Amazing location with panoramic views over the sea. One wakes up and falls asleep to the sound of the waves.
The apartment is very spacious, the bedroom is a decent size too and the beds very comfortable. Parking on site.
The terrace is no longer shared with the neighbours, a wooden wall has been built to divide the terrace so each apartment has their own private part.

It was the best place we stayed in Iceland so far. The whole apartment was super cozy and warm. Sleeping with the sound of the sea is amazing. While we were there there was a blizzard and we were actually happy because by being stuck we could enjoy the place more. Super recommended

Place and people are nice,
Place and people are nice, the right position to visit Snaefellsjokull National Park and the west of the peninsula. There are no easily accessible restaurants and shops, you have to provide all your supplies. In the hostel, you have a nice functional kitchen, refrigerator, and a small bar to buy drinking and snacks: light beverages, juices, potato chips, and smarties. To find milk, bread, and food, you have to wait for the day after, at the nearest shop with a minimum 15 km run. Once you organize yourself, life is comfortable, and friend are nice.GiuseppeItaly - 10Scored 10

Small, quiet town along the water near the tip of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It is quite beautiful in the area with sites nearby. We were trying to find a hotel close to the Snaefellsjokull...
We were trying to find a hotel close to the Snaefellsjokull Nat'l Park. Now that we have been there, we would opt for staying on Olafsvik (with 2 restaurants for dinner) or go to other side of park at Hellnar or Arnarstapi. Hellissandur didn't have much going on, except Gilbakki Kaffihus is very nice for mid-morning snack, lunch or afternoon break. Very nice people.

I went to climb Snæfellsjökull, a 30 year ambition. Weather was horid, glad to not be spending the next 300 year as part of a glacier. Lets say it was an exciting day and not for those without experience with Ice weapons.CliveUnited Kingdom

When we stayed, there were just a few other guests and we were able to enjoy the spacious "living room" sitting on the couch and chatting through the evening. The room to sleep was very comfortable too with all that we needed. Special kudos to the host Vitte (I may spell his name wrong) - many thanks for the warm welcome!

There are no words to describe what we felt after opening the door: living room and kitchen has a soul and add to this comfortable bed and these views...... sea on one site and mountain on the other.... Great view from the privat balcony (family of seals to watch with the provided binoculars you find in the appartement). Super comfortable beds, nice equipped kitchen and all you ever need in the bathroom. If you stay in Hellisandur, go and have yourself a great dinner in the Vidvik restaurant, that makes you stay perfekt.

Given that Hellisandur is such a small town, Gotuhus is within easy walking distance of the restaurants, gas station with groceries, the legendary The Freezer culture club and hostel, and the entrance to Snaefellsjokull National Park.
