Casa de CAMPO HUAKA HUASY is situated in Cachí and offers a garden and a terrace. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. I'm glad I was there on a clear night; it's a place you can see all the stars from. This is a very spacious and well-appointed cottage in a super-serene location. Woke up to probably the best Andes vista I found during my time in Salta. It's a very cute getaway with a lot of character, sheep and dogs on the property, and the hosts were friendly, flexible and accommodating. Wish I stayed longer.

Posada de las Viñas is a 3-star property situated in Tolombón. This country house features free private parking and a concierge service. I don't normally give 10's, because then how do you rate those places that are truly exceptional. Posada de las Vinas is the epitome of exceptional. Gustavo and Alicia are warm and gracious hosts. The other staff are just as nice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxed. The food and the wine... oh my God!! We shared New Year's Eve with Gustavo and Alicia, their family and friends, and the other guests. Dinner was three hours, featuring the Argentinian epitome of BBQ - the Asado, and excellent wine from the vines growing only a few meters away. Liz and I speak very little Spanish, but we really felt like part of the family - pool time, walking with the dogs through the vineyard, reading on the balcony. It's not fancy, but if you want good down-home comfort this is the place to be.

Casa de Campo La Paya is located in Cachí. The guest house provides an Argentinian restaurant as well as free WiFi. Towels and bed linen are featured in the guest house. Fascinating (large, comfortable) rooms with 2-foot-thick adobe walls, local art/antiques displayed. Lovely courtyard, lounge with bilingual library and local art collection plus good Internet/WiFi (signal couldn’t penetrate our room, however). Very good breakfast including delicious fresh cactus fruit; hotel owners have a farm and even grow fruits in hotel courtyard. Dinner was superb. On our night the (single, fixed-price, all-included) menu was delicious tomato soup with local cheese (extra servings offered and eagerly eaten), large tender beefsteaks, flavorful roast vegetables (from that farm), choice of desserts (we ate fruit compote with nuts), excellent regional wine. The menu changes daily. Bilingual (Spanish/English) owner/manager.

The best accommodation we have ever stayed in, a beautiful property, a whole ranch for the 20 of us. With people there for anything we need, from making the best dinner in the world, breakfast, to doing laundry.

You feel like home. The property is wonderful, the staff is great, the food was delicious. The views of the surroundings are great. It was a pleasure to have a horse ride to the surroundings.
