Very clean villas in a small farm, only 3 parties at maximum, quiet and friendly, in a orange / citrus / banana plantation, with a pool and a jacuzzi. The farm is surrounded by ancient-looking walls out of lava stone, and boasts an equally ancient-looking lookout tower. My kids did love the cat that came visiting frequently

An extremely comfortable, quiet and homely place; although we were there for only three days at the 1 bedroom house, I'd definitely recommend this for (and encourage!) longer stays. We loved coming back to this place after a day of sightseeing and driving around to a quiet location with just the sounds of crickets chirping. It's a well-sized accommodation too, so you never feel squeezed on space. The general location of this place within Sao Miguel island is practically perfect - fairly central and very well connected in a couple of directions, but not too close to any major road so as to be noisy. Bonuses include secure car parking inside the compound, a nice swimming pool, lots of greenery (including plantations of bananas, tea and a few other things that we unfortunately didn't get a chance to try), a very helpful manager in Paulo, and the sweetest German Shepherd named Kika who we already miss a lot :(.

The hotel is well situated near the Ponta Delgada and centrally located to most of the island's attractions. Caroline and Ali are fabulous hostesses, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple but nicely done; the outdoor hot shower was really excellent. We were able to check in as early as 8 am. Caroline communicated with us from the day of the booking and helped with dinner arrangements. Breakfast was really nice, with most of the local food. The Gin Library introduced us to the world's unheard amount of gins, and Ali is a great entertainer and a big gin admirer.

The owners were very friendly, they gave us some recomendations on where to eat near the house. We stayed in a small "villa" for 2 Persons. It was very spacious for two. We very much enjoyed the veranda just in front of the villa. The surroundings are very quiet, we had some great sleep.
