Northern Brazilian Lush Beach Resort
The Brazilian city of Maceió is surrounded by lush vegetation, tranquil and crystalline waters, coral banks, and white sandy beaches adorned with coconut trees. Capital of the Alagoas state, it owes its name to the word the natives used to call the natural springs that form lagoons in the area. It is today one of the most popular beach resorts in northern Brazil.
Founded in the 19th century around sugar mills and sugar plantations, it became an important trading port for primary products. It was officially recognised as a village in 1815, and it was declared state capital of Alagoas in 1839.
The coastal areas of the city are packed with services for tourists, like hotels, shops, restaurants, nightclubs and cafés. Some of the best Maceió accommodation, including apartments and 5-star beach resorts are located here.
The June Festival is one of the most important celebrations in the northern Brazilian regions. The quintessential Carnival is also widely popular, and the city has its own festivity called Maceió Fest. Great beaches. Wonderful weather considering it was winter. Hangs restaurant and Bodega do Seratou were great restaurants. Park and food trucks were good for the children. Low tide allowed us to walk to reef. Children enjoyed their first snorkelling experience. Hired a car and drove to beaches north and south. Praia São Frances was great a low tide. Saw plenty of species of tropical fish at Praia Paripueira. Not from from Parque shopping centre for movies.

The staff is very friendly, the room was spacious and clean, the room service was pretty fast, the rooftop pool has incredible views, and the breakfast was varied and tasty! Plus, the location is absolutely perfect: right in front of the sea and it is pretty quiet. The hotel also has free coffee and water at the entrance, which is really convenient. If we are going to return to Maceio, we are definitely staying here again.
