Amazing staff that went out of their way to assist us. They found a hairdryer for my daughter and ironed a shirt for my son in law for a wedding they attended on the Saturday. They even delivered the ironed shirt to our tent.

It was self service but the kitchen was well equipped and the hosts provided extras like beer, wine and milk. The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. The location in a spacious quiet safe haven outside Stanford was ideal with an easy commute to Hermanus and views of the mountains.

It has a delightful small town feel about it with restaurants and shops. There is a friendly, laid back atmosphere whilst Hermanus is a short drive away with its numerous attractions. In short it offers all the attractions of Hermanus whilst being in a peaceful rural setting.

We stayed 10 minutes outside of Standford.
We stayed 10 minutes outside of Standford. It seems to be a very relaxed quiet town with quite a few restaurants and coffee places. Saturday seems to have a market and there are several antique/art/gift shops to browse around.

: You MUST really be honest about the flies and the extreme noise due to the wind. We could not sleep with three families. Children cried. 1 family left a day early. Never experienced such a bad thing during any of my stays. You should change your name to AfriCramping instead of AfriGlamping.
Swimming was great in lake

So we had an interesting experience being "marooned"...
So we had an interesting experience being "marooned" after a flood of the Klein river that turned into a "Groot" river which washed away the approaches to the bridge. The owner Cameron was fantastic in his communication with all his guests and his efforts to get us out a day later after making sure we were all provided for with food etc. His generator ran intermittently allowing us have light etc Heating was by fireplaces lots wood provided A great place Really nice comfortable accommodation Breakfasts need some more imagination and a restaurant on site would be perfect Will go back in the summer
Coot Club is a wonderful addition to the south coast of South Africa. The boathouses are divine - beautifully furnished with extraordinary views. The Spookhuis is a gem - and those milkwoods around the dining area are priceless. The pizzas on Friday nights are perfect and the light lunch was just what we wanted after a long walk to the sea and a kayak. Ben and Michele were both very warm and welcoming and helped pack cooler boxes and organize dinner last minute on the first night.
My husband and I had a lovely staycation at Rivergate. A quiet and peaceful stay with attentive staff. We loved the fresh farm breakfast delivered to our room every morning. Not much to do if you're looking for an activity filled stay, but there are animals to pet and a river to kayak/swim in. Only down side is the gravel road we had to drive leading up to the entrance of the farm, however we were told once we got there that the road was set to be fixed the week following our stay.
Absolutely stunning and peaceful stay at this lovely farm. The cottage was beautifully furnished and well equipped. The farm itself was lovely, with lots of chickens and donkeys and alpaca. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food baskets we ordered were absolutely delicious and a great idea for an evening braai, you don't need to take anything with you. Can't wait to go back.
Location was great - we loved it as it was easy to walk into town and no need to use our vehicle during our stay. the food and the locals of Stanford were amazing, from La Cantina, to Searles to Table 13 a mention of the lovely saturday market where we bought the most amazing street food and a walk down to the river to enjoy our on the go coffee and treats. Nothing but sublime!!!!
Loved our stay. Very comfortable and with a lot of character. Everything provided you could possibly need (even a lemon for our G&Ts!) . Spotlessly clean. Friendly owner. Beautiful pool set in a lovely garden - definitely bring your cozzie! Very centrally located - walking distance to restaurants and pub. Will try and stay here again when we return to Stanford!
Super nice young farm, with lovely decorated cottages with wood-fired KolKol hottubs. We loved the breakfast, it's all so nice and charming at this farm. We could use the SUP and canoes at the water, but the wind was a bit too strong when we were there. But great vibes, amazing view, good location to explore Stanford / Hermanus area :-)
A lovely cottage well located in the beautiful village of Stanford. It was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. It felt like home. We were sad to leave and hope to return one day.
Marié was an excellent host. She was there to welcome us, gave us useful information on the area and kept in contact.
The view over Stanford and the dam was the best. And you could see the sunset. This was made even better by the hot tub which is situated on the deck of the tent. each tent have different views and locations for the hot tub. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and spacious. The Shower is nice and big
The Lodge at the Springfontein estate is a short drive from the main Barn where meals are served.
We happened to be alone with no other booking that weekend.
I believe we were moved to a slightly bigger room with a direct view onto the river.
This was lovely.
Beautiful property with actively working farm. Plenty of friendly animals. The staff was also very friendly. The vineyard is beautiful and the wine is delicious the accommodations were situated beautifully at the foot of the hills.
Perfect little hide-away. Beautifully decor and style - Aloe Cottage will see me again! I have fallen in love with Stanford.
Aloe Cottage is the perfect place for a weekend or a break away. Attention to detail is amazing.
The location was superb and the house is a gem! it has all the comforts one can ask for and more. The fact that it located on the river and have access to kayaks, a pool, walking distance access to town is great!
What a beautiful stay in Stanford. I loved the attention to detail and the personal decor touch of the cottage. Paul, Lorraine and Karin were excellent hosts and made us feel more then welcome. We'll be back!
This was by far one of the best properties I have stayed at. As a first time visitor to Stanford I would recommend Springfontein Wine Estate to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.
The room was spacious and had every comfort i can think of. The farm has several beautiful and magical spots. A tranquil yet luxurious space. Amazing pool and beautiful animals.
The owners were amazing! Really helpful and attentive during the flooding of Stanford.
