Ever since a problem was encountered on Apollo 13, Houston has been an international household name. The 4th largest US city, it is home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center where Mission Control is located. Of course, this is not its only claim to fame. This is Texas after all, where everything is big.
Houston’s Reliant Astrodome was the world’s first indoor sports stadium under a domed roof, and the Galleria is the largest mall in Texas. The city’s Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest in the world, and the JP Morgan Chase Tower is the planet’s tallest 5-sided building. The list goes on.
Amid the skyscrapers of the thriving CBD is the Toyota Center, home of the city’s NBA and AHL teams. The theatre district is also in the downtown area, whereas the museum district is concentrated to the north-east of Hermann Park, home of a boating lake, nature reserve and miniature railway. Also here is Houston Zoo, and just west is Rice University, one of several in the city.
The bohemian Rice Village is popular with students, as are the city’s historic pubs and leafy parks. Houston also has no shortage of restaurants or accommodation options. Those on Booking.com include motels, apartments and hotels near George Bush Airport.

Make sure you visit Congress Bridge at dusk to see the famous bat, on your way to the bridge call into Cooper's BQQ situated between 2nd and 3rd Street on Congress, you won't regret it! Also visit the Congress building to admire the architecture. I would also recommend venturing out of the city by walking down 6th Street under the I35 and you will discover a very nice area with many new bars, restaurants and micro breweries. I when I booked this room through booking.com I paid extra for me and my family to eat breakfast. Found out at the hotel that since I booked through booking.com they don't recognize that payment even though I showed them my page from booking.com that showed that breakfast was included. Needless to say we had to find another place to eat breakfast.

Lots of things to do.
Lots of things to do. I traveled with family including a 4 y.o. Many parks with playgrounds. Museum district is amazing. Great restaurants. At least 5 days to visit the city. Space Center is also a must go.

The tunnel system allowed you to get about without being out in the heat, but it was difficult to know exactly where you were at times. The zoo is highly recommended, lots to see and despite the crowds, it was easy to view all the animals. Checked in in the early morning hours of 3/13/2024. Booked through a 3rd party site and this was on my reservation. Even requested a crib for a small child. Initially the gentleman assisting stated that I would have to pay for an extra night due to the time I was checking in and advised that I could resolve the issue later with an owner of the hotel. He then advised that he would charge me the amount on my reservation. Unbeknownst to him, I had just had issues with the rental car company, had just flown in to Houston traveling with a 1 1/2 year old and was in what i consider home for a funeral of a sibling so it was already a challenged day. I was so appreciative that this did not become an issue as well. The clerk assisting was absolutely wonderful.

It was about $7-9 US to get downtown by Lyft but you could also walk a few blocks and catch the street train to downtown. The staff at all hours were amazing and so kind and helpful. The free breakfast was likely the best I’ve ever had at a hotel! We also like their outdoor patio which we used for breakfast but also in the evening to play cards.
