Summerplace Game Reserve is one of South Africa’s premier mountain biking destinations. Escape to the bush and experience life outdoors. I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations. Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.

Set just 32 km from Ohrigstad Dam Nature Reserve, Ploughman’s Rest offers accommodation in Ohrigstad with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. This place is amazing. I was not sure what to expect when I booked and it exceeded all my expectations. The house is beautiful. The lady receiving us was very friendly. We felt like home, in the evening they made a fire for us. It was lovely to have a glass of wine there.

Boschoek Farm homstead has a 4-bedroom farmhouse and a 1 bedroom flat located within 19 km of Tzaneen. Enjoy staying on a working avocado and macadamia nut farm. We love staying in the Macadamia n Avocado farm but you must have your own transport

Set on a 270 hectare farm with 1 Trout dam and 1 Bass/Carp dam, Woolly Bugger Farm is located in the idyllic Tonteldoos Valley. A superb experience. We WILL be back and also stay longer :-)

Set in Haenertsburg and only 2.8 km from Long Tom Monument, Silver Mist Resort offers accommodation with lake views, free WiFi and free private parking. Location was good. Views excellent. Firewood provided. Inside fireplace an added bonus as at the end of May the nights were getting colder.

Situated off the R101, within 10 km from Bela-Bela is Mon Repos Guest Farm. It offers an outdoor pool, garden and bar. The Waterberg Zipline Adventures is 3 km away. What we enjoyed the most was the friendliness and hospitality of Johan and Rina. We were even invited to their personal home to watch Johan feed his impala and bush buck. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and breakfasts were fantastic.

Set in Haenertsburg, within 5.6 km of Long Tom Monument and 13 km of Woodbush Forest, Lakeview Cottages offers accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive. It's a little piece of paradise. We felt so welcomed and well looked after by the owner and Charl. We love everything they did at the cottage and the beautiful garden. All the details are being taken care of. It's a pity we only stayed for one night this time but we will surely return to enjoy the garden and play with the dogs.

Koppiesvlei Farm, a property with a garden, is set in Tonteldoos, 24 km from Dullstroom Bird of Prey & Rehabilitation Centre, 33 km from Verloren Vallei Nature Reserve, as well as 48 km from Belfast... We LOVED everything - the location, the accommodation, the peace and quiet. It was a home-away-from-home - even the resident dogs adopted us and followed our children everywhere they went on the farm.
