Awesome place to stay at during your trip to Hakone! The Irori dinner (absolutely do book this!) was a fun experience and we enjoyed meeting other travellers. The staff were very helpful and accommodating during our stay. Our cozy little attic bedroom was clean and very comfy to sleep in despite the cold autumn weather <3 The shared facilities were clean and the common area nice and lively!

Great little hotel in Hakone, it's in the northeast side of the town so very accessible to hikes, and there are several restaurants nearby. The owner recommended Monda izakaya which had excellent food, and he even made a reservation for me! The owners are great people and are super welcoming/helpful, they told me all of the spots to check out in Hakone and what route to take to reach them all which was super helpful. Highly recommend this place!

The hostel clerk working during my stay has an amazing English. Arranging staff, spacious and clean dorm with lot of space compared to regular capsule. Perfect for me as a solo-traveller. The bathroom is the onsen, which is totally ok.

Excellent communication with the host, thank you. Just to note, if you have bags you may wish to get a taxi from the train station, as there is a steep uphill part of the walk there. We found the walk fine without bags and very picturesque as you walk across two bridges over the rivers.

The host was incredibly lovely and offered to drive us to Hakone Gora Park on our first day. The host also spoke very good English. The rooms were capsule-style and very clean. The other guests were very quiet and respectful. The location was fairly convenient - a 30 minute walk to Gora Station and close by buses that are serviced by the Hakone Free Pass.AmberGroup

The host was amazingly helpful and very very friendly. It's quite small but it's very quaint and cute. The room is quite big though for what we needed. She was very clear and punctual in the explanations about the stay, and she was also giving me many advices on what to visit in Hakone. Her hostel is a lovely, traditional guest house. I felt like in one of those Japanese movies that I was watching when I was little. It was also super clean and cozy. Kana also offers hot/cold free drinks, and a fridge to leave your stuff.
