This charming bed and breakfast is where we always stay in this area because you are instantly relaxed and in vacation mode the moment you step foot on the property. This hotel is run by a lovely couple that are very hands on to your needs, very friendly and helpful to give you recommendations on restaurants, hikes and things to see in the area. They also make an amazing breakfast each morning and will make an amazing gourmet dinner upon request. The rooms are decorated with such personal touches and the views and tranquility of grapes, mountains and river views, you could sit and relax on a swing or lounge chair outside the room for hours. Sunsets with a glass of wine are amazing there also. I would highly recommend this!!

Our host Elio was so friendly and helpful! Even though he only spoke a little english, he gave us a wonderful route to drive and see some of the amazing sights of the area. It was also fun having breakfast with the 2 other couples who were staying there at the same time. We had 4 languages at the table (English, French, German, and Portuguese), but everyone was friendly and it made it a fun experience. Also the cheese Elio makes on the farm was excellent! So good that we had to get some to take with us to our next stop. And I can't forget to mention the friendly animals we got to meet while we visited too.

Cantinho da Estrela is located in Seia and includes free WiFi access. The guest house is just 9 km from the green areas of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. We loved the location and character of the village. Easy parking on the streets. The house was welcoming the bedroom and toilet were a good size. Good aircon and host was lovely and accommodating.

The 17th century Solar de Alarcao features a garden and a furnished terrace with Guarda views. The centre of Guarda is a 4-minute drive from the property. Located centrally near everything to see. A very nicely preserved building and decorated well to the period of its time. The owner greeted us personally and explained all the details of the building. Parking is available.

This was very nice evening and night in Quinta de Sao Tiago. Also good breakfast.
