very clean apartment with a great location at Vila Nova de Gaia. Stunning view of Porto within 50m out of the flat. Easy to get to many places by foot, proximity to a metro. Nice and well equipped kitchen, strong wi-fi, privat garage. English speaking host, friendly, welcoming.
Very cute and clean apartment in a quiet and easy location to explore Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto! AC in every room ensured for maximum comfort. Easy check in/check out process. Tons of things to eat and do moments outside our door. Paolo was responsive and helpful before and during our stay.
The location in Gaia is fantastic for a visit to Porto as well as the Gaia port wine side. A short walk gets you everywhere quickly yet the hotel itself is quiet and like a sanctuary. The room was wonderful and since we were on the fourth floor we had a view. The breakfast was excellent.
The location is excellent! Fabulous views of Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, and the Douro River. Right by Jardim do Morro. Most places you'd care to visit are walkable and if you don't want to walk, it's 5 minutes to excellent public transportation. The apartment was clean and well furnished.
Happy that we chose this hotel! Room was great for two people. Breakfast was nice and delicious! Staffs are very friendly and accommodating!! Would recommend this hotel if you go to Porto! :D
Staff was very accommodating, location was great for port cellars, tastings, and restaurants in Vila Nova de Gaia. very close to bridge for short walk to Porto.
